  I'm getting disfellowshipped

  hi everyone, a bit of an update here on my continuing disaster of a situation.. (refer to my previous posts for the full story) my mom met with me yesterday for dinner, it was nice.. however, she brought up the fact that because i live with my boyfriend and how everything has gone down, i will be disfellowshipped.. i think the elders basically have enough proof of this.. due to the anonymous tipper (still have no clue who it was, i live in another town 100's of miles away from my old congregation territory), and my mom telling them.

  i'm not sure when they will announce it, or if they will contact me prior.. at this point i feel so emotionally dead i don't care- on the other hand, i don't want to be disfellowshipped because i do not want to loose a relationship with my mom.

  that is the whole reason i tried fading out.. .

  My pretty hardcore parents speak to me and my disfellowshipped siblings.

  I am pretty shocked. However, even if they shunned me, it wouldn't make me go back.

  I am pretty resistant to emotional blackmail now that I understand what it is.

  Died Due To Refusing Blood Transfusion

  well, last monday my mother, a jehovah's witness since her baptism in 1968 died last week because she would not accept a blood transfusion.

  she was 76 and had lung and skin cancer.

  i know that the cancer would have gotten her anyway, but she was bleeding internally, and was told that she needs a blood transfusion, as her blood count went all the way down to 3.2 (should be 12-14.

  And, they could be shut down or even fined for not following them if someone were inclined to report.

  i've been reading so much lately about the pre message of the rc is about downsizing and living in bunkers.. are we getting ahead of ourselves?

  living within your means has been a good piece of advice.

  i do have a big house, but along with that i have to pay extra to heat it, extra work to clean it, more on residential taxes, worries about the volatile house market.

  The problem of downsizing to a condo is the outrageous condo fees.

  Even if I sell my larger house and pay cash for a condo, the condo fees are in perpetuity, and are likely to go up over time.

  At $300 a month, that's $3600 a year. I could easily pay a neighborhood kid to mow my lawn and shovel snow for less than that.

  And then I don't have my neighbors walking over top of me.

  It happened to me. I was just a kid, tagging along with 2 sisters.

  They gave their presentation to a man lying on a sofa just inside the door.

  He agreed to take the magazines and when he got up off the sofa, he dropped his blanket and proceeded towards the door buck nekkid.

  One of the sisters put her hand over my eyes!

  So funny, looking back on it.

  I wonder if they went back for a return visit?

  i was reading in another forum, that a letter to the elders instructed them to speak to anybody who persists in wearing tight pants.

  if changes don't happen then the instructions are to disqualify him from being a publisher but it won't be announced to the congregation.

  i am am curious to see if this letter will surface.

  I am terribly sorry for your loss, especially the way it happened.

  I have lived the travesty of the blood issue with my parents as well. They both survived, but not without a good look at the HLC and the helplessness of knowing your parents have "lawyered up" with their DPOA and you are not a decision maker.

  Another thought: maybe the Watchtower are thinking of going into residential real estate.

  You know, buy up apartment complexes with rank and file donations, then encourage them to rent. Then they collect rent money every month from JWs.

  It's the perfect scam.

  It really drives me crazy that they put down homeownership and promote renting.

  I've been a homeowner long enough (22 years) and have enough equity that I would easily pay an extra $1000 a month if I rented.

  So stupid.

  If I hadn't have put an addition on my house, it would nearly be paid off.

  If they promoted people buying small houses, then they could hit them up for extra donations once they're middle-aged and their mortgages are paid off.

  Such short-sighted thinking. And they hurt themselves as well as their followers in the process.
