What are the biggest holes in the ransom sacrifice?
by Half banana inhow honest are the proponents of jesus as the ransom sacrifice?.
curious to see what type of response there is on a topic like this or does their study only seek to confirm their preconceptions and ignore uncomfortable facts?.

I tell you the biggest hole, Murder! Yep God kills people to make himself feel important, he even muders his own son and not just a quick fast death but a slow tortuous evil death all because a newly created woman eats a piece of fruit. So there you have it, murder just remember this one word, Murder! -

Finally posting and I'm FRUSTRATED!!!
by stephanie61092 inokay, i'm about to engage in a major word vomit.
just giving you fair warning as your time may be better spent somewhere else.. so, i'm sitting on my lunch break, bawling my eyes out, and writing on this forum to people i don't know yet probably have a great deal in common with but at the same time, used to scare the daylights out of me.
for years, i would come across this forum and 'lurk' awhile if you will, or see things on youtube.

A conversation with my dad
by magotan ini talked to my dad today, after i text him when i was angry after a night out.
i'm starting to get closure on my parents relationship with regards to me.the dynamic between them versus me is abusive.
my dad didn't think i had any reason to be bitter.he said i chose to leave "jehovahs people" and this is what i should expect as treatment.

I like to bring up Jesus in these type of conversations, he said all that believe in me have life as a gift. He said any who give or do any acts of kindness to his followers would be remembered and considered his brother, he said not to shun and that doing so makes one like a tax collector and he said to forgive 70x7. Then I would ask, since the JWs either don't believe in these comments or don't apply them or do what Jesus said then how can they be gods organization because God said this is my son my beloved listen to him. They do not listen! -

Is it later then you think?
by Crazyguy ina exfriend of mine gave his first public talk and that was the title.
wasn't that the title of an awake in 1969?
if so, talk about rehashing an old title.

A exfriend of mine gave his first public talk and that was the title. Wasn't that the title of an Awake in 1969? If so, talk about rehashing an old title. Wonder if their going to ramp up again that this overlapped generation is and can only be that last one? Runing out of time ,Franz has been dead since 1992. Is that what's going on and am I correct about the Awake title? I haven't been to a meeting in over two years so not sure how much thier now pushing the end again? -

Thoughts on John 7:53-8:11??
by BarelyThere ini always accepted that the nwt said that these verses in john were not in the most reliable manuscripts.
i thought it was strange that while the "old" nwt at least included the verses, the "revised" nwt completely omits them.
now i'm trying to do research on my own, but my head is still spinning from all of the information i've taken in the past week.

The main point to this thread is the earliest manuscripts found of the NT are 2nd century, that 300 years after Christs supposed life. So how is anyone going to know what was written or spoken before, so taking these Scriptures out of the Bible is rediculous! -

Stupid Organization!
by stillin ina while back, a local witness lost their home in a fire.
an announcement was made at the meeting that if anybody wanted to contribute, they could do so through their service group overseer.
my guess is that this arrangement is meant to bring tears of joy to the eyes of the impoverished one, and thankfulness to "jehovah's organization.

My daughter needed help and some donated money and it's appreciated but of over 120 plus publishers in her hall I would say most of the money came from just a handful of her and her mother's friends and yes one elder. Like what someone posted above I know of churches where more people contributed and even some churches have funds set up for when someone is in need. -

United States baptism stats 1969-2015
by the comet inwhenever the new yearbooks come out, we all look at the figures and see the publisher increase never really matches up with the baptism figures.
it never should match up as all newly baptized ones are already publishers, and may have been for many years.
i, as an example, became an unbaptized publisher at age 11. i didn't get baptized until i was 17. .

Dis you mean roughly 140k? Because the total baptized is roughly 1.7m and you wrote 1.4m roughly? So if I'm correct out of the roughly 500k missing 140k are dead? I think the death rate of 1% is to high in this case because most baptized since 1975 would be kids and young adults,, really screwing up the death ratio. -

The idea of wings and even the concept of angels was a Greek invention. Some of the other type of angels mentioned we're Sumerian. The original Hebrew writing the angels we're actually called Elohim which means God's. So they were sons of gods lesser gods an example of this is the Annanaki also called whatchers. In the original Sumerian writings and later in the book of Enoch these watchers were the ones who came down and had relations with woman. Anyway angels (sons of god) don't have wings unless your into greek mythology.
