This is the subject that helped to wake me up. LEtt in a talk in Florida stated that everyone or most I should say of the people he was associated with at bethel in the early seventies thought 1975 was it. He stated that he did not and was viewed as an apostate. I thought to myself well if bethel never said it and it was some rogue elders and Co's, which was their story after 1975, then how did everyone at bethel think the end was going to be in 1975. The lights in my head came on. -

Solomon's Temple construction, things you realize when no longer asleep.
by Crazyguy inok so in 1kings chapters 5-6 is where we have the story of the construction of solomon's most holy temple to god, the supreme god.
it says that to build this magnificent temple they used 30,000 men, 10,000 per month.
another 70,000 common laborers in the hills digging up stone and 80,000 stone cutting laborers.

konceptual99 , the courtyard was not much bigger and was surrounded by a wall. Inside the wall was an alter for burning the animals and a cistern of water. That was about it, I believe it was to be a solid copy of the tabernacle or tent complex the Jews supposedly used during their exodus that contained the Ark of the covenant. I don't believe it was ever built and if it was it was built at Tanis not Jerusalem. There are also other temples built very similarly at Arn Dara, Ebla, Emar and Munbaga. -

Could David and Solomon just be a retelling or a parallel to the gods?
by Crazyguy inits interesting to find out that there is no record of david and solomon anywhere out side of the bible.
what i have found has left me wondering what and who the story of david and solomon is really about.
for example, david was a warrior king, had many battles, killed many people.

Its interesting to find out that there is no record of David and Solomon anywhere out side of the bible. What I have found has left me wondering what and who the story of David and Solomon is really about. For example, David was a warrior king, had many battles, killed many people. He was also someone that couldn't control his sexual desires. He was symbolized as a Lion and even had a star for him known as the star of David.
I am wondering if this character could be a re-telling or a parallel to the Goddess Innana? Innana was also known as Ishtar and Asherah. In Egypt there was a Stella depicting three female gods as one, the goddesses Qadesh- Anat and Ishtar. These goddesses were interchangeable pretty much one in the same depending on what pantheon and time period your looking at. Astarte is also one of the names of this Goddess and notice her descriptions and how they parallel David. Goddess of War and Sex her symbol was that of a Lion and she was equated with a Evening Star. All these female gods had this description so could it be?
Could it be that if one studies the gods they could find similarities with that of Solomon? For example Solomon was described and the wisest in the land, well the Gods Enki and Thot were also described in the same way. Could we find more parallel's that would describe a god to be almost and exact copy of Solomon? Could it be that these stories were just a symbolic representation of a god?

Stats of conventions in Mexico
by ILoveTTATT2 ini just went to a convention in mazatlan, mexico.. i had wanted to do this for a very long time, it left me shaken a bit (because i had a confrontation of sorts with one jw who recognized me), but i got some stats that give some insight into the borg.
it really is crumbling, even in the places where they have arguably had the best, wildest success in the world: mexico.. just so you can see how much they have success in mexico compared to the us or anywhere else:.
top three countries in 2014 were:.

I'm not sure if baptism really means that much. When people start to leave the Borg they do so whether or not baptized. Maybe the act holds a few more captive percentage wise but probably not by much. The numbers of ones waking up and speaking out is going up. Even older ones are thinking and showing that enough is enough. -

It says that to build this magnificent temple they used 30,000 men, 10,000 per month. Another 70,000 common laborers in the hills digging up stone and 80,000 stone cutting laborers. 3,300 men just to over see the work as supervisors and the project took seven years, I repeat SEVEN YEARS to complete. Yes what a magnificent awesome accomplishment for the most holy.
If I only had a time machine I could go back look at this project when it was done and think to myself. "What all this for a place no bigger then my house, LOL". Yes this temple was only about 100 feet long and about 34 feet wide and about two stories high, no bigger then my house. What a joke. I guess the translators or the story tellers got yet another thing wrong in the inspired word of the bible.
Oh and one last thing when they were done they sacrificed 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep really, really? Its amazing how when a sleep (indoctrinated) what people can not discern when reading this crap.

Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?
by EdenOne ini do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?

They've Exposed Their Hand
by OneFingerSalute inso the wtb&t$ have either intentionally or unwittingly exposed their hand in this mornings wt indoctrination article.. this is a direct quote from par.
"regardless of how long we have been in the truth, we must tell others about jehovah's organization.
" the question is, "what obligation does psalm 48: 12-14 place on us?".
-
Crazyguy
You should answer something to the effect, "that today we are encouraged to tell all about the WT organization knowing full well that the scriptures at Galation's say we will be cursed for this, but we must still endure." -

True believers never save their money
by stillin init's an article of faith.
either god is going to save them or he is not.
since one local elder proudly told me that he never saved a nickel until just before his retirement, i've given this subject some thought.. savers are worldly..

not according to the august study wt, on page 20 paragraphs 4-12 it outlines how much paradise will be exactly like being in the org today.
still following rules, waiting on jehovah and obeying those taking the lead.
