A Seal Ring bearing King Hezekiah's found in Jerusalem excavation, with ankh symbol and winged sun
by fulltimestudent infrom a story in the jewish press:.
quote: "the city of david excavations of the jerusalem hebrew university on mount ophel, at the foot of the southern wall of the temple mount compound, have yielded a sensational discovery: a seal (bulla) with the name of king hezekiah (727-698 bce).".
"king hezekiahs bulla was discovered in a garbage heap that was dumped during or shortly after hezekiahs time, from a royal building that was used to store food.

Vinqun, most people may not know that the city you mentioned Beth-Shamesh is the Egyptian city of On also known as Heliopolis. As one studies the Bible writings it become clear that not all these writings were about one god but what ever God the writer was worshipping, then later the writing was used describe just the God the redactors wanted. Hezekiah s God looks like he was Ra. he was also the God of whoever wrote Malachi chapter 4. But Christians aren't supposed to figure this stuff out. -

Hezekiah's Royal seal and Dr. Eilat Mazar's video confirmation of Jerusalem's destruction in 587
by Crazyguy inon page 55 of the wt's "god's word for us through jeremiah" book the box indicates that head archeologist of israel's jerusalem dig, dr. eilat masar's supports the idea that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce.
its been shown through written and possible verbal interviews with the doctor that she does not support this idea at all.
today i found this video where she states at minute 3:57 that the city was destroyed in 587. this is the first visual proof that i have seen concerning this subject discussed by her.

This video is obviously a Christians propaganda piece pushing the validity of the bible showing how this Royal Bulla confirms Hezekiah's existence but ignores the obvious references to Egyptian beliefs and their god Amen-Ra.
This video clearly shows her thinking and is another nail in the WT's propaganda.

Awesome News today!!!!!!!
Malachi 4New King James Version (NKJV)
The Great Day of God
4 “For behold, the day is coming,
Burning like an oven,
And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble.
And the day which is coming shall burn them up,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“That will leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
3 You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
On the day that I do this,”
Says the Lord of hosts.4 “Remember the Law of Moses, My servant,
Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel,
With the statutes and judgments.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
6 And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” -

I believe this king is the first Judean king ever to be known outside the Bible, therefore not a mythical king. Lets remember that the word lord in the Bible translates to Baal. Baal Zephron also known as Hadad which some equates to the Egyptian God Amun. This king was probably a pupet king of the Pharaoh. -

Simple, yet very effective way, for ALL to spread the TTATT to current JW family and friends, possible GAME CHANGER.
by Dunedain ini am sure this has probably been thought about, and maybe others have mentioned it already.
in fact, i cant even take credit for this brilliant idea.
it is a "tactic" that my father uses, to great effect, and he is a current jw.. as we all know, there is a wealth of info on the internet, and many other sources, that clearly exposes the many lies of the wts.

Good stuff here, but here is a question for whom ever wants to give it a go. These scriptures seem to be talking about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 ce yet here is a major problem, most of the scriptures were written after 70ce. 1john says they are in the last hour of the last days and in the book of Revelations written very late, says Jesus is coming very soon several times. So were these writers writing about something that had already happened and back dating the story as one author states the gospel writers were doing or were they talking about a different date? -

new religious wave of young? 90 baptized at assembly
by prologos inisis has it's young warriors, jw?
last weekend in a "developing country", at a ~ 3500 attendee assembly, 90, mostly young were baptized, ratio 46/44 female - male ratio.
internet savvy population.

This is to be expected. Most people that are raised in the religion will get baptized because its the social thing to do. Once their baptized as children then move on to young adulthood and the real word hits them, that's when I think people start to fall away. Am I wrong? -

The Exodus confirmed..
by Crazyguy infor those of you that don't research this stuff i will give a little back story.
we all know about the moses exodus, but history and archeology didn't seem to confirm this event.
the only exodus out of egypt ever recorded was that of a group of asiatic tribes that had taken over egypt for a bit over 100 years called the hyksos and the followers of the pharaoh akhenaten who perpetuated a monotheistic idea of worshiping only one deity the aten.
-

I have read several things on this subject and the point of thread is that the evidence seems to point to this hyksos Exodus as the one that started the story even if yes many things in the story are not true. Several historians way back then agree that this is the event the Bible later talked about. I think this makes better sense then to think the whole story was just made up. -

I agree Memphis the Bible mentions all sorts of stuff that was not accurate. The name PiRamesses was not correct but a later name. The Bible says they built the cities with burnt bricks, not correct. It looks as though the Savior of the Israelites Moses was taken from the name of the Pharaoh Ahmoses. This list goes on and on. Even this idea of only worshipping one God may have come from the other recorded Exodus, when the followers of Akkentaten we're expelled. Its like a bunch of stories all thrown together to make this Bible story.
