  Can you get disfellowship for kissing a person of the same sex?

  i found this on exjwreddit.

  a pimo elder is in the middle of an event where a former co allegedly kissed a brother from another hall.. the co denied it so the other elders are frustrated because they can't have a judicial meeting.

  if true, can he be disfellowshipped?

  SaltaDoom, you don't really believe that crap you wrote, do you?

  Elders disfellowship "repentant" people all the time to make examples of them. Especially if others know about it. They are making a statement to others that this won't be allowed.

  And their "help" consists of the direction to pray more and go out in the ministry more.

  You might not know this though until it happens to you.

  Believe what they actually do, not what they say they do.

  Many here can testify to the above, including myself.

  how many times did you see elders hounding congregation members to quit their jobs due to missing meetings?.

  my brother worked at a grocery store at 16 years old.

  he would miss tuesday's ministry school due to his work schedule.

  I remember some of this crap from back in the 80s.

  My father rarely had to work overtime, but there were occasions, such as a plant shutdown, when he absolutely had to work.

  If they're shutting down the entire place so some necessary work could be done, they wanted workers there 24/7 for that week or two because they weren't making money during the shutdown and wanted to get things back up and running again as soon as possible.

  Thankfully my dad was a team player and would help out when absolutely necessary.

  He did turn down some voluntary overtime though.

  That was when there were 2 midweek meetings. Now, when there is only one, it sounds really petty for the elders to have an issue with missing one hour (or however long the meeting is now) a week to keep decent employment.

  i have been on m any different forums, and only carm is similar to this.. all the rest have rather hypocritical trust in god.. this and carm are for those who apostate to the wtbs and to god.. turned off by the gb, or hypocritical examples in the congregation, they drop worshiping god and their belief in the bible... for they know too much,.

  that's why scripture isn't discussed, and jws like me, are demonized.. i am cool with that!

  Should young children peddle Watchtower Society literature?

  one thing i always disliked about the watchtower society is how they use young children tp peddle their literature.

  my mom insisted that my brother (12 years old) and i (9 years old) go out in field service every saturday morning.

  didn't matter if it was 90 degrees or 20 degrees, we were out peddling watchtower magazines.

  I was very young, maybe 7.

  My evil trick to lighten up the boredom was to allow my mother to give her presentation, then plaintively look the householder in the eye and say, "I've gotta go to the bathroom!"

  It was amazing the number of times that it worked and I was able to spend some quality time snooping in some stranger's bathroom.

  When there was silence and it looked doubtful, I would seamlessly turn to my mother and continue, "so we've got to go now. Maybe I could use the bathroom at McDonald's."

  Mom figured the game out after a few months, but it was very entertaining while it worked.

  i found this interesting topic on the current views among jws regarding the overlapping generation.. the posts are hilarious.

  how do most jehovah's witnesses explain the overlapping generation?.

  i've asked a couple of jws to explain the overlapping generation and they directed me to the website jw------org.. either they don't know, or they do know but don't want to discuss it because they know it's bogus and embarrassing.. either way, surely they must know that this just extended the last days another 80 years from the time fred franz died.

  One of their big problems is confusing the word generation with lifespan.

  1914 to 1994 would be an 80 year lifespan. People started to get antsy.

  But the word generation was always used to describe a group of contemporaries in modern parlance. Hence: the Greatest Generation, the Baby Boom Generation, Generation X, etc.

  Suddenly, WT decided to use that, in a sense, updated, definition of the word. A group of contemporaries overlapping in age. Yes, you could be born anytime between 1946 and 1964 and still be part of the Baby Boom Generation, even though individuals could have as much as 18 years in age between them.

  But, they bastardized this to mean some gobbledygook wherein a grandfather is an overlapping generation with a grandson and the lengths of their separate lifespans added up to something they called an "overlapping generation." This is a completely made up idea. It's a made up word with a made up usage. Of course it's incomprehensible: it's an idea that doesn't actually exist in reality.

  Demerits for misuse of the English language.

  this is why i can't in good conscience go back to the organisation.

  you are pressured to bring others into the cult and then for them to wake up and find they are caught in a web of rules and policies such as shunning.

  Weasel words.

  Lawyer was great in calling out the artificial distinction between disassociation and being inactive, and pointing out the fact that inactive people are also shunned, people who never disassociated from the organization.

  They never answered the question and should've been held in contempt of court.

  Who were the "superior authorities" in 2013 when this happened? They certainly weren't cooperating with them if they were considered to be earthly authorities at that time.

  Also, their faux humility comes across as very slimey.

  Amazon delivers every damn day to my neighbors. They must order stuff every day.

  US postal service delivered packages on Christmas day. They are delivering regular mail today.

  I cannot imagine Amazon not delivering today.

  Happy New Year

  wishing all of you a happy and prosperous new year.

  my wish is for everyone to find happiness.

  for those of you who are still having to keep up appearances (pimo's) because of family who are still in, my wish for you is anything that will open the eyes of your family members and finally be set free.. tonight here in minnesota, happydad will be celebrating with a bloody mary, right here at home in my sweats.

  Yes, happy New Year!

  Mad dash to the grocery store for milk and cat food and then we're in for the evening.

  We'll beat on the pots and pans at midnight and listen for shotgun shots and maybe fireworks that were smuggled into the state.

  My husband's family then calls each other to wish each other happy new year. Crazy in my book. Let the old farts sleep!

  Then off to bed. Dreaming of sugar plums . . . oh wait, wrong holiday. Dreaming of a better year in 2022.
