Makes me really wonder, just how many more trapped and enslaved people like this are still in the WT Cult.

Disassociation revealed what type of man my father really is.
by Paul Mooney ini began my exit from the jehovah’s witness organization about 5 years.
i was a 4th generation born-in, with all the baggage that comes with having the “spiritual heritage” attached to the group.
i was an elder/bethelite/pioneer/whatever other useless privilege there was, i had no family or friends outside of the organization… my entire life was that org.

We are STRONG, NOT Weak!!!
by Divergent intoday's text:.
thursday, october 20. assist those who are weak.—acts 20:35.. you may know from personal experience that it can take time to recover from a debilitating physical illness.
similarly, a christian who has been weakened by personal difficulties or very trying circumstances may need time to regain spiritual strength.

Yes, yes.....the JW's just have to keep telling themselves that they are "Strong" and everyone else is "weak."
Saying the same thing over and over again doesn't make it true.....unless you're in a mind-controlling cult. Then it's repetition for emphasis.

Wow! Just watched that documentary on the Diamond Sutra; very interesting history and restoration process! I loved seeing the end result of it being stored in that nice custom wood box to be preserved for future generations. Very nice!

Another "good" elder might be getting the axe....
by humblepotato inso our congregation is full of hardliner elders, 3 of them, who are not gentle, kind or loving.. people have either moved away or quit trying because one elder inparticular was going to drive them crazy with all his rules and nit picking and being righteous over much.
(and he is pissed that he hasn't been accepted to the school.
hmmm, i wonder why!).

Send him an anonymous email praising him for his efforts, and with a link to this forum and JWfacts. That should help him out!

Love for the Hate
by IronSharpensIron ini just wanted to share a perspective related to my experience with leaving the jw.
at this point, i have been df'd since i was 18. i'm 25, happily married with 2 fantastic children.
after being miserably at odds with my parents and extended family, i've come to some realizations as follows.. i struggled with the conditional nature of my parent's love- talking to me until it bothered their conscience, then cutting me off.

So you've decided to open your life and the lives of your children, up to emotional and spiritual abuse? Good luck with that shit! Please, tell us how that works out for you?

We are imperfect
by HereIgo ini can't tell you how many times i have heard this while growing up as a witness.
every time i questioned hypocrisy in the org i was told " well we are imperfect" and its was beyond annoying.
at what point does "imperfect" turn into just not christian?
-
WingCommander
Scully above totally nailed it and said about what I was going to say. The "Org" is run by imperfect men, but YOU as a rank-n-file are expected to be perfect, under threat of direct punishment in the form of reprove, privileges revokes, disfellowshipping, and shunning, and eventually eternal death. So much for forgiveness, aye?

Looking into a highly controlling, manipulative, Pharisaical CULT like JW's, Seventh Day Adventists, Mormons, or Scientology?
Good luck with that sh*t!!!!!
