Silly Bible things you notice when your awake.

i sure you guys can list others but here is a thought about the exodus story.

in chapter 1 the pharoah is concerned that the israelites are becoming to numerous.

and just as a side point we can assume pharaohs were not to dumb and even if they were the smart people of egypt studied in the temple 40 years and they studied all things not just religion.

Ok with that said would it not be way more effective to kill the girl babies of Israel not the boys? If you don't get my point a rancher if wanting to grow his herd he will have many females, yet only needs a couple of males.

People started freaking out thinking these people are drunk an Peter gets up and says in verses 16-17 these people are not drunk this in the fulfilment of the prophecy written in Joel. He goes on to describe all these things and those accomplishes by Jesus and says these are the last days. He goes on then in verse 40 mention this all and about this evil generation.

Read chapter 2 and you to will see that the writer of Acts was stating that the last days and the this generation was then.

A problem with the book of Daniel

left the wts some years ago, but just before i left we were studying the daniel book that they produced in the book study .. i noticed something wrong in the bible account of daniel and brought this up at the end of the study when the conductor asked if everyone understood that nights study,.

i think i may have started a topic here some years ago about this event ,it was a time when i started to question the wts in my heart and mind.the scriptures are lengthy so i will just shorten things by describing the stories in daniel and how one point really got me thinking about things and perhaps made the brothers wierd out about me sand distance themselves ,here it is..........dan ch 1-4. daniels ( who came to be called belteshazzar)in babylon along with shadrach,meshach & abednego ,daniel,after praying with these 3, interprets and states what nebuchadnezzars dream is( we all know this ,the image with the head of gold body of iron and copper etc) and they are rewarded by being positions of authority.

daniel made ruler of the province and chief prefect over babylons wise men ,the 3 were made overseers of the administation of the province ,all very important jobs ,.

Great insight Kepler, you should give us more. I was told the books of Maccabees helps to put the book of Daniel in to a format we can understand better. But yes so many details the jws ignore.

The rank and file have heard this crap for so long and had to deal with so many changes they just deep down don't believe anymore. The old really want it and the younger ones just don't know . My wife in her 40's doesn't talk to me much but she has related to me several times of her thought of death of old age. She has never said she believes she'll live in to a new system . Deep down it's a pipe dream, just like the Muslim martyr who is told if he blows himself up he will go to heaven and get 72 virgins. If he's a little young teenager 14-17 he believes but by the time he's 22 he's maybe believing he going to heaven but no longer believes he will get 72 virgins.

there are some who still love the organization & the people in it.. who understand that every large organization has their own issues.. they believe the advice on what type of person you are supposed to be & how to treat others has made them a better person.

and they believe, quite frankly, even if the g.b are a bunch of narcissistic wannabe powerful guys, the worest thing they have done is to wake up people on saturday mornings.. i`ve been awake most of the night thinking about this, wondering if this person had a point.

Did anyone see Jackson state "celebrating Christmas not a df'ing offence"?

i have seen posts on several you tube sites stating that jackson said during his rc testimony that jw's don't shun, celebrating christmas is not a disfellowshipping offence, birthdays are ok and ones doesn't have to agree with jw doctrine.

i have read most of the posts on other threads while and after his testimony but never read any of this?

did he really say these things or is someone on the net just stirring up some bs?.

Am I understanding this generation overlapping "New Light"

so i'm thinking...my daughter has a great grand mother that was born in 1900. she was 14 years old in the 1914 year.. well this grand lady died in 1990. my daughter was about 9 years old at that time.

so my daughter can live until 2065.. she will be about 84 in the year 2065. so this "new light" means that 2065 is the new 1914?.

can someone say im right?.

You guys have it all wrong, Jesus said this generation will not pass away until all these things accur. Then he lists these things. So the correct answer is this generation will never pass away.

i had a secret conversation with a dyed in the wool jw recently.. they told me that they felt that the organisation now was a different religion to the 'good old days' when knorr was the boss.

the books were more interesting.

the zeal was there.

These guys also seem as though they don't care anymore. They say stupid crap don't hide their 20K watches and their pinky rings etc. They just have this arrogance about them. Take it or leave it is now their attitude and its seems as though they actually want people to leave. Maybe they have a hedge fund that is now self sustaining.
