Should doctors tell JW patients that there is disagreement about Watchtower's blood policy.

this has been a controversial issue among doctors and medical ethicists.

i think it basically comes down to the fact that physicians have a responsibility to establish the presence of informed consent.

is it really possible for a person to give informed consent if they are not accurately informed?.

I think the doctor should be proactive and try to educate his patient. He could inform them that in every drop of breast milk there's 1 million white blood cells, so if God really said not to eat blood the way the WT says then why is there blood in the milk. And if your to pour out your blood again like the WT says then why do they allow blood fractions which are obtained from donated blood. These are questions and comments that may get a JW thinking, and the doctor could finish off by saying "are you really sure your leader's are correct on this matter so much so that your willing to die? Because in 1967 they told their followers not to have organ transplants even if it meant death, then 13 years later they changed their minds"

As the doctor I would hope this would get the patient thinking and then do to the pressure of imminent death maybe change their minds after planting these doubts.

The story of my exit

i have been lurking here for about 6 months, and being the last day of the year, and ready to start the new one afresh, i want to share the story of our exit from the org.

i have found the personal experiences of others of immeasurable value, (and its been a while since a good exit story has been posted) that i hope this can be of benefit to at least someone.. .

my mother became a jehovahs witness when i was about 9 or 10. i remember initially hating all of the new sanctions put on our lives (no birthdays and christmas anymore) but for some reason i soon after joined her in attending the meetings and eventually got baptized at the age of 14. my staunch catholic father converted a couple of years later.

don't tell me they aren't doing this dumbo project just the same as the margaret hotel and who knows how many others?

If your marriage is 90 Good then your doing better then most. Just stop going and let your boy stay with you and start teaching him and showing him that the Borg is crap. As he learns he maybe able to help you wake up the wife. Most important thing is to stop supporting her in her beliefs.

Writing my Disassociation letter

i successfully faded a year ago.

Make it short and to the point, this is the only way your going to possibly get through to the one reading it. If you don't care then just call them a bunch of pedophile covering up self righteous bastards that see them selves as the faithful and discreet slave even though Peter says in Luke it's just a parable. To go.along with the last post, a friend goes to a local church and they have had a massive increase of new ones because they go out in to the community and do charitable works and spend money on helping people. I for the life of me can't see why any third world person would join this religion when so many others do give money?

The story of Adam and the rib is a take off of a story originaly from Sumeria where a God Enki, the same God that saved man from the flood along with a female goddess take a rib and make man from it. Almost every story in Genesis is a rip off from older Sumerian writings.

but my god most of them are just wasted space, ignorant, no drive, horrible jobs, make nothing for income and the only thing in life they have going for them is this title.

no wonder so many will not wake up and hold on to this stupid cult, it's all they have.
