Do you agreed with Ben Carson, Muslim should not become president??
by James Mixon ini do believe islam conflicts with constitution.
your thoughts.

Isn't this much ado about nothing? Are there even any Muslims running for president right now?
I haven't been paying too much attention since it's still really early in the process.

VW emissions cheating and driverless cars
by Simon inwhen i first heard about this it sounded like they just had a mode that was optimizing the vehicle's emission levels which sounded good.. turns out, they were detecting when a car was being tested to cheat the control system.. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-34311819.
their shares are down 19% - but larger than the financial fallout is the trust.
this is the worlds largest car manufacturer!.

Bikes are considered vehicles like any other in Maryland. They can legally use the entire lane.
Did you know you can even get a DWI on a bike in Maryland? They must follow all the rules for motor vehicles, including blood alcohol content for drivers. So, if you thought you could avoid drinking and driving by biking home after an evening at the bar, nope.

No, I'm not in Philly, but I feel bad for commuters.
Once, many years ago, the Pope came to my city. I believe it was Pope John PaulII who came to Baltimore in the early '90s. However, it was not something I paid attention to at the time.
My attention was focused on more practical things. My husband and I had just purchased our first home, a tiny fixer-upper, and had just purchased a very old Volkswagen squareback. It was a fun little car for being 20 years old and ran pretty well, but a few things needed replacing and parts were hard to find.
We finally found a parts car. The guy said we might be able to get it to run so we could drive home, but no promises. We were young and up for adventure and so we jumped into the Volkswagen and drove around the beltway all the way across the city to look at this car. It did not look so great, but it had the parts we needed, so we made the deal and tried to start the car to go home.
No dice. The car would not run, which was okay in the sense that we just needed the parts, but now we had the dilemma of how to get it home. We thought of getting a tow truck, but that would be expensive taking it to the other side of the city. So, we did what broke, young and stupid people do. We chained the parts car to the VW and decided to tow it home through the city and I mean directly through the middle of the heart of the city because we couldn't tow it around the city on the beltway.
So, we started off. Slowly. My husband drove the VW and I got in the towed car where I slammed on the brakes when hubby did in front of me. We actually made some progress and were beginning to think this might work. But, traffic slowed ahead and then it really snarled. Suddenly we had to take detours. Stop and go, stop and go. My husband would start off slowly until my car started moving, then he would wave out the window that he was going to brake and I would hit the breaks on the parts car. When we turned corners, I wrestled the steering wheel around the corner.
It was just one hell of a miserable traffic mess in the middle of Baltimore City and we couldn't figure out why. There were no sports games going on. And why were there all of these people milling around?
Finally, I saw my husband waving wildly and pointing at a cross street and there he was, the Pope himself in his Popemobile driving through the city waving at the faithful!
We got home several hours later safe and sound. The cars were okay, too. We laughed and laughed and laughed over our poor timing. We thought maybe we should start paying attention to the news. We still laugh over this 20 years later. It's one of our favorite family stories. And we still think our little old Volkswagen squareback was much cooler than the Popemobile!
We will not be going anywhere near Washington, DC later this week when the Pope shows up there.

Today I learned - I'm incapable of having a relationship
by Garrett inhello my dear friends,.
while this post may not be entirely witness related, i figured i'd write out my thoughts here as a form of release and reflection.. recently, a lot has changed in my life.
i'm away from home for the first time in a long while training to get certified in a field i'm not even sure i want to work in anymore.

Possibly, Illuminated. That's something Garrett should definitely think about for awhile to see if it fits.
Also, there might be a case of you just being somewhat on the introverted scale of things. It seems like you go into relationships hot and heavy and then get burnt out by all of the togetherness and you not making time for yourself. You have to have boundaries to protect yourself, but you have to know your limitations, first. After coming out of a cult that told you who you should be, is it any wonder that you're not sure who you are and what you need?
Do you think taking some time to figure these things out might be helpful?
Have you ever thought of telling the girl you're not interested in a relationship at this time, but would enjoy dating casually? Honesty is usually appreciated.

Blurring of genders
by Saltheart Foamfollower inas sometimes happens at elders meetings with the co, he has a letter from the branch to read out.
this rarely is made available later so any policies have to be acted on from memory.
this visit a letter was read about blurring of the genders and in particular brothers dressing in a metrosexual style - tight clothing was mentioned again.

I'm writing a novel!
by punkofnice ini'm up to about 30k words at the moment and still going strong.. i don't expect it'll ever get off the ground.....at least i'm going to try though.. i'm thinking of 6 months time and looking at the route of self publishing.
yes, i want to be a publisher.. it's very violent in places, has violent sexual scenes and very strong language.. it's everything the watchtower(r) said i should avoid.....i wonder if my authentic self has exploded into freedom?.
if you want more info or wish to read a snippet let me know.. i can't think of a title and have changed it several times, at the moment it's called 'boomshot.

I'm not so sure a bigger awakening is going to happen anymore
by bradford inwhen i left in march officially i started reading the forums here.
i had this excitement that more people would be leaving soon because of the crazy broadcasts, the crazy "new light" that the gb was dishing out, and more recently the australian royal commission lighting up geoffrey.
this past saturday i had an elder stop by to chat for the first time since i left.

I don't really hold much hope out for my parents. They are retired and I just can't see them restructuring their entire worldview as well as completely recreating their social networks.
But, their 3 GenX kids are all out, as well as four grandchildren, so it's good to know that all that nonsense stops with our generation.

If you've royally pissed me off, I'm going to have the desire to have sex with you on par with that clump of dirt over there.
You're just not attractive sexually when you're being an ass. Think of it like this equation: being a dick does not equal intimacy which does not cause me to have sexual feelings toward you.
Some women might hold out to punish, but most of the time we're just not turned on by bad behavior. Drop the attitude and we're likely to feel a little more loving towards you.
And, if you can't handle being a nice guy and building trust and vulnerability and an intimate relationship, then you're just not very attractive.
Good luck leaving and finding it elsewhere. If your behavior is the same, you might have some trouble with anybody you're trying to get with.
(Advice not directly about goingthruthemotions. Just general feminine point of view.)
