Cults don't change. In fact, I'd wager that they'll buckle down twice as hard and try to oust any dissenters and leave only a smaller, more fanatical, more zealous group of brain-dead followers. In the JW's, if you have a brain you are to leave it at the door or else don't bother being baptized.

Have I ever run into and been fooled by a total phony in my lifetime? Sure have! Case in point, my sister-in-law.
She's the CEO of a Bank. Dresses the part. Is respected in the community because she does everything someone in her position is supposed to do. Does all manner "charity" work. Goes to church every Sunday. Helps with the Blood Drive. Used to teach Sunday School. Isn't she swell? NOT.
My sister-in-law is a two-faced, manipulative, conniving, egotistical, self-centered narcissist with a messiah complex, who lacks true empathy or remorse for anyone but herself. She only cares about people that somehow benefit HER and her goals. Everyone else is expendable. Think I'm kidding? How else could someone who started as a bank teller claw her way up to eventually become CEO without a shred of post-high school education? That takes some serious clawing and backstabbing. At first when I met her, I had thought to give her a chance. I thought my wife's tales of how horrible it was to grow up with this manipulative twerp was over-exaggerated and just "kid" stuff. I was WRONG. Dead wrong. What's worse, is that she taught her (2) daughters to be equally as cruel, manipulative, and two-faced as she is. It's a real family affair now. As for my wife's parents, they are much like Louis Lane....they see what they want to see, and trying to tell them of how horrible this woman has been to my wife, myself, and our son has been like talking to a brick wall. We were made out to be liars, etc. My wife was told by her father that I'm no longer welcome in their home anymore because I dared to speak the truth about how we'd been treated, and defend myself and my family. My wife was shocked. My F-I-L can have those poseurs!!!! He's an old man (nearly 90), and I've asked my wife, "Who do you think is going to come wipe his behind and change his diapers? When the time comes, tell him to have the favored daughter (narcissist) come do it, because I no longer give a sh*t." Ha! The only thing the sister-in-law will come around for is to put him in a home and clean out the house for herself.
So, we did the only thing we knew to do when presented with a no-win situation like this; when dealing with a sociopath such as this, it is best to remove them from your life and have ZERO contact with them. I/we have, and the last 5 years have been swell, let me tell you. They can squirm around in their own self-made dramas, and we can no longer be blamed for a single problem dealing with them. F'em! But I tell you, I learned my lesson. Up until this point in my life, I hadn't encountered someone as severe as my S-I-L. It was really shocking to see how she really was behind the crocodile smile.

The recent Royal Commission hearings have stirred up my emotions ....
by troubled mind ini hope the royal commission will be able to force the jw organization to take a serious look at itself ,and will cause some much needed changes.. i have been following the trial faithfully ,and unfortunately it has dredged up some deep pains from years ago .
you think some of that old baggage is neatly packed away never meant to see the light of day again .....but then boom there it is again .. hearing what bcg had to go through, and how she felt trying to get help from the elders was heart-wrenching.
i remember the terrible way young women were treated in the 1970's .

I'd heard a lot about this video, so I watched it myself last week on youtube. I couldn't believe the blatant, manipulative BS being spewed forth. Highly controlling and manipulative. It's so obvious to me now.....and it really has a nice "Scientology" type feel to it. As if the JW's couldn't look even more like a cult, huh? After seeing this type of crapola, I could NEVER go back to such a controlling farce. These people are crazy!

In my day as a child (1980's) you barely knew one or two of the GB's names, much less actually SAW them. Now, these clowns are everywhere, hugging and cuddling JW children and posting on instragram like some celebrity. It's repulsive! Lett and TOMO III are in a neck-and-neck race to see who can gross out more people first!
I'm betting those two have actually pushed more people OUT of the cult, then they have brought in with their idiotic rantings and lunatic decrees.

Jw kids setting off fire alarms in hotels
by purrpurr ina friend of mine is staying at a hotel next to one of the big convention sites this weekend.
yesterday she tells me one of the hotels had to be evacuated and the fire brigade called when the fire alarm went off.. it turned out to be a bunch of jw kids having a prank.
she had been speaking to the hotel manager who told her that this happens every year and only when the jw's come to stay!.

I second what another post said above; that being, that JW kids I went to school with were 10x worse than my "worldly" friends. They acted like little angels at the meetings, but at school were just the worst. Some of my classmates who knew me well, didn't believe me when I confided in them that so-and-so was ALSO a JW like myself. They thought I was nuts, because that kid was too bad, or too off the wall to be some goody-goody religious whack-job like myself!!! And once, when one of my friends confronted the other JW to ask if it was true (them being a JW), the JW kid flat-out denied it! My jaw was on the floor!!!!!! But then again, by the time I hit 7th grade, I myself stopped being recognized as a JW. In fact, I was embarrassed and hoped that most people would forget I was that weird kid who didn't celebrate ANYTHING or even their birthdays. Of course, a lot of people from primary school didn't forget. It was horrible. The JW kids were also the first to go freakin' crazy in the teen years.....acting out, rebellious, manipulative, hateful. Did I mention something like 80% of the kids around my age left the religion in their teens, never to return? Only the most brainwashed and die-hard, or the most controlled by parents stayed in out of loyalty or stupidity. Not me!
