i am noticing that when some of the ads run, the page keeps scrolling upward towards them.
this is annoying and should be addressed, as it makes some threads almost impossible to read.
have same effect on two different oss, (same browser type, firefox).
It was gone for a few months, now it's right back. I brought this issue up before, it's really REALLY bad!!!!
Can't read any threads, as it "hijacks" the scrolling on the screen and forces everything to the top. If it just ran on the side, I wouldn't care - it DOESN'T.......it runs at the top, and while running, you can't read the thread. It repeats this interuptive loop over and over again as well. UGH!

so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.

Ok, so what I find interesting is that the "helper" departments of the laundry and kitchen are being cut. This is an interesting move, that goes right along with the recent cutting of the delivery drivers in Canada, in favor of UPS delivering literature from the branch office to the Kingdom Halls. Oh, you didn't hear that one? That's right, ALL WT truck drivers were laid off in Canada, in favour of using UPS shipping instead.
What I see here, is cost-cutting measures and streamlining using outside sources. Much like many schools, hospitals, and even the Military in the United States, the Kitchen/cafeterias/Laundry of WT HQ and Branches can be cut in favour of an outside source (subcontractor) who is cheaper and that whom they don't have to pay healthcare and living expenses on.
This is brilliant! They get rid of human bodies, living expenses, living quarters, and other money-sucking things like Bethel workers and healthcare, and instead subcontract out the Kitchen and Laundry services to an outside company for a fee. Brilliant! Truly, a blessing from Jehovah, using Satan's worldly system to streamline HQ! This is a continuation from years ago, when they stopped using WT Farms food to cook from, and instead just bought cheap food from where ever. Same thing, different decade!
As we can see, the bean-counters and lawyers run this religion. And the voluntary workers who signed up for a life of poverty at Bethel? "Go forth, be warm and well fed Brothers!"

The lawsuits must really be coming hot and hard, and disgruntled, lowly rank-n-file with even half a brain and Google are voting silently with their wallets. The youth are leaving in droves. this last week i was e-mailed that my aunt had died.
she was 95 years old and had a long a good life with a loving family around her.
the reason this is more good news than bad is because due to the help of a member on this board i was able to reconnect with her.
the culture of jws as encouraged by the watchtower is one of informing on one another, reporting to either the elders or ones designated head.

Haha! & Dissodant15!! Poor Paul! I hadn't seen Paul since about 1999 at my father's funeral. I had no idea he had lost his mind so badly. Why would they allow him to continue on in FS like that, embarrassing himself like that? I spent many a long night at the Book Study's with him and Dorothy (his wife) at my family's home. I'm talking, till like 10-11:00 at night. They and my parents were hardcore into the End Times 1914/Generation nonsense in the 1980's. It's like fed off of each other. Scary.
Weirdest Paul Oxenreider story? He shows up one summer to visit with us. This was probably 1992-1993. We were at Red Lion Congregation at that time, he at one of the Mt. Joy Congregations. Anyway, he starts telling us about this Society-Approved Brother who's come thru the local congregations with his new-age type healing/cure thing. We were like, who? What? So Paul starts tells telling us how this guy can "test your body" and tell if you have multiple personality disorder and demons, or other ailments. He even gave us an example of how this guy "tests the body", by asking it, touching certain parts, etc. Of course, the guy charged some exorbitant fee to "test your body" and sell you his crap!!! He'd then move on to the next Congregation full of victims! I believe this was Kiniesology or some such new-age crap. My father and I agreed it was the biggest load of crap we had ever heard!!!
Oh, and at the District Assembly in 1994 at The Vet in Philadelphia, my mother and I ran into Paul. He asked how things were going. My mother stated that her younger brother has passed not even 6 months before. Know what Paul asked without missing a beat? "Oh, was he a Jehovah's Witness?" No sympathy, no empathy, no words of consolation for my grieving mother.....just ask about his "status" in the Org, which he didn't belong to. My mother was STUNNED and aghast. Some Christian Love, huh? Maybe Paul was losing it then, cause that was cold as HELL.
