Waking up without any precipitating factor (other than a pill) could be even more traumatic than waking up based on a negative event in the organization. I'm troubled by the lack of volition. I'm postponing judgment on this scenario.

If there was a pill that could open their eyes - would you give it to them?
by truthseeker inif there was a pill you could give to your jw family members that would awaken their eyes to the truth about the cult, would you give it to them?.
most would probably say yes.. but what about those who are completely institutionalized, the elderly, the super zealous, the geeky kids who have no friends, the misfits?.
some people need "boundaries", they need someone to lead and give them directions, they need a sense of belonging, even in an organization that has no social programs.

I really think this highlights the reason that people hang out on this site even though they've been out for years. You just never know when there's a little bit of dysfunction hiding in our being that gets pulled out of us in an unexpected situation like Terry's. We don't always know where we are not completely over it, mostly because I don't think you ever completely get over it.
BTW, I think you handled it great and I appreciate that, as a writer, you could share the experience with us so clearly and in nearly real time.

A supremely confident and sure woman is so sexy...
by Comatose ini have always been attracted to very confident and self-assured women.
so sexy.
example - a girl who may not look like a skinny stick model at the beach in a bikini and rocking it.

Would like all of your imput on this. Please
by Still Totally ADD inboth reopened mind and i are now in our early 60's and it seems our conversations lately have been on putting everything up for sale and buying a rv and travel until we can't anymore.
it has been a dream of ours for along time to see all the site's in the u.s. and canada.
we feel we could make money as we go by selling and teaching using herbs and gardening.

If you can also do mechanical repairs that would be helpful. I would still keep $ 6000 to $8000 on hand for major repairs.
We just put $2000 in our truck for a rear and an axle. Can't imagine the cost for a bigger vehicle. And, a blown engine would be astronomical.
Not trying to rain on your parade, just doing the math. :)

Just thinking that real estate generally appreciates in value and an RV starts depreciating as soon as you pull out of the dealer's lot.
So, you would be selling an appreciating asset to buy one that depreciates and still gobbles lots of money in fuel and repair costs.
I can't even imagine how much it would cost to fill up an RV. My husband's Dodge Ram costs $150 to fill up and he does that once a week. I jokingly asked him, "Do you realize that we are literally burning $600 a month?"

Your ovarian pain could be any number of things. If it happens in the middle of the month, you could just be ovulating. If it happens during your period, it could just be cramping in the general area. But, if it happens when you are late or just before your period, it could be an ovarian cyst.
They don't do a lot for ovarian cysts, other than giving you a diagnosis and possibly putting you on birth control pills to stop ovulation completely.
If they diagnose you with polycystic ovarian syndrome, they might choose to treat you with metformin, a diabetes drug, but you must meet other criteria like impaired glucose metabolism, weight gain, higher than normal testosterone levels, and infertility. It's really an endocrine disorder. I was diagnosed by a reproductive endocrinologist when I had difficulty getting pregnant.
Btw, I'm not giving medical advice. This was just my experience. There may be other causes of ovarian pain.

I've also had ruptured ovarian cysts. Been in bed for 3 days. They just let your body absorb the blood now. Very, very intensely painful.
They treat it with metformin, a diabetes drug now. It seems it's an endocrine disorder that doesn't just stop at burst ovaries. It can cause pre diabetes and elevated blood lipids, as well as infertility. Those cysts are eggs that never release from the ovaries and form cysts. They are reconsidering the name polycystic ovarian syndrome because the effects are not just limited to ovarian cysts.
Personally, they put me on metformin and I got pregnant the next month!

They continue to drop like flies
by suavojr inyes, the jws continue to bleed their young ones, so far in my local kh 3 were dfd, one girl just turned 18 this month and packed her bags and said goodbye to the cult and her cultish parents, another young 18 year old man decided to have a non-jw girlfriend and decided to stop attending and is no longer a witness.
they continue to leave and wt leaders dont give a damn.
they dont do anything to help kids be successful and live a healthy life.. .

The thing is, my cycle is just as regular as ever, it's just the second half is hell. Night sweats, irritability, insomnia. Then my Aunt Flo comes to visit and all those symptoms go away, but the cramping and excessive bleeding start.
I get about one good week out of the month. I'm 42 and people say this lasts another 10 years!
Oh, and jgnat, for $55, I'll just sleep in the buff. ;)
