All this new JW.org stuff is hurting my brain

so i just watched the singing cart video.

i literally cannot describe how i felt watching that.. growing up as a jw was serious business.

we had to take the preaching work seriously, watch our conduct, give a good witness by our actions, and be on our best behaviour to ensure we made it through the great tribulation.. when i was a child, i had dreams of being a cartoonist.

Your opening post could have been written by me, as it expels upon exactly how I feel as well. The Generational mind-f*ck was hard enough to take in, now all of THIS crap? But then again, look at the "why". I am 35. Of the 10-15 people in my age group from the local Kingdom Halls and that I went to school with, I believe 2 are still "in". Everyone else left.....even ones I thought at the time were "die-hards" got fed up with it before they were 21 and LEFT. Some were DF'd, but most just did a "fade", wherein they moved out of their controlling parents homes, moved away, and never set foot into a Kingdom Hall again. Seeing the "dignified" religion of my youth turned into this worldly, pathetic, undignified, joke of a cult has really left me with my jaw on the floor. If my parents were still alive, they would be OUT. No way would this fly with them. No way. My late mother died in 2007, and as I reflect on just the past 8 years it looks like a different religion. My mom was pretty much out anyway (had all of Ray Franz's books before me!) and if she'd be alive today she'd call pure BS for sure.

This cult has sold out, jumped the shark. They are as irrelevant as Scientology, and just as big a joke. The hypocrisy to have an internet TV channel showing 3rd world crap-hole congregations barely surviving, while you are wearing a designer suit and $22,000 Rolex, is just too much to handle. It's a real sight to behold. I'm glad I never donated much money as a child to this farce of a religion.

i just started to watch the february broadcast when i noticed a metallic rattle over the drone of sam's voice.

(does that man speak with a mouth full of chowin' tobacco or is he choking on the rubbish he reads off the autocue?).

yep it's his rolex.

Yeah, I was thinking the bezel colour was off, and the dial is weird. I think it's an Invicta diver with their gold "meterorite" style dial. That, or just a plain old fake. (just like the GB)

This interests me, as I used to be pretty big watch enthusiast, with a decent collection.

The polished center links of the bracelet give it away as a true Rolex. Even Invicta's don't really have it like that. However, the purple reflection off the rotating bezel makes me want to say it's a fake. Real Rolex's don't really have a purple hue.....it's more blue, though different lighting can cause this effect.

I find it amazing that it's not even a "regular" gold Rolex Submariner....oh no! It's one with a "Serti" dial. This would extra $$$$$$ for sure.

Possibilities:

1. Real Rolex Submariner with Serti dial. Sam could claim a rich brother bought it for him, but what does it say that Sam kept it? Imagine how many Kingdom Halls a $22,000 USD Rolex watch could build in Africa, where Andre probably lives?

2. Fake Rolex Sam bought off the NYC street. Probably cost $75.00. It's fake, and what does that say about Sam being such a gigantic POSUER that he's wearing a fake watch to represent the one "True" religion? Irony anyone?

3. Possible Invicta homage. Invicta makes some good cheap watches, and they did at one time make one with a gold Serti dial. You can still buy them if you look around.

Hey, Judge Rutherford had not 1, but 2 16 cylinder Cadillac's during the Great Depression while JW's suffered. What's a Gold Rolex and an Infinity to these guys? Pocket change.

What the h*ll was THAT? I am 35. I was told all thru my youth that Disney and movies that gave human voice or human attributes to animals or inanimate objects was "promoting magic", and was "like Satan the Devil", and to be avoided at all costs. And now, to see THIS? You gotta be kidding me! Door-to-door in the 1980's was h*ll as a kid. Knocking on the doors of your schoolmates, being made an a** out of and never living it down. Now, all the youth have to do is trout out this literature cart and start their time while they walk the mall or surf at the beach while the cart "does the witnessing" for them up on the boardwalk. Incredible!!!!!!!!!!

And if that simple-minded musical ear-rape wasn't bad enough, having Sam Herd sit there and tell us that "Unity in all aspects of our life glorifies God...." and "Unity is the sign of true worship......." are such twisted statements. He meant to say, "Obedience to the Governing Body is equal to glorifying God, no matter what we tell you."

Crazy, cultist, LOONS! So much for being able to actually defend or explain your beliefs from the BIBLE.....Nope! Now it's just whip out the iPad and direct unsuspecting, gullible public to the jw cult website. Incredible!!!!

How can the WT have Youtube take it down? I have seen ZERO copyright notices on the video by JW.org

I find it amazing that they want an internet presence, then go to all ends and means to have their own videos or videos sanctioned by them taken down from the internet. It's like they haven't caught on that once something is put on the 'net, it will STAY on the Net FOREVER, no matter what they do or how they fight. It's free, people share and record, share and record, save and record and share.....on and on. Their is no "information control" on the Net. It is "out there" for all to see.

I think it's funny that they canned what? 1200+ older Bethelites a few years ago, and now they filled it back up with fresh young faces. Faces that know NOTHING of the iron-fist of the JW.Borg. So in a sense, the GB can not only allow, but actively sanction these types of "Happy" Bullsh*t videos with dancing and sunshine, and there are practically NO old-timers left to complain about the audacity of it all. It's fresh, smiling new clueless faces. And if you are our age 35-40 years old and dare to complain about this "brazen" display of worldliness, you'll likely be getting a talking to by your Overseer and maybe even a free ticket back to your home Congregation.

The JW cult has reinvented itself. It's a fresh new century, with fresh new technology, and the manipulative, greedy, Governing Body v2.0 is at the helm. Better hold on to your hats, this next quarter century is going to be a bumpy ride. The mainstreaming of the cult no likely includes: 1.) All blood transfusions and blood components/fractions allowed, so merciful! 2.) 1914 Generation forgotten 3.) New Covenant open to all, with 144,ooo being "figurative" just all the rest of Christianity 4.) GB still our mediator, but heaven open to hall, with Paradise Earth existing as well in the future 5.) All public talks and info broadcast throughout the world via internet TV from Headquarters to each Congregation worldwide. No more traveling speakers. 6.) Mandatory tithing, although one could argue we are seeing that now via mandatory donation pledges 7.) More information control and rigid rules to keep people in line.

What to do about wife and elders

it seams like every time i turn around i find out that the elders are trying to meet with one of my kids or are talking with them about things and of course my wife is instigating it.

if i say anything to my children she mentions something and they come running.

one of the ms's is also studying with them as well.

The WT writer of the Commentary of James was NOT Ray Franz, it was Ed Dunlap. It was quite popular, but is rarely talked about since Ed was "voided" out of Headquarters for not towing the party line in the great shake up of the early 1980's.
