meeting with elders about WT involvement in UN
by LevelThePlayingField ini still go to the meetings because of my in wife and it came about that the elders knew of my pissed off attitude about the society getting involved in the un.
so the elders said they could help me get over that and wanted to meet with me.
now just to let you know, i have only told my wife and her mom so far about it, that's it.

i also read an article recently that suggested that internal migration in italy was a big boost for jw growth.
more generally it has long been theorised that new religious movements are a phenomenon particularly associated with disruptive features of modernity, including the hyper-mobility of people in the modern age.

Since other religions have always had more to offer I always wondered why anyone would join the jws? I think the fact that they go door to door has helped to convert these ones before they joined a better church.

by jws inso i was talking with my daughter the other day and she tells me that she doesn't want me to push my beliefs on her.i am agnostic.

I think you should push your ideas on her. One her beliefs were pushed on her , she would not be a JW if she wasn't raised that way. Two she is told to push her religion on others . Three her beliefs will result in a wasted life and probably a lot of unhappiness . It's your job as a parent to help guide your kids so they have a chance at a better life then you had and possibly make less mistakes then you. Push away!

Well I know that one can find a lot of contradictions between Jesus of the New Testament and the God of the Old Testament . Problem is the bible is not fluid . Jesus seemed to say and teach one thing and then Paul comes along and teaches something different .

A JW Father Learns about Blood
by Lee Elder inthis father contacted us a few months ago about his experience with the watchtower's blood policy, and how his daughter nearly died as a result of it.
hopefully, other jw parents can learn from this before the wt policy claims the life of their child.
the wts has very few meaningful interventions or "non blood alternatives" for anemia.

Not really much of a story other then met with the hospital lady about blood and alternatives was shocked at what seemed like a lot of the alternatives had blood in them. Anyway I brain farted and thought she was with the JW liaison comity should of known better because she was a woman. Asked her if she was a JW and she said yes. Any way with what was said it made me research the doctrine and what the WT said. Reading in the km of November of 2006 that cows blood was ok made the wheels come off for me.

his employer demands that he change his working pattern such that it conflicts with his being able to attend wt meetings at the weekend.
the brother decides not to yield to his employer’s demand and is thus dismissed.. the brother seeks for work very actively over a significant period but without any alternative being found.

WT sick and discusting this blood issue was the final staw for me, researched it myself after my wife almost needed a C section and what the hotpital liaison committee told me was quite startling !
