My life as a fundamentalist
by joey jojo inas a born-in jw, i never considered myself to be a fundamentalist.
i always thought we were enlightened, progressive and not 'stuck in darkness' like all the other religions.. i was totally wrong.. as far as fundamentalists go, jw's are probably right up there amongst the front-runners.
no, they do not stone people to death or go on religion-fuelled violent rampages but that's not what i'm talking about.

And lets not forget the mountain of prophecies that didn't come true. Both Jeremiah and Isahiah we're false prophet's. -

Question for those still attending the Kingdom Hall
by ToesUp inthis a question more out of curiosity, because we have not stepped foot in a kh in 3 years.. how is the attendance at the meetings/assemblies?
i know the answer will vary due to location.. are you (especially elders) receiving any notification or communication from bethel or co's that there is an upsurge of people that are simply disappearing or out right dis associating?.
thanks, in advance, for your feedback!

Most jws are desperate, desperately broke and no hope except of a new system. No friends out side the Borg so really nowhere to go. They hang on out of this desperation and so people don't leave in huge numbers like we would hope. Its the trickle effect, new ones leave after seeing the love bomb where off. Kids leave that are driven, the non driven stay. People who are treated badly also leave.
I think times will get rougher for the Borg and theyll make adjustments to try to stop the loses but in the end it will make it worse. Their doing some of this now but reality of the world is waking up even the stupid ones. Evolution was proven a fact back in 2004 so people are leaving religion in mass.

Interesting article about the evidence of the Jewish Exodus
by cappytan inthe reality is that there is no evidence whatsoever that the jews were ever enslaved in egypt.
yes, there's the story contained within the bible itself, but that's not a remotely historically admissible source.
i'm talking about real proof; archeological evidence, state records and primary sources.

I was reading a book about the subject and it brought out that there is no mention of Moses in all the minor prophet's and only a mention or two in a couple of other writing I think Isaiah and One other but these writing could of been added since experts feel Isaiah was written by more then one person. Anyway with this being said the thought that the story was a later writing after the Babylonian captivity has more merit. -

Its funny conservatives always think that people who vote for Democrats or guys like Bernie are wanting had outs. Yet every time a conservative gets into office they vote to give hand outs. So it's really about who's getting the hand outs I guess. Is it the people or the banks and corporations. The top 100 plus corportations pay 0 in taxes. Why don't we stop giving away stuff, money, jobs, etc and start fixing the country. -

I went nuts on studying the Bible, ancient religions, archeology, evolution and astronomy. After the awakening my brain is more fully on, the world is raw but it like it's also massive and awe inspiring.

Just in time for Memorial season...
by OutsiderLookingIn inthis is short and quick but maybe it's a seed to plant in the 10 days until the memorial.
i have talked to jws who tell me their reason for not eating the bread and drinking the cup is because that was only a new covenant with his disciples (and in their wonky extension, the 144,000).
but i just thought of a few things.

Jws pick and choose what Scriptures they will use. They are taught by stupid men and so they end up stupid too. Example they love James 1:26-27 faith with out works is worthless yet never read Ephesian 2:8-9 where it says the exact opposite.
About the eating of the bread and wine, every other Christian religion knows that Jesus was talking to everyone in the crowd at copernium when he said you have to eat my flesh to have life in you. The second group he talks about the other sheep is the gentiles, Christians know this as well.

A poll of sorts: How long have you been a "fader" for?
by SecretSlaveClass ini'm curious about the following:.
1) how long have you been a fader for?.
2) how often do you still get pressure from congregation members and/or family to return as an active witness?.

Feeling A Bit Down Today
by jacobm inhey y'all, .
i'm not sure about you, but i occasionally get those days where i feel a bit down, as if i have no friends.
i do have a number of great friends, though, and am very thankful for them.. i think it might have to do with the residual programming of having a "worldwide brotherhood".
