Narcissistic personality disorder and the dubs

i've recently started to research npd.

having identified several of my family members as having it ( no wonder we're such a ¿***#@**!!!!

up family)there's huge similarities between the borg and individual members of the cong as well i've noticed.the over whelming love of self, the need to believe in a grandiose fictional version of themselves, always striving for more power and wealth, being unable to stand any criticism, and then there's the manipulation of the victims too.i could be wrong i guess but what thoughts do you guys have about it?

My sister-in-law is a totally manipulatively, self-centered narcissist and borderline psychopath. She has ZERO empathy for anyone except herself and her "darling" daughters, who are every bit as spiteful, two-faced, vindictive, and narcissistic as she is; worse even. What's worse, is that she's totally fooled my wife's parents into believing she's so wonderful and that my wife is white trash. And of course like the gullible fools they are, they lap that right up and continue to enable the narcissist and her family. We're done. After being harassed, slandered, and made an ass out of on social media by these hateful clowns, we told them all to go f*ck themselves and never set foot on our property again unless they desire an ass-whooping. These people are Advent Lutherans, and they are certifiably insane! My S-I-L actually has people believing that the Holy Spirit came over her on her way to work in rush hour traffic one day and "healed" her of a somewhat serious illness she had. Delusions of grandeur, much? More like "whacked in the head." Best thing I ever did was get away from these horrible people.....took me YEARS to get over their mutherfuggery, but I tell you the truth - best thing I ever did was get the hell away from their hateful bullsh*t.

Best thing to do with toxic individuals (or family) is to remove them from your life like the cancer they are.

i am sorry that on my first post i am asking for help and advice but i am at my wits end.

i have been brought up a witness all my life and it is all i know.

i am an ex-elder and pioneer and i don't know anybody outside of the congregation.. i have been unhappy for so long and wanted to leave.

I'm totally with Nathan Natas and Sparrow on this one: I'm floored that such a man-child as this was actually an appointed ELDER, out over other grown adults!

This is a fine example of what cult indoctrination and upbringing produces: A 28-yr old virgin who still lives in his parents basement and does janitorial work. Scrub toilets as a nobody by day, then at night throw on a cheap JC Penny suit and go Lord it over others as a some spiritual "Prince." Classic, just classic!

Why don't you go beg your WT Governing Body to help you out? After all, "Jehovah provides", as I'm sure you've told others as an Elder, right? They are your loving spiritual "family", so go forth, be warm and well fed and remember, even Jesus and the Apostle Paul didn't have a pillow to rest their heads!

ok so a car pulls up to the house and 3 eldurrs from my dads congo come up.

they come in and have thee nerve to ask me to step out so they can speak to pops!!!!

this is the good part.....pops says...and i quote " whatever needs to be said..can be said in front of my son".

So the Elders are making "Shepherding calls" in the form of shake-downs for money from the Elderly? Wow.....now I've heard it all......this takes the cake. No question about it, this religion is a total fraud. I would have told those Elders to go beg for their congregations money back from WT HQ, since HQ was kind enough to demand it all be sent in last year! Let them beg for their own money back! $1 billion dollars in sales, and local Elders have to resort to shaking down the elderly for money to pay measly monthly bills. Wow, just wow!!

Should have told them, "What are you doing here? You should pray more, after all - JEHOVAH PROVIDES!"

Should I get babtized?

i know this sounds like a ridiculous question but i was talking with my mom in the car today and of course we got on the topic of getting babtized again.

she told me that jehovah holds me accountable for my sins regardless of wether i am babtized or not so i have no reason to be holding back because it won't change anything.

my parents are the type of super strict jw who will shun you just for not being a witness.

Question about visiting bethel ... akward moment at the end

since there a couple of ex-bethelites here, and a lot of people from the greater ny area who have probably visited the bethel in brooklyn and patterson many times, maybe they can shed some light into this curious question we (my wife and me) have for awhile.. so a couple of years ago, we happaned to be in the states and also went to visit the bethels in brooklyn and patterson.

we had the full package, what i mean is, not only we took the tour, but we also had someone to invite us for lunch.

while we wanted to enjoy our stay there, there was always a weird feeling being there.

Surely they weren't expecting money, for the love of money is the root of all evil. And besides, seeing as how they are at the "Lord's House", I'm certain that "Jehovah provides." I would have told them to go back to work, be warm and well fed. lol.

he totally departed from the subject matter which is the watchtower of september 15, 2014, pages 3-6. he was so far off the reservation, it wasn't funny.

here are a few highlights of what was said: 1) if any brother asked why they haven’t been appointed, and wants to know if there is a problem or condition that exists, that brother is too “presumptuous” and therefore, can’t be used.

^^^^ That talk from a Bethelite or other higher-up, right there ^^^ that's the kind of shit that wakes long-time members up. It takes being kicked while you're down, or finally insulting ones intelligence beyond repair, for that "light-bulb moment" when you realize you've had enough and are tired of eating the shit sandwich and told to like it.

Congrats. Your wife may just be waking up after her long, long sleep. Keep spoon-feeding her more info.

Assemblies - Before and After Waking Up

happy friday to all!.

i haven't been to a meeting for maybe 10 years.

i only know what's happening nowadays from the experiences i read here or the internet in general.. anyway, on to the topic: i started attending meetings at the age of 7. as a kid, the only thing i looked forward to at the assemblies (circuit/district) was walking around veteran's stadium (philadelphia district convention) during intermission, hanging with friends, looking at girls (as i got a little older) and trying to have enough tickets to get pizza!.

Ahhh yes......"The Vet". One who had attended that concrete circular hell will never forget it. You either froze your balls off, or nearly died of heat stroke. It was usually the latter. I remember sitting up top, like at the VERY top around 1983-84. In July or so. It was PURE HELL. You couldn't hear a damn thing at that elevation except echo, and you got the full blast of the sun for not just hours, but DAYS on end because DC's were like 4-6 days or something.

Circuit Assembly? I remember being very young, and going down to a race and/or polo track. That was kind of neat. But mostly, it was the old Grantville Assembly Hall. Back when they actually served FOOD!! Back when the carpet and seats were ORANGE! When they had a woman actually play a grand piano up at the bottom of the stage. It had food service and a dining room! It also had the coolest baptismal pool I've ever seen in my life. My parents got dunked there around 1982 or so. I was witnessed it at age 3, and still remember it. The pool was great because the walls surrounding it were this nature seen, with frogs, birds, etc. I don't mean painted, I mean 3D painted, etc. There were also little waterfalls trickling down the sides, of real water! The railing was a cast iron, that I can still smell/taste even 30+ years later.

But seriously, CA's and DC's were the some of the most boring times of my life. School was 1000 x more preferable to me, as it kept my attention and I could take a leak without getting the "frown" from my parents.

5 baptisms, mostly young girls (18-20 range) and one that look older (over 20).
