  Trying to look up ex elder Jack London

  after a catch up phone call with a friend who left the wt around the same time as me, i learned that an elder from my old cong has since left as well and considered apostate.

  i would like to catch up with jack london and his wife nacy, so if any of you aussies know him or his whereabouts please email me at [email protected] it would be greatly appreciated.

  Life, death and other musings

  i have been absent from here for afew days.

  on thursday my hubby got a phonecall from his dearest and best friend's partner that the tumour in his brain had agressively spread and it was looking like time is just about up.

  we have known that this was coming for about 2 years since he was diagnosed with the cancer but even now it is a shock and very numbing to know you will lose a dear friend soon.

On Thursday my hubby got a phonecall from his dearest and best friend's partner that the tumour in his brain had agressively spread and it was looking like time is just about up. We have known that this was coming for about 2 years since he was diagnosed with the cancer but even now it is a shock and very numbing to know you will lose a dear friend soon. Hubby left on Friday to be with him. A 7 hour drive. I think he would have walked over hot coals to support his friend at such an emotional time. Naturally all the family are beside themselves with the bad news of the activity of the cancer. It was originally hoped that he would be able to spend xmas with his 4 year old son. It doesn't look likely now. Our friend is only 32. So young, so strong, so loved. Please spare a kind thought for my hubby as he helps his school yard mate deal with what is the last days of his life, the last times he will hold his sweet boy and look into his partner's eyes. Each minute will be cherished and committed to memory to be recalled, painfully at first, but as time passes, with fondness and love. Please go hold close someone you love, our time together is already brief enough. **tears**

  this is an amplification and adjustment in understanding of what appears in the watchtower of november 15, 1974, pages 703-704, and of february 15, 1978, pages 30-32. those who acted on the basis of the knowledge they had at the time are not to be criticized.

  nor would this affect the standing of a person who in the past believed that a mates perverted sexual conduct within marriage amounted to porneia and, hence, obtained a divorce and is now remarried.

  with this one little footnote in the wt it wiped out folks very lives- notice they refer to such a major doctrinal shift as an "amplification and adjustment in understanding".

  Ozzie's Wine of the Month - December

  we've missed posting our wine of choice for the past couple of months because.....well......we've stuck to our favoured labels of shiraz.

  tonight, however, we've just returned from the apostates restaurant and old ozzie decided to take something new for the meal.

  i selected an italian wine this time.

  Hey Ozzie,

  You will have to look out for wine by Andrew Peace, they were originally an export label only, but now supply domestic as well. They are a Swan Hill Vic., maker. I used to work with the winemaker's wife. The wines I tasted from them were all quite scrummy *licks lips* so worth checking your local cellar for them.

  E-man - that would be my pick of the scenes in Life of Brian, narrowly edging out the one where Pilate frees a condemned man "fwee Bwian" baaahahahahahaha!

  I think my Monty Python pick would be the Yorkshiremen though. "I had to lick road clean, 'wit tongue" "LUXURY!!!" - Love it.

  midi files leave alot to be desired, don't they Viv?! But it a great piece of music...the theme from Forrest Gump, always makes me think of the little feather at the start and end of the movie. Gets me all teary LOL

  I am not studying right now, but I have done. Congrats to all you taking such stimulating and facinating courses. My hubby's cousin did philosophy...that would be a great thing to study. His mother is just finishing her Honours Thesis for a double degree in Psychology/Commerce at age 57 so it shows you can achieve no matter the age.
