  Letter to my sons, why I left WT -- 1975 and lies were reasons

  several months ago i wrote a letter to two of my sons, still jw.

  the letter is 41 years belated.

  i am now 78 years old so this was a bucket list item.

  Damn.......your son's would have to be brain-dead zombies to not shed a tear after reading that. I'll be 40 this year, and even I remember most of what you are talking about. The early 1980's were pure WT Gold when it came to printing End-Times apocalyptic bullshit, and the 1914, Generation, etc WatchTower covers are proof of it. I can't believe you didn't focus on that a bit more.....as they were young men in the early 1980's, and probably remember it very clearly as well. They are in their 50's? Well then, they've seen the "evolution" of this weird sect into a full-blown cult. You'd have to have shit for brains to deny it at this point in time. Who knows what your letter might stir up in their brains. Good luck.

  How about another perspective?

  Maybe it's not so much about wasting the JW's time, as much as it is the fear the potential recruit (AKA: Study) will actually be SMART, and decide to fact-cheque and research what the JW's are telling them, OUTSIDE of JW-approved sources?

  We're hearing more and more about this on the forums: JW's, even "Lifers" that have been woken up because their Study decided to look outside of the JW-approved liter-a-trash and go onto Google. Then, the appalled Study shares the info with the JW and demands some answers. Well, the JW of course has to research this matter for themselves in order to clear it up. Imagine the JW's surprise when shit don't add up!! Sometimes, the "awoken" JW then goes and starts telling close JW friends, more liberal Elder types, etc.

  I see this as a control tactic by the Governing Body to keep JW's moving. The more time the JW spends answering a thinking-person's questions, the more likely they are to fall upon the multitude of free information on Google.

  Remember, pretty much everything the WT HQ puts out now is not pro-active, but RE-active. As-in, they are reacting to what they are being told by the CO's reporting back to HQ from the field.

  when the doctor pulled my screaming body out of mom all those 7 decades ago, i landed in a post-wwii world.the world of 1947--compared to today's world--an alien planet.. the world i live in today has nothing in common with the world in which i grew up.. there were no cell phones back then--there were black telephones with a dial-tone and an operator who placed your call.

  everywhere you found telephone booths!

  a call was a nickel.where did all those telephone booths go?i dunno.where did my whole world go?i dunno.. tv sets were huge boxes with tubes and small screens.

  RBC... something I heard this weekend and I want to confirm

  i have not been around much or even cared to dig into jw land.

  i been working on moving to a new place and leaving behind my old jw past, even the neighborhood where it all happened.. but something i heard this weekend had me thinking.

  my mother in law has a small, run down wooden home near the kh where we used to attend.

  Would YOU want to lodge in some hoarded up dump? No? Than what exactly makes their "demands" out of the ordinary? Seems like a legit, appropriate request to me. Don't want to house volunteers? Don't offer up your place. A wood shack doesn't sound very comfy to me. Just sayin'.

  when i first seen this website i actually thought it was a jw website hence the home page and not an ex jw website and i posted a topic thinking people were real witnesses then i quickly discovered it was not and all these people were commenting and embarrassing me and i couldn’t even delete the thread.

  then i asked the admin to delete it and i said it was very misleading saying it’s a jw page and he’s like are you serious i deleted your topic and now you are attacking me and it clearly says ex jw page.

  he was very rude and btw no where does it say ex jw and you should be able to delete your own threads you start.

  Saying hello again

  just saying i’m still alive and greeting everyone, veterans and newcomers to this forum.. 2018 was a year with a lot of turmoil in my life; me and my wife separated, then reunited months later, and spent the second half of the year healing the emotional wounds from that episode.

  that, along with a record year in terms of my business meant that choices had to be made regarding my time, and i decided to focus on my marriage instead of other endeavours.

  it seemed to have paid off.

  we just held our 3rd annual new year's day party.. we kept the list down to thirty invites this year with the provision that they could bring guests.

  All knives need to be confiscated, even a Chef's block. Who besides a Chef needs a filet or butcher knife? Only a brut needs such an item. They are deadly! Anything beyond say a box cutter should be illegal!
