  Ok, away from the "gun aspect" of this story, and back to part of the matter. Here is a tidbit I just discovered on a news site describing some of the murderers problems from his personnel file:

  "Dennison said Flanagan reported straight from a press release "instead of doing some original reporting," documents said.

  Flanagan also filed "gratuitous coverage and promotion" of a church instead of using "critical thinking and questioning skills to produce truly memorable television stories," Dennison's memo said."

  
  Wow!!!! I wonder which "Church" Flanagan was gratuitously promoting? Can you believe they actually wrote that he lacked "critical thinking skills"? CULT ALERT! CULT ALERT! There is no doubt in my mind being raised a JW definitely contributed to his psychosis.

  Felons can't get guns. Period.

  I will say this, I am NOT against ALL gun control. I also believe people don't need fully automatic weapons or silencers. Semi-auto is fine by me. I only have (1) bolt action rifle with 6-round magazine. However, it's the most dangerous in my hands. Why? Because I can hit a 2" circle at 600 meters with it. No need for full or semi auto. It's not even classified as an "assault rifle." It's technically a biathlon rifle made in Sweden. Tikka T3 Sporter.

  I never said Air Marshalls were on ALL flights. What I said, was that they were on a good number of "high-risk" flights. I'm thinking terrorists know that between armed Air Marshalls, and the fact that US Citizens aren't going to just roll over and play dead anymore, that they are a bit deterred?

  
  As for the post above about internet gun sales in America. So what? I've bought many a firearm thru such sites. Guess what? In each case, I've had to meet the seller at a licensed Gun Shop, fill out ALL the required federal and state paperwork, go thru an immediate insta-check, before I could walk out with said firearm. Do you even know what you are talking about? The people who sell their firearms without going thru the proper procedures, are in fact - BREAKING THE LAW! I myself have put "For Sale" ads on such sites. It is not illegal to sell your firearm. It is illegal to sell it privately without going thru a BATF FFL licensed dealer in order to do so. This is how BATF track ALL weapons. People breaking our laws is what is causing a lot of this mess to begin with!!!!!! Criminals do things criminally!! Felons don't purchase weapons honestly. Think criminals in Ireland or Australia don't have firearms? It's this ignorance and ignoring of the laws that we DO have in place that is causing it to be bad for the majority of the law-abiding citizens in the USA to continue to have firearms.

  Enough with this crap! A homicidal nutcase bent on killing purchased the GLOCK 19 legally. It's a fact. He was not a felon. He had no warrants out for his arrest. He had not been dishonourably discharged from the military. He had no record of drugs. He was not on medication, nor had he been involuntarily committed to a mental institution, not even "voluntarily." Hence, he was able to pass as "sane enough" purchase a firearm and pass background checks. What he did with the GLOCK is ON HIM. GLOCK didn't make him a homicidal maniac anymore than Jehovah did. In fact, I'd argue that religion has killed many more people many more times over in history than any of the wars that have ever been fought with "guns." Religion thought up by bronze age nomadic sheep herders and written in scrolls, has killed more people than GLOCK's ever will. All in the name of "God told us to do it, so we're right."

  Uh oh.......FACTS just showed up. I think I hear the crickets warming up.............

  But I digress. The man who did the killing of innocent people, had a history of paranoid, delusional behavior. By his own admission he claimed Jehovah God told him to take care of these people because of the impending race war, and also because everyone was out to get him because he was such apparently the best gay male paid companion that money could buy! (from his Twitter account postings)

  Crazy. His method of execution is irrelevant, only his outcome. I'm d*mn sorry this thread spiraled out of control to be nothing more than a shout-down of American rights as seen by foreigners who don't even live here and don't appreciate rights they themselves aren't "allowed" to possess.

  This thread is way off-topic, no matter where your stance on American gun laws.

  It has come out that the man who did this shooting, clearly was paranoid, delusional, and very angry. He himself made the statement that "Jehovah told me to do these things", etc.

  He made a lot of racist statements too.....but I honestly don't feel he was a racist because he hated white people, I think his underlying psychological disorders turned him that way. Also, the JW Cult upbringing of, "us vs. them" mentality really feeds into paranoid, delusional behavior.

  The weapon he choose is of secondary concern. As stated before, he could have run them down with a truck, beat them with a baseball bat or club, etc. His underlying mental issues are the culprit of this behavior, and the fact that he didn't get help for said problems because he didn't feel he had them.   Hey Simon, who was it again who stood up to an armed terrorist with an AK-47 shooting people on a train in France in the past week? Was it French citizens? Where were the Mounties???? I do believe it was (3) American Military servicemen on leave.

  Don't tell me that kind of crap (terrorist on train, etc) won't happen in the USA and Canada, because it is coming. You are living in a bubble if you don't think it's coming. We've had our Pearl Harbor. We've had our 9/11.

  For the record, I do NOT support Trump. I also do NOT support the Patriot Act, or the taking of anyone by force to GITMO style prisons to be waterboarded. Instead, terrorists or those aiding terrorists, should be tried, convicted, and then promptly taken out back for execution by firing squad. They want to be Martyrs so bad? No problem.

  What more can America do about "gun control"? It's not the 1980's anymore. People can't walk into a gun store, buy a fully automatic Uzi or Mach-10, M-16, etc, fill out a "mail-in" form with a fake ID, and walk out with the fully auto sub-machine gun. Those days are OVER. We have instant background checks. You can't own a fully automatic weapon, silencer, etc without a thorough background check, expensive tax stamps/permits, and without a lot of money, period!!!

  I feel background checks should be tied into ones mental medical history though. Currently, because of HIPPA laws, they are NOT. Only if you were "involuntarily committed", does mental illness show up on a background check before purchasing a weapon. That is the ONLY "loop-hole" that I am aware of in this country. Gun Show "loop holes", etc are pure myth, or are being done illegally to begin with. (I've never seen in 20+ years of attending gun shows).

  The reason there hasn't been another 9/11 style hijacking, is because the US Government has ARMED US Federal Air Marshals on a good majority of the high-risk flights!!!!!!! Air Marshals carrying Sig Sauer pistols!!!

  Gotta love the call of, "Gun lovers are cowards! They need to FEEL safer!"

  I ask you again, did the Nazis disarming Germany make the people any safer?

  Cinemas doing searches at the door disarms everyone and makes them FEEL safe. TRUE, because that's an illusion. Once inside, an unarmed criminal or terrorist then goes to one of the EXIT doors, opens it up, and lets his terrorist buddy with an AK-47 stroll right in, to open fire on an unarmed group of scared SHEEPLE.
