  good evening all,.

  i'm ashamed to say i have lurked here for a couple of years without having the courage to jump in.. the insight i have found in these posts has done much to heal the broken hearted.. there is no one that can truly understand this particular experience this without living it.. i was raised in the lower mainland of bc., i will share my own experience as courage will alow.. sincere thanks to all of you for helping me to heal and understand that i am not all by myself.

  tink and i just came back from a weekend in the town we lived in where we got da'ed.

  we were getting ready to leave for home yesterday afternoon and her younger brother (not a jw) called to talk to tink with some "news" he heard.

  he found out that the elder who spearheaded our ordeal with the jdc during our inquisition, has been having an affair with a sister in the cong we used to attend, for the past two years.

  one of the big issues affecting ex-jws is being shunned by their close relatives.

  this can be especially painful for parents, children or siblings.

  the jw relative may even make some exceptions to associate in the name of "necessary" business, but then later on their conscience "pricks" them, and they realize that they have pushed the envelope too much and they withdraw their association altogether ... or ... the society comes out with some article or the co comes to town, and manage to ding on some issue that make jws feel guilty about associating with df'd and da'd relatives.
