Reddit thread re Oct 2024 WT with picture of window washer - Theme knocking people who Planned
by LongHairGal inthis thread currently has over 300 comments.. it shows a picture of an older man washing a window looking wistfully… then it talks all about how some may have doubts about not having planned and the situation they are in now that they are older, etc.
it refers to others who did plan and who supposedly have ‘apparent’ financial security.
in my opinion, the whole gist of this article is to make older witnesses feel better who did not pursue a career or plan well for retirement.. it tries to imply that those others who planned only have ‘apparent’ financial security - which is to say they don’t (?).

Financial stability can't be a pet-peeve of YHWH God's. Nope! After all, he BLESSED Job with riches after he had lost everything but remained faithful.
Any of the Israelite War Campaigns were rewarded with all of the loot and booty that they could take, AFTER they cut open the women and smashed their children against the rocks.
David was wealthy. All those foreskins must have brought in pretty penny at that pervert market?
King Solomon had more money than Midas apparently.
It was JESUS in the New Testament that seemed to have a problem with money. As-in, he didn't have any. He was born of pauper parents who worked and toiled all day. Hence, he didn't have a pillow to rest his head upon, and his ministry was one of giving to the poor, giving up riches, entering the Kingdom pennyless just like when you were born. AKA: You can't buy your way into heaven, so better to store up your riches in heaven than upon earth.
But Jesus didn't say people should be dumb or unwise and throw all caution to the wind.
The bible itself praises saving and planning as a virtue. Remember, it's not money itself that's the root of all evil, it's the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil.
Funny, WT HQ seems to LOVE money! I mean, they can never get enough of it, never give any back in the form of any sort of charity, and also basically profess that all of the gold and silver is theirs. (appointed by Jesus as His earthly rulers over all of His possessions.....invisibly of course)
Does that make them the root of all evil? Could be......could be.

Holy crap, that is an absolutely terrible ending for that poor Elder who DARED to call out WT's BS at Menlo Park.
This case really opened my eyes to what is nothing short of a huge power and money grab by WT HQ, and also shows just how closely they are following Scientology's playbook.
Having this Elder followed while his kid was in the car, and causing them to wreck? Straight outta Scientology's "Fair Game" playbook.
What an un-Christian, vile, greedy, heartless bunch of mutherfuggers to have even done this. All because the Menlo Park Congregation, thru it's Elder Body, DARED to ask,
"Why is our building (that we built and paid for) being sold, and all profits being handed over to WT HQ?"
The message from WT HQ is as plain as day: "You'll have nothing, and you'll like it! Now, back to work!"
This Elder's end is a dire warning to anyone who "witnessed" this mind-fuck: This is your reward for your lifetime of work slaving away for this ungrateful Organization = Cult.

@LongHairGal:
You remind me of my late mother by your manner of speaking. She would be 72 today. She wasn't born into the JW's, but was exposed to their literature as a child. My parents met in the mid-70's, married, and started to study with older JW's that they lived around. My mother was already a full RN into her career. My father was not a professional. Just had shit jobs (if at all) his entire life. My mother was always looked down upon because of her education and career by men and women alike. My father never held a "position" in the Congregation, so we got invited to literally NOTHING in 20+ years. A remember a few Congregation picnics before they were basically banned in the early 80's.
Thankfully, like you, my mother got fed up with this petty bullshit. Especially while my father was dying of cancer. She was working FT, taking care of my dying father at home, and the JW's? Nowhere to be found! She asked for shepherding visits and possibly even some meals. Know what the Elduhzzzz told her? To pray more, attend all the meetings, and be more regular in the Field Misery if she were depressed. Cause ya know, she had SO much free time, right? She got ZERO support from anyone, much less the Elduhzzzz. My parents were in good-standing for 20+ years, and they got nothing in the time of their need except "Do more. Give more." To top it off, the Presiding Overseer at the time (a nice fellow actually) had heart surgery. Guess what? An announcement was made from the platform about showing support to his wife. Ya know....bring food, take her out to dinner, etc. This woman? A houewife and Pioneer. Never worked outside the home in her life. My mother? ZERO announcement. Non-working Elders wife? BRING FOOD, ya good-for-nothing slaves! I was there, I heard it. Pissed me off something awful. Did I mention our elderly JW grandmother lived with us as well?
My mother was STUNNED. It was the final "Red Flag" moment for her. It started her questioning. She actually bought Ray Franz's books and read them first, after I mentioned reading about them. (a former GB member leaving, etc) So she woke up. Started a retirement plan, improved her life. Started accepting work invitations to do stuff from co-workers. Her live improved immensely after leaving the dumbass JW's in the dust.
Here's another fine example of the JW's "Christian Love." Summer of 1993 or 1994. My JW mother at the time decided to try to Pioneer during the summer. (Again, while working a FT job!)
So one Sunday, I'm sitting in the WatchTower study Q&A. My mom goes downstairs to the bathroom. She comes back, in tears. I ask her what's wrong? She proceeds to tell me that this old snooty Pioneer bitch confronted her in the Foyer with her teenage granddaughter, and then proceeded to actually circle and berate my mother and tear her down. Asking my mom "who she thinks she is trying to Pioneer, what her job and fancy education." Etc, etc. OMG......I was 14-15 at the time, but I was soooooo pissed off that I went and spoke to the Elders, and told them to get this old bitch in her place, cause if THEY didn't, I was gonna put my first in her face. Hateful cunt! They got the message, as they didn't even question me.....they went right to her.
But this ^^^^ type of shit above, is the dumbass crap we've all had to put up with. Hateful bullshit being passed off as "Christian Love." Basically, "eat shit, like it, and come back for seconds!" Nah.....I'm good, go fuck yourselves JW's!

