The first rule of beard club...
by GrreatTeacher in...is you don't start growing a beard in the spring!
you start growing it in the fall, keep your chin warm in the winter, and then shave it off for warm weather.
at least that's how it works in my household and in the northern hemisphere where the gb are.. i have the sneaking suspicion that there is going to be a steep learning curve for many.. will they know to trim it along their jawbone properly?

Just changed out the summer quilts.
by GrreatTeacher ini just washed all my summer quilts and put them away for the season.
i brought out the thicker and heavier winter quilts and put them on the beds.. i love patchwork quilts and have a couple of heirloom ones actually made out of the scraps of old family clothes.
my mom can point to a fabric and say," oh, that was a dress of mine when i was little," or, "that was my mother's apron.".

Just helped my kid get his first used car.
by GrreatTeacher inmy son, only child, age 19, college sophomore, just got his first used car.
most importantly, he learned the fun and exhilarating process of buying a used car from a dealer.
he had saved some money, but everything around the $5000 range was basically a shit box on wheels.

Merry Christmas to my friends in Australia and New Zealand!
by GrreatTeacher inas i get ready to go to sleep, i realize that it is already christmas day for everyone in se asia.. i know not everyone celebrates, but it can be a big deal to exjws who were denied the fun and wonder as children.. i have been out since i was a very young adult and have celebrated christmas first with my in-laws and then with my own child and absolutely love the season.. i am also enjoying this quieter covid christmas.
just my direct family tonight for christmas eve.
my son is 19 so i don't have to wait till he finally falls asleep and build all the toys, then get up super early on christmas day anymore.
