Let me remind everybody that baptism according to the Bible is only for forgiveness of sins not a dedication to any deity whatsoever !

I wonder if part of the CO thing could be about governments not excepting these vows of poverty knowing full well that when thier old thier dumped on the welfare system. This has been what the Borg has done for years, Bethelites were kicked out as they aged but before retirement. This way they had to go home then try to find work the if they couldn't make it they would get on the welfare system and the cult wasn't liable to pay anything. Maybe the governments are getting wise to this.

The Governing Body are doubling down on dogma!
by DATA-DOG inin case you were wondering if the governing body we're going to become kinder and gentler, the answer is a big "no!!!
in the current study edition of the wt magazine, the sheeple are reminded of some very important key points.
1) god has an organization ( corporation ) that you must respect.. 2) only the gb/faithful slave can dispense spiritual food and only the gb/faithful slave can interpret the bible.. 3) individual dubs absolutely cannot learn "truth" on their own.. 4) god requires "unity of doctrine.

I thInk one has to compare many so as to get the meaning of what the scriptures really say. I also think the Septuagint is the most accurate when it comes to timelines and the history of the Bible stories. I use a bible app as well on my phone that has over 50 translations so it's great for comparison. But let's not forget many of the stories in the Bible were lifted from older writings and then modified so if you want real accuracy then you'll want to read the original stories from the original writings .

Another thing to think about is if this is true then it goes along with what they did in Africa. They stoped paying special pioneers world wide and then closed a branch in a part of Africa that was said to still be growing by leaps and bounds. So like Africa maybe the reason for closing Mexico is money or should I say lack of it. The leaders know they aren't making much money in Latin America or Africa so why continue any spending of money. Also forgot to mention India as well. They can close down all these areas of the world and still make money off of North America and Western Europe. The jws in those countries will be none the wiser so it works for the Borg.

This would be great if true and it maybe. The Borg doesn't really need a branch anymore and directing this from New York better keeps the Narcissistic freaks in control. And the part about the CO's being more independent maybe the part that makes this post more believable. They are trying to make things more independent (not the real estate) so as to limit thier liability.
I think thier trying to go more towards a McDonald's format with independent franchise owners that can manage thier store more independently but still serve up the same food. Thier already getting more vague on what thier printing about thier control and thier power (were not inspired or infalable) . So I'm thinking they'll be a religion that through thier writings will guide the flock but try to be vague on control issues, and try to separate themselves from congregational matters so as to limit thier liability. They may even drop the elders the flock book and calling the branch for directions on what the elders need to do , telling elder instead that thier on thier own and apply Bible principles. But of course to be part of the parent organization you'll still need to pay your local fees, i.e. They still get the money.

Jesus ransom or the sanctification of God's name the most important?
by Yesu Kristo Bwana Wangu insome time ago, during the mid-week meeting, the sanctification of god’s name was being discussed (chapter 4 in ‘god’s kingdom rules’).
in paragraph nine we read that in the early period the jw’s viewed jesus ransom sacrifice as the most important teaching of the bible.
then they said they gave overbalanced importance to jesus, and nowadays, they say the sanctification of god’s name is the most important thing in the bible.. .

The good news of the kingdom is Jesus Christ is the messiah and he died was raised so we too can be raised. 1 Corinthians chapter 15 . Any other message then Christ and you'll be cursed Galatians chapter 1 verses 1 through 10. It's cute and dry not splitting hairs period.

Watchtower's Illogical Teachings
by Vanderhoven7 injust writing down some notes to share with jws when i meet them.
here are a few of the problems of logic i see in their doctrines.
perhaps you can add to them.. systemic contradictions – jws boast about fighting for religious freedom – that is their freedom to share their differing views with people outside the organization - yet there is no freedom amongst members to disagree with any official teaching within the organization without the threat of losing friends and family.

Guys like Richard Carrier state that the number of Christians was small and only grew about at the same pace as the Mormon church. It wasn't until after 313 AD that the number really started taking off. The later persecution of the pagan religions are what force the numbers to then go way up. It's also been brought out by many historians that the number of Christians persecuted and killed was way less then later reported.