Yes, WT HQ is hemorrhaging money, and they NEED fresh infusions of money, now!
Too bad infusions and transfusions are banned by WT's own doctrine. D'oh!
Too bad, too bad! I imagine the sighing and moaning and gnashing of teeth is great up on King's Drive. Oh well! Nothing to worry about, because after all, "Jehovah provides!" I'm sure the exact amounts of cash needed will magically appear like Manna from heaven, or like those Assembly experiences you hear about on stage.
Hear that Lett? All you gotta do is pray more, attend all the meetings, and be more regular in the Field Ministry, then you'll be blessed with another gold watch and maybe even ....... eyebrows that aren't totally insane!
Praise Jah you people!

Nah, I'm good. I had enough of biblical speculation as I grew up having to study the old red "Revelation: It's Grand Climax at Hand" book.
I don't need need to read/see/hear another whack-a-do interpretation from some self-prophesied biblical authority or false profit.
Simon: You even gonna leave this shit up on here?

You know how we know WT HQ is bleeding to death financially? When all of the begging and guilting for donations and to give started, going back to 2014! They even went so far as to place images in the magazine of the poor widow with an empty fridge, placing a coin into a contribution box! And Caleb and Sophia giving up their allowances and ice cream money! TOMO III stating that, "even the poor should not show up empty handed."
It was those things above that really sealed it for me as to how dire the situation is for them. I mean, that shit I just listed is absolutely JAW-DROPPING, in your face audacity from a group who give exactly ZERO back to their pauper flock! They do ZERO charity work and have ZERO programs in place to help their members. Yet, they simultaneously "poor mouth" like THEY are the ones who are needy? GTFOOH with that BS, Governing Bozo Grifters!

About SDA's and JW's having a "slight increase in attendance" during the COVID pandemic:
Well, "Duhhhhhh!" They are BOTH end-times apocalyptic cults! Any increase during any sort of world-wide plight is 1000% predictable. Previous example: 9/11. We know many who leave are sometimes POMI, so when something scary happens, their minds revert back to their cult programming. Get back to Mother's safe teet! Grab on for a while! Then, after everything cools off and settles down, they all leave again, along with other existing members who are fed up with the "Cry Wolf" mentality and not seeing "The End" come again. They finally see the cult is full of shit, and leave.
Someone above mentioned the great exodus of people from religions in Europe in the decade after WWII.
Again I say, "Duhhhhhh!" WW2, the greatest global conflict the world has ever seen, with atrocities that still haven't been matched in modern day. You had highly religious people (no matter what their faith: Jews, Catholics, etc) all at war, all praying to make it thru. In particular the suffering ones in the Death Camps.....and what did they receive in response to their prayers? Crickets chirping. Gas chambers and ovens. Entire communities, towns, cities (think Western USSR) wiped off the face of planet. Oh sure, the Allied troops eventually rolled in to liberate the Camps, but 99% of everyone was already DEAD, stacked like cord-wood.
The remaining? Scarred for life, and many pissed at God and re-examining if they believe he even exists. So many gave up on the concept on a Higher Power, because they saw when the going got tough, REALLY tough, they were on their own. So they went on with life, got married, had kids and grandkids. You think they pushed them into the churches? Hell noooooooo! So golly gee, big mystery as to how atheism exploded in Europe after WW2. And this isn't even touching the subject of all the past church history and sexual abuse.
So please, stop with all the bullshit about SDA's and JW's experiencing an "increase." Every single photo from every Convention this summer PROVES the JW's are losing membership. So are the recent changes. What? You think the GB is doing this out of the kindness of their hearts? LOL!!!! They've been forced to do this, or else risk losing even more members. If stats were good.....increasing even, you think they'd loosen their grips? LOL!
If you want to see what JW's and SDA's will look like in the future, go find a Christadelphian Congregation and sit in on a meeting and look around at the remaining grey hairs. That is, IF you can find a Congregation to attend. SDA's? They'll be around a little longer, as they've adapted quicker and also have better member services. Mormons are KING for member services, but even that isn't stopping the hemorrhaging over there. What will keep them going the longest is their land holding assets and huge savings and investment portfolio.

