More and more just like a liberal! If you have nothing to reason with, start suggesting that your opponent is a JW or a Hitler, etc. When the facts aren't on your side, be a good liberal and start slinging mud.

How ironic! The ones making such a big fuss because they can't stand Dr. Laura are claiming to be the ones content to leave things as they are!

I'd much rather be a childish liberal, as opposed to a judgmental conservative.

And the ones judging Dr. Laura with all the condemnation they can muster are claiming to be the ones who are not judgmental! Honestly, you liberals are not only ashamed of being identified as liberals, you even have no idea what it means to be one.

It's so simple -- Matthew 24

so here i was this evening, reading the old familiar matthew 24 with the kids before bedtime, but i was reading out of our very nice contemporary parallel new testament, specifically the message version, and i had this sudden realization: jesus didn't give us a really complicated, mysterious prophecy that had different types and antitypes -- he was simply continuing his original message (love your neighbor, love god).

remember verse 12 about the love of the many cooling off?

the verse right after that talks about enduring to the end.

First of all, you're greatly mistaken in your private interpretation that the oil stands for knowledge. There is nothing in the context that supports this theory you invented.

Secondly, it is a twisting of the Scriptures to say that Bible truth is hidden between the lines. If that were true, then any old interpretation that people seem to find hidden "between the lines" would be acceptable. There is no need to add to the Scriptures. All Scripture is all we need. We don't need false teachers coming along to tell us that the text doesn't mean what it plainly says because there are "secret" encoded messages hidden between the lines. Such thinking is utter foolishness, plain and simple. Its design is to provide an excuse for private speculation.

Thirdly, your emphasis on "extra" things has no scriptural basis. Neither the word nor the idea is in the context.

So, what then is it to which you say "I agree"?

You obviously have not read all my posts.

I have read your posts--all of them, and I found that not even one of them contributed anything of value to this discussion. Why are you liberals so ashamed of being called liberals? I'm a conservative and glad that I am. I have no reason to hide it. But it beats me why those of you on the other side of the fence are so afraid to admit what you are.

Yes, but I think you need a dictionary. Being childish--a perfectly easy to understand word--is nothing to be proud of though you for some strange reason seem to think that it is. Oh, yes--I nearly forgot--you're a liberal, and liberals have their own special language.

I am neither liberal nor conservative.

If you're not a liberal, why are you acting like one? And by the way, you misinterpret Jesus just as much as you misinterpret Dr. Laura. Jesus nowhere recommended the silliness and foolishness that are embodied in being childish.

Andee,

A great post! You hit on one word that, to me, says it all: "I'm willing to be fair in my opinions of her." That's what my argument comes down to. I see no fairness at all in cheap shots that accuse the woman of hate speech and that have labeled her everything from bitch to another Hitler.
