Terrorist Attacks in Sri Lanka

three christian churches and three luxury hotels have been attacked in sri lanka this morning resulting in more than 130 deaths.. buddhism is the state religion in sri lanka accounting for 70% of the population, hindus make up 12% with islam and christianity comprising 9% and 7% respectively.

no group has yet claimed responsibility.

a civil war between government forces and separatist tamil tigers ended in 2009. the war lasted 26 years and cost at least 70,000 lives.

All the more reason to limit the number of Muslims allowed to enter a country - at the very least, limit those that embrace the militant aggressive form of Islam that is 100% incompatible with Western values and human rights. Certainly don't offer preferential treatment to them as potential immigrants as currently happens.

Japan has taken notice. That's why she won't accept Muslim refugees.

She didn't care what anybody said at the time. Still doesn't. Now she watches relatively peacefully while those that criticized Japan's stance are having to deal with the problems.

i was doing research on another topic and this question came to mind.

notice how the wts dances around the question below and then my comments about that and whether historically did the wts see isaiah as applying to all jws or only anointed members, spiritual israel (galatians 6:16)?.

are christians to be witnesses of jesus or jehovah?.

I say we are witnesses of Jehovah. Because Jesus' will was to do his Father's will. He was our example to the means of serving God not of serving Jesus. But I think Jesus will accept service of him as long as that service glorifies his Father.

I remember when they had night sessions. Three sessions a day. I liked them. If you had a boring speaker you took a nap. Good traveling. Dramas were good, food was good, all your friends were there, good socializing between sessions, everybody was nice. Good memories.

Memories from the Edge

when waking up it often isn't an instant switch, there's a period of time when your conflicted feelings are heightened and most uncomfortable.

can anyone remember specific instances in the time before you fully woke up that made you uncomfortable or guilty, despite you still being a 'believer'?.

i can think of two right now, both about a year or two before i woke up:.

The time we kept rehashing the "Revelation" book at the book studies over and over and over again. The way they, the WTS, kept talking about themselves in the book. Was there nothing else to talk about? What did they have to keep proving? Became a real bore. That's when I felt I was being indoctrinated. That was the vinegar in the milk for me.

I was also concerned of the constant literature push. I saw and liked the placement of Bibles but saw less campaigns of that. Among the conversation starters among the pioneers were the count of hours spent or the count of magazines placed. Any count of Bibles? Anyone?

Then there was a couple of COs where I can sense they were tried of being the fountain of constant spirituality and encouragement. I often wondered, "who encourages them?". There were times I really wanted to take the POs and their wives out for simple entertainment that didn't require spirituality but in itself harmless. Like go play miniature golf or watch a little league baseball game just for the laughs. But I felt I'd be ridiculed or disciplined for not doing something preaching or spiritual.
