Andrew Dice Clay made an entire career out of offending people. He used to fill Madison Square Garden several nights in a row. People back in the 80's understood that he was offensive, and that nothing was off limits. So they weren't just laughing at others, but at themselves. That started to change in the mid to late 90's. Political Correctness has run amok. Today's generation of pacifist, pussified, dumbass, fat, gamer, spoiled, gender-confused, bathroom confused, DUMBASSES is the result. If China were to ever try to invade the US, they'd easily overthrow those types.

Does Today’s Comedy Offend You?
by minimus inthere was a time we could laugh about mindless silly things.
someone using an ethnic accent, making fun of their own race, making fun of someone’s intelligent, etc.
we could laugh without feeling constantly offended , upset or disturbed.

Do You Think People Have Forgotten About 9/11?
by minimus inafter all these years, it seems to me that people do not properly take note of what happened on this date in 2001. for some, it’s like nothing major happened.
for me it is a day of reflection..

I had just turned 22 a month before. 9/11 was my "Generations" JFK, or Pearl Harbor. Nobody forgets where they were or what they were doing when they first heard about the 1st plane crashing into the WTC. Then, turning on the radio, nearest TV, or internet sites.
I live a few hundred miles south in Pennsylvania. It was an absolutely beautiful day. I mean spectacular. Crisp, perfect temperature, and that lasted all day here on the east coast. In all honesty, that added to the surreal feeling of the day. It's like it was all so hard to take in because of how wonderful the weather was. It wasn't dark or gloomy. Early morning, I was getting my car inspected, then drove promptly to work. I got to work at about 9:15. Everyone was already talking about it, watching it on the TV, and on the internet as well. (slow as it was back then, but not bad actually) I hadn't had the radio on on my way to work, so it was news to me.
The next few weeks were a DAZE. Even though I had been physically "out" of the JW's since about 15, I was still pretty much mentally "in." I held to the JW belief system. I figured this was the start of the Great Tribulation. Or did I? I honestly did NOT hurry back to the Kingdumb Hell like so many others did. I didn't attend at all. Neither did my mother. It was all such a shock, and I figured if it was the Time of the End, than so be it. I knew there'd be war of this, but to still be here in 2019, with no Armageddon in sight? Never even occurred to me. I just turned 40 in August. Never thought I'd be this age in This System of Things. Here I am! 2020 is just around the corner. Than, 2021 - and 20 years since 9/11.
I now understand how my parents felt as they reflected where THEY were on Nov 22nd, 1963. They used to speak of "before and after" when referring to it. Truly, there was a "before 9/11", and there is now an "after."

Cause of Mass Shootings Mental Health?
by blondie ini have been sad to see so many groups and individuals say that the cause of these events are the mental status of the shooters.
i have looked over the backgrounds of these shooters, and few had medically identified mental health issues.
it is too easy to think that people shoot or kill other people because they are mentally ill.. actually, many or most people with real mental illnesses are most likely to be the victims of others.. i have been a volunteer with the organization called nami (national alliance of mental lillness) for 25 years now.

West Texas Shooter Update: It's now been reported that shooter had recently had a string of mental issues, and was in fact DENIED a weapon due to a background check being performed when he went to purchase one. The FBI and ATF are looking into how he obtained an AR rifle. (illegally, duh!)
So, tell me again how many of these shooters are SANE and how all of the gun laws the USA currently has fails everyone?

Saw it this past weekend, completely agree with your assessment. (and I'm a young 40) I thoroughly enjoyed this time capsule flashback fantasy. I knew Rick Dalton's character was based loosely on a mixture of Burt Reynolds, Clint Eastwood, etc. And Brad Pitt? Looking more and more like Robert Redford as the years go by!!!!! Seeing Kurt Russell in there was a nice touch as well. There were some nice Easter Eggs to be seen, if you knew what you were looking at. For instance, one of the first shots of the studio parking lot when Rick and his stunt double were leaving, was shown panning out from the top. In the lot, you can see plain as day a red Ferrari 250GT California. It was an incredible car back then, and one of the world's most desirable and valuable cars today. ($25 million at auction). Younger people would know this car as the Ferrari in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
I LOVED the ending. Loved how QT pulled us in, expecting the absolute worst, but gave us the absolute BEST. A real "what if" or "what could have been" experience.
Brilliant.

FYI: Amos 'N Andy was voiced by WHITE PEOPLE doing imitations of "southern Negroes."
Ahhhhhh yesssss! The "Good ol' Days!"
My late grandmother was born in 1918. She lived thru the Great Depression, WWII, Korea, Cuban Missile Crisis, JFK, RFK, Vietnam, Cold War, JW's, both Gulf Wars, 9/11.
I can assure you she had some fond memories of her time growing up in the Great Depression, but going barefoot and eating potato-rock soup wasn't one of them.
Perspective.

Last minute change of venue for 2019 JW regional convention
by sir82 injw regional conventions scheduled to be held in rochester ny in august 2019, will instead be held in wilkes-barre, pa.. here is the story:.
https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/2019/07/09/jehovahs-witnesses-pull-conventions-unable-reach-deal-pegula-sports/1685174001/.
looks like the new management of the rochester arena didn't like playing "hardball" with the jw negotiation team, and just decided to close their doors.. the group is looking at returning to rochester next summer, miller said, adding this is "not a cold, hard break.

What a dick move by your "sperm donour." I say that, because this gelatinous sack of human flesh doesn't deserve to be called a "Father."
