I too was on my way to becoming a true Christian with a much better understanding of what the teachings of Christ were all about. Then I ran across a quote about the god El being a cannaanite God. From that point on I became immersed in ancient religions, archeology of the areas in the Bible, language, etc. I'm no longer a believer in the gods/God of the Bible. Welcome and I hope you'll tell us your Dfing story.

3rd Gen DF'd finally writing

i think reading cappytan, and others like that, compelled me to share, it seems i might have a bit of a different outcome than many i have read, perhaps it will be hopeful/helpful to someone.. i was a born-in, 3rd gen jw, my entire family (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and most all of my childhood friends) were in.
some dropped by the wayside as the years went on, but many stayed in, and if they didn't, they still acted/talked as if they believed it was "the truth" and it was their weaknesses/failings that made them stop attending.

The JW religion has just cost me my marriage & my family life
by jambon1 inafter leaving the organisation 10 years ago i fought with everything i had to stay in my marriage and with my three children.
after a tumultuous number of years trying to maintain a happy family life while living in a divided home, it's finally over.
the religion is single handedly responsible for destroying my marriage and my family.

Really sorry to hear this, hopefully you can wake-up some of your children. Also when you feel up to it maybe you can share some of the things that you believed you may have done wrong or differently so the rest of us have a better chance of saving our families from this disgusting cult. -

That's a nice idea but the very first printing of the revelation climax book said the same thing and again edited out on the next printing a few years later, they know. -

But I say that someone knows better and they are just liars. Here is just one example of why I can confidently state this. The 1989 January WT said clearly that the end of the system would come before the 20th century ended but by the time this WT was reprinted and put in the bound volume of watchtowers for that year only a few months later this comment was changed and the mentioning of the 20th century and the end of the system would come before it was over, was eliminated. Proof that they are liars and they know they are liars.

The Hebrew scripture that they use all the time, 'do not forsake gathering together and incite to fine works'. Well in the Greek incite means to argue. And in proverbs chapter 4 it's all about the benefits of wisdom and how wisdom will make one righteous. Their reasoning goes against these sites scriptures all the ones about keep asking, test everything, keep on the watch. Thier evil.
