  Wealth of Documents at Royal Commission Site

  although i will continue to provide those of you who have subscribed to my distribution list with pertinent documents as they become available, there is a wealth of material just sitting there for you to pick over if you will just take the time and clear some space on your computer.

  i suggest that you go to costco, amazon.com, or a local office supply store and pick up a couple of usb plugin storage drives.

  i just bought a set of two 128gb 3.0 sandisk dongles for $19 usd at costco.

  as the story of "annointed" ones goes.....when their spouse is left behind on earth, are they free to remarry?

  that would kinda suck, being in heaven...watching the wifey , or hubby gettin doinked by someone new.

  Yep...that's the way the cookie crumbles..except maybe the still alive one on earth is old and not up for much boinkin...

  Don't they teach that all will grow young and beautiful again with perfect bodies? So the old worn out nag that said anointed was married to and left to go to heaven will become Miss World within a year or two and have all the next set of rebellious angels after her.. not to mention having to watch her getting popped for all eternity by that slack ministerial servant that ended up marrying her in the new system..

  How big a deal is the royal commission..? It seems to be not much...

  my understanding (very limited and maybe flawed) is that this commission has no teeth.

  if thats true why would the org care?

  send a few lawyers, go through the motions but in the end.... its a dog parking on a porch.

  lets get real folks.
  jw's are less than point one % of the population.
  so this investigation is of zero interest to 99.99% of the population--so it just isnt newsworthy.

  All due respect but I would say you are very wrong there stan livedeath

  .. 99% of the population might not be interested in joining JW's.. but a very large number of the population would definitely be interested in seeing the org exposed for what it really is and to see it pulled apart at the seams by professionally trained, acute and objective legal minds.

  They can have pretty big teeth.. and for an organization like the borg who quite viciously guard their reputation and standing of being squeaky clean and the torch bearers of morality in this world this commision can wreck that facade.

  A Royal Commission is a major ad-hoc formal public inquiry into a defined issue in some monarchies. They have been held in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Saudi Arabia. A Royal Commission is similar in function to a Commission of Enquiry (or Inquiry) found in other countries such as Ireland, South Africa, and Hong Kong.

  A Royal Commissioner has considerable powers, generally greater even than those of a judge but restricted to the terms of reference of the Commission. The Commission is created by the Head of State (the Sovereign, or his/her representative in the form of a Governor-General or Governor) on the advice of the Government and formally appointed by Letters Patent. In practice—unlike lesser forms of inquiry—once a Commission has started the government cannot stop it. Consequently governments are usually very careful about framing the Terms of Reference and generally include in them a date by which the commission must finish.

  Royal Commissions are called to look into matters of great importance and usually controversy. These can be matters such as government structure, the treatment of minorities, events of considerable public concern or economic questions.

  Many Royal Commissions last many years and, often, a different government is left to respond to the findings. In Australia—and particularly New South Wales—Royal Commissions have been investigations into police and government corruption and organised crime using the very broad coercive powers of the Royal Commissioner to defeat the protective systems that powerful, but corrupt, public officials had used to shield themselves from conventional investigation.

  Royal Commissions are usually chaired by one or more notable figures. Because of their quasi-judicial powers the Commissioners are often retired or serving judges.

  Royal Commissions usually involve research into an issue, consultations with experts both within and outside of government and public consultations as well. The Warrant may grant immense investigatory powers, including summoning witnesses under oath, offering of indemnities, seizing of documents and other evidence (sometimes including those normally protected, such as classified information), holding hearings in camera if necessary and—in a few cases—compelling all government officials to aid in the execution of the Commission.

  Is there much of a difference between what happens when a priest is accused today and what happened prior to 2002 (when the charter and norms were adopted)?

  In most situations, no. The reforms of the Church began long before 2002. As laws changed, as understanding of sexual abuse and sexual offenders developed, so did the procedures of the Church in most local dioceses and communities.

  It was 1992 when the bishops first began following the “Five Principles,” which included pastoral outreach to victims, investigations and open communication with communities.

  Published in 1992, the bishops’ five principles were:

  1) respond promptly to all allegations of abuse, (Accused is often called a liar, made to feel it was their fault, are subjected to horrific interrogation involving the most intimate sexual details in a small room with three old men and the accused while not being allowed any moral support)

  2) relieve the alleged offender promptly of his ministerial duties and refer him for appropriate medical evaluation and intervention, (Accused is allowed to remain in position of authority simply by denying any accusation. Even after a clear confession or having been found guilty accused can apply for reinstatement and privileges. ie; be re-appointed as an elder or ministerial servant and gets to play with kids again)

  3) comply with the obligations of civil law as regards reporting of the incident, (No reporting to police or authorities, victims coerced or actively discouraged from doing so)

  4) reach out to the victims and their families, and (No reaching out to families or community whatsoever, no support, no professional counseling etc)

  5) deal as openly as possible with the members of the community. (Total secrecy, all notes and records destroyed, keep complete silence or you will be disfellowshipped, community is never notified that a peopdophile has been ejected into or is operating and living in their midst)

  In dealing with this issue, you’ve really seen the dark side of humanity and individuals within the Church. You’re still Catholic, aren’t you? How has it impacted your faith?

  This is a question I actually get fairly often. Even though much of my adult life has been spent dealing with sexual abuse in the Church and other organizations, I’m still Catholic.

  i am shocked that an expert would simply examine only the literature given to her by the organisation she was defending and simply accept it.

  also the ease she has in making huge sweeping statements when comparing the jw's to all other international religious organisations simply undermines her professionalism.. i am also thoroughly shocked at her blatant, 'expert for hire', 'will defend anyone' apparent decision making, the organisation is responsible for covering up thousands of abuse victims by its own records, in australia alone!

  never mind their judicial process being heartless and traumatic!.
