The Watchtower are Right About Blood...

... but, they fail to take note of one important detail.. i believe that if we are going to have any chance of reasoning with a jw about blood, this is the place we need to begin.. don't try to convince them that it was only a dietary law.

it wasn't, and they will never go along with it.. don't tell them that saving a life is more important than obeying a law, even a seemingly trivial one.

they take pride in obedience.

My thoughts on the subject are this, Lev.chapter 17 says that the blood is the symbol of life and to pour it out, out of respect for the animal you killed. By the end of the chapter is says you can eat an unbled animal you didn't kill and would be unclean for doing so only until evening. So this makes it clear that blood is to be poured out as a sign of respect for the life of the animal you killed, that's it period! Everything else on the matter is irrelevant.

People don't die giving blood for a transfusion so it's irrelevant. The JW religion now allows ones to take cows blood, this proves their evil Period!

There's nothing left to discuss!

If one wants to get all technical then consider this, the book of Leviticus was most likely written before the book of Genesis and the writers of the new testament we're just copying and rehashing thoughts from the old testament with out considering what exactly we're the ideas being put accross by the old testament writers. Last but not least the writings attributed by Paul contradict the writings attributed to Jesus and the four Gospels cant even get their stories strait concerning the life and travels of Christ, so burn the damn book written by ancient Talaban types and use some common sense!

And remember, the Gods loved the sweet smell of the savoury scrafice , animals being cooked as a sacrifice by Noah. Genesis. God loved the sweet smell of his sons sacrifice, Ephesians. And they call me Crazy.

The Pain of Coming to a Decision

it's been at least a couple years since i've posted anything on here, and much longer than that since when i was active.

ten years ago i first came here all in turmoil over my disillusionment of my beliefs.

i've been through lots of ups and downs since then.

I think you have ptsd, or something similar. I believe I have the same and many on this forum do as well. Your wife seems as though she wants to try, and the fact that she hasn't taken the kids and run back to all the meetings etc, should be taken as a good sign. I think it's time to be pro active with your family. What is your beliefs, share them with your kids and wife. Don't attack her faith just point out other things that show her faith as wrong with out the frontal attack.

For example if you believe in evolution show your kids the picture of that chicken with a tooth. Then explain that scientist turned on an old dormant gene or chromosone, whatever it's called. If your a Christian then show the kids where in the Bible it's OK to celebrate holidays. Tell your wife now you feel, she seems like she cares and wants to know. Take it from me that's married to a wife that doesn't care, goes to all the meetings with my children and tells lies about me behind my back, you have hope and I think a wife that still loves you. So cheer up and happy holidays!

What made you turn atheist or agnostic?

if you were a jw and are now an atheist or agnostic, what was the tipping point that made you turn to it?.

the reason i ask is i have noticed that many who leave the jw's seem to turn to atheism, versus still having some form of a faith.

have many of you given up on god first or have you had atheistic views first and then found atheism to be true.

Doing Bible study and research convinced I was a Christian we all believers are Borg wrong on this and then saw a quote by someone that the Canaanite God head of their Pantheon of God's was named El.

Pictures in the Watchtower

after sitting through last sunday's watchtower i got so sick of seeing the bobbing/nodding heads when talking about the pictures.

they act like god himself took the picture.

there must have been 10 comments about the group in service and the one brother was looking at his phone with a smile, which is a dead give away that he was reading something interesting.. what got me was how the older brother in the posed picture had a bible in his hand had a stern look on his face looking at the young brother.

Peter said they we're in the last days in acts chapter 2. John said they we're in thevlast hour of the last days 1john. Jesus said he would be back very soon 5 times in the last chapter of revelation.

Yep, so glad I wasted 45 years of my life on this book.

let me start with a disclaimer: i am in no way minimizing the horrific crimes done to children by pedophiles.

i'm not downplaying the number of lives lost due to the blood issue, or hearts broken because of shunning.

i do not want to discount the feelings of those who have come to the end of their lives with expectations of paradise postponed.. but to me the biggest atrocity committed by this awful cult is raising children from a small age to believe that soon god will kill billions of people.

it is where the www preaching work funds are directed, as being justified to get your donations.there are now no longer any foreigners at the branch within tanzania, they all were told to go.

Is zeal beginning to vanish?

it has to be starting to fade somehow.

the very last time i went out in field service, hardly any were out.

maybe just about nine people were out and man if you could just see their faces.

Tor, welcome and I disagree, most jws know nothing. The reasons they have lost zeal is it's the same old message with out any urgency like before the generation teaching changed. It doesn't help that so many old ones, old pioneers and old zealous ones are dying. The religion is dying all religion is dying. Even major events like tsunamis don't get the rank and file excited anymore.

But their still delsusion for it's always Jehovah this and Jehovah did that and pray to Jehovah and thank him some human helped us, mostly the sisters going on about Jehovah
