probably you noticed that my avatar is a photo of steve harris, bassist of iron maiden.

i have quite a few years that i started to listen this kind of music, even when i was in the jwland.

although it was a "no-no" in the borders of jwland, i knew a lot of brothers and sisters that listened and loved this kind of music.

How do you find reddit

just curious but how do the people off this forum find reddit.

for myself i find reddit to be sadly lacking in the jw world.

i just don't find the depth there e.g one sentence replies, trying to be funny.

Oh yeah, I post more on there than here now. Not because I don't still luv this site, but because that one is 10x more active. You have to understand, REDDIT is HUGE with the youth. They go right to it. Just hit the "New" tab on the xJW forum to see all of the messages in order. It makes it less confusing when browsing there. Many cross-overs from here as well. It is growing by leaps and bounds, and many do give Props to this forum and sites like JWFACTS as well. It's not competition, but instead camaraderie!

And yes, many people trip over their dicks over Lloyd Evans. This is because the youth that are showing up know absolutely NOTHING about his past history of douchebaggery on here and facebook. They think he's the 2nd Coming of Ray Franz or something. It's really sick!!!! He has his moments, but it's hard to overlook his previous behaviour and also his self-aggrandizing ego.

The entire process you just described (of being sent somewhere you knew nothing about, when your expertise was a different vocation) is one of breaking you down mentally and physically, and then building you back up as they see fit. in retrospect: RBCs vs LDCs / the hype about a lot of new construction and subsequent abrupt halt to construction

so, now that some time has passed, i’d like some input/thoughts/analysis/etc.

on the jw construction situation in the last few years.. first, why did they discontinue the rbc arrangement and institute the ldc arrangement?

was it for more and/or better control?

everything really is up for grabs.. our sense of "absolutes" is always under fire.

we are taught to invest all of our belief in the very idea of something being true and absolute and constant.but--is that illusory?.

examine how this works: jesus was tortured and murdered by hanging him on a cross.

How come right after WWII, the Allies enacted "Directive 30", which instituted broad sweeping deletion of anything having to do with the historical, cultural, and institutional regime of the Nazi's. That was ok, but somehow we won't do the same with our own racist, oppressive, losing Confederate past? Seems pretty damned hypocritical to me, to hold another nation like Germany to a higher standard, when we ourselves glorify such people as Confederate Generals.

so im not in school yet but i was rethinking over somethings that happened from that school year.i know that one person that is a jw in my school.now we had gym together but he is a grade up from me when i would do something that didnt seem right and something we shouldnt do he gave me a mean look or he would just stop hanging out and walk a way so i stoped talking to him for my own good.

i just kinda feel bad for not talking to him but if i do something that seems bad in the jw eye i feel like he might tell the elders.. and i dont need that right now.....
