  Partaking of emblems

  this year will be my first for by going to the memorial.

  i will get asked by my parents how i can deny jesus even if i don't believe the end is close.

  my thoughts on this are as follows, bear in mind saying it's all make believe is not an option.. i think that jesus intended for everyone to eat the bread and drink the wine.

  Why all the secrecy in Gods organisation?

  looking back and seeing all the secrecy and cover ups throughout wt history such as the secret elders books, the branch correspondence guidelines, the shameful lying and deceipt exposed during the arc questioning, the in-house way of dealing with things, the lack of openness to the media on issues such as blood or child abuse or anything controversial for that matter.

  could this relate in some way to russell's alleged past as a freemason?

  it seems quite strange that the founder of the bible students quite possibly may have been a freemason, (an organisation well known for its secrecy).

  Damn strait, just picked my wife's car bring it home,.need a ride back to pick up mine. Anyway she's not home nobody is, call her and my son all phones are off. She's off with the family watching the monthly broadcast at the hall. Doesn't tell me or anything, as if I don't know. She's done it now twice, she's gone and done other things as well all hush hush big secret. I bet she thinks that I don't know two of my boys are having a Bible study with a MS. Its all just so stupid especially since I have never stopped her or the family from going or doing anything JW.

  I'm will be the first to admit I'm not a smart guy. Dropped out of high school to help my parents make a living. Who needs an education anyway when the end is so close. Any way my education then came the hard way. But I must say this, I have always been open to ideas and other peoples opinions so I guess that's what helped me to wake up.

  Whats so frustrating is realizing how much we're all manipulated. I did not realize until a few days ago that there are Bible believing creationists that believe the earth is only 6000 years old created in a literal 24 Hour day. Then to see how these religious leaders lie and take out of context scientific evidence to the contrary. People just eat up these lies. I see how donting of a task it is to free people like our JW friends and family when the other side is using such tactics to keep the masses ignorant. Very frustrating.

  Its interesting that in a different thread it was brought out that they have taken all the money and assets out of Canada or relieved it from the Canadian branch. Why would they do this, Canada doesn't seem to have a court system that allows for large punitive damages so why?

  I no longer feel smart as a JW, I feel dumb...

  i don't want anyone to take this the wrong way but i use to at least feel smart as a jw.

  when i went to thursday night meetings, i at least felt like i was a student, that i was learning how to speak publicly, i could prepare my own comments, i could answer points that i learned from the weekly bible reading.

  i even feel like an "idiot" studying for the meetings.

  I have met the brother who wrote the insight books as well as other stuff . He said the ones left are just idiots. With out fred franz, dulap, franz and a couple other that all left or died theres no one left to write anything of substance.

  loaded gun under her car seat was picked up off the floor and the kid shot her in the back...the day before on facebook she boasted about his shooting skills.

  Greatteacher, I have a shot gun loaded in my room but its on the top shelve of a closet and I'm the only one tall enough to reach it. I also have a pistol with the a gun lock on it the key in a different place as well as the clip. Getting a gun safe with a combo so I can have it the pistol ready but only I know the combo. Also both my older boys have been trained how to use the pistol and have shot it at a gun range. Teaching kids about guns and how to use and respect them is the best way to reduce the odds of having kids accidently shooting it off. No it's not full proof but it's proven to be a better strategy then doing nothing with the kids.

  In response to grreatteacher, I believe people should have to take a traning course to have and own a gun and back ground checks to for people wanting to buy a gun, being responsible when owning guns is the highest priority! Also I'm am not a member of the NRA and never will be. Just because I am a gun owner doesn't mean I'm a zealot.