I still read on Reddit. (though no longer post) Occasionally, I'll venture over to the ex-Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) sub and catch up a bit. It's been a long time. Sometimes the ex-Mormon sub as well.
The ex-SDA one is really something. Why? Because seeing as how SDA's and JW's came from the same Millerite Advent Movement (and the consequent Great Disappointment) they share very similar concepts, doctrine, and also loaded cult language. They also share ex-communicating, Elder Bodies, similar looking literature, etc. E.G. White's writings are still held up as authority, in similar to how the Governing Body is today, and unquestioning loyalty is expected. Now Mormons? The only similarity there is the time period, the use of the name Jehovah, Elders, cult-tactics, etc. But SDA's? Well, when you skip over to that Sub it's like you've entered a parallel universe. Almost the same, but not quite.
Anyway, the point of all of this is what I noticed upon reading down thru the threads:
1. COVID really allowed members to stop, ask questions, research things they couldn't before. The cult hamster wheel of activity stopped, and cognitive dissonance was allowed to simmer to a boiling point.
2. SDA's also believe only they have the truth, and also refer to it as "The Truth." Creepy and familiar as hell!
3. They have evangelical schools and hamster wheel activities (think SKE, Gilead, etc) to keep them busy.
4. A lot of pressure to conform to their health and dress standards.
5. You see alot of F.O.G. being talked about - FEAR, OBLIGATION, and GUILT to keep their rank-n-file in line.
6. You see a lot of people talking about how they or their families were used and spit out, with absolutely NOTHING to show for it. (think teachers in their schools, being kicked to the curb like JW Bethelites)
7. You see a lot of the similar "waking up" patterns being talked about. People getting fed the fugg up with all the cults bullshit, and saying "Enough is enough" and voting with their feet, and with their wallets.
8. Just like the JW's, the youth aren't having it anymore. They've got access to this thing called "The Internet" and they are using it. Hell, any of them under 25 grew up with it, used it since little on up. Now, those fruits of the freedom of the information highway are ripening, and dropping right off the tree and not just walking, but flat-out RUNNING AWAY from these dumbass cults and their dumbass demands and ultimatums. Good!
9. A lot of the above can also be said of the ex-Mormon sub, and also about Scientology. It's estimated that there's now less than 40,000 Scientologists worldwide, no matter what their (made-up) internal numbers profess. Sound familiar? Who the hell believes that there are 8 million baptized JW's, and as high as 20 million (attending the Memorial) JW's on planet earth? LOL! Not me! I think the true number is about 2 - 3 Million, tops. The explosion over on the Reddit sub is incredible, especially since COVID. The last 5 years are really something! When I joined there, it was 15,000 members, if that. Now? Over 100,000. And just think.....that's only the people that have hit the "JOIN" button for that sub. I'd guess 10x that number actually read there everyday, but don't dare comment or JOIN the Sub for fear of someone finding out. Any wonder why WT is shitting their pants and making hasty changes? lol
10. Something else about visiting other cult "Ex" subs: You already think they're full of shit. So nothing to worry about. If you are active JW, and you read those "other" ex-cult member Subs, you can't help but to see the similarities. It's smacks you in the brain. And the big American ones: Mormons and SDA's and Scientology, really do seem to operate on the same playbook as the JW's. Since you already call "bullshit" on those other ones, all of a sudden you see the correlation and call "bullshit" on the JW stuff and not feel guilty. Boom! You're starting your path out the door. I know researching and coming across other cults really opened my eyes many many years ago.
Just an interesting exercise in viewing several long-standing cults starting to implode.
