Smiddy, you'll notice it took the US Postal Service a month to get your cards to you and then another 2 months for a return. Christmas cards...it's spring in 2 days!
At this rate I have to mail my bills out before I even get an invoice!

single, still live at home or heavily dependent on parents because they have measly jobs.

Listen to this outrageous story:
Girl marries guy, dragging him out of his mother's house.
He bails after about 2 months, goes back home to Mommy's and holes up.
Girl is devastated, divorces him, gets over it, eventually finds another JW guy and they plan to get married.
The elders say, "Nah, ahh, ahh, not gonna happen. You're not scriptually free to get married."
Girl cannot get a confession of adultery out of her ex. (My theory is that he was gay and realized he couldn't fake it.)
Elders have the solution: Marry your new husband, let us know when, we'll disfellowship you but let you come back after only 6 months if you play by the rules, and then everyone lives happily ever after.
So, that's what happened.
And that's someone who wanted to stay in the truth! Both of them!

This reaction makes sense to ordinary, unbrainwashed people.
But, trust us, this is a bad move because their minds have been compromised. Their ability to use critical thinking has been compromised!
Story after story on this forum proves that this way of doing things just does not work.
Be miserly with your new knowledge and reveal small things slowly. This has been the way that has shown the most success by people on this forum.
Spend some time reading the stories of others. You will find much that you will recognize, some warnings, some advice, and much fellowship without judgment.

This is regarding a situation in which your child is hospitalized and the hospital wants to give your child blood to save its life.
*Highlight (lowlight)
Don't allow the hospital to sneakily get a court order without your knowledge. Demand from the beginning that you as a parent be included in the proceeding and use the Hospital Liason Committee recommend alternative treatments to the judge.
Also *DO NOT mention your hope for the resurrection for your child as it may make you "appear unreasonable." ( yes, it does )

If you were a judge, would you believe testimony from the Hospital Liason Committe or medical doctors, specifically the ones treating the patient?
I would hope that hospitals would be aware of this and know to get a court order immediately upon the discussion with the parents that they are refusing blood. Emergency court orders happen at all times of day or night.
I talked to the surgeon who was performing bloodless surgery for my father and asked him about children. He told me that he was confident that he could do the surgery successfully on my father, but pointed at my nephew who was a toddler and said he would get a court order for him "like that" and snapped his fingers.
