  Does God really care about mankind?

  Sorry for your situation and hope you find a treatment. But yeah like many here it's hard to believe in a creator with all the shit going on. I think the tsunami that hit Indonesia was the start of me really waking up.

  In my personal life my oldest child developed a condition known as one of the two most painful conditions ever. Seeing this and seeing a child close to death at times is excruciating. A god of love would never do this or not step in a fix it. The fastest way a person or deity can earn love is to do something positive. The fact that people have to make excuses for why their god is never there when they need him is proof to me that he doesn't exist or if he does he doesn't care.

  perhaps i missed the comments, but i did not see a lot of comments from, or about, the memorial.

  it happened last night, right?.

  in years past the jwn board was hot with comments.

  did anybody (who went to the memorial) notice the opening song?.

  keep in mind that this is the most important night of the year for the witnesses.

  it is supposed to be all about jesus christ.

  Large suburb in California goes from 7 English congregations to 2

  i recently caught up with an old friend who lives in fremont, ca (yes, the same fremont where candace conti is from).

  it’s a good-sized suburb of san jose, with around a population of 230,000. i lived there for a few years during the 90’s, and at the time there were 7 english jw congregations with the following names:.

  north, central, south, niles, warm springs, mission hills, and irvington.

  These people in this area are highly intelligent and working hard. The Asians I don't believe have much reason to want the join a group like the JWs and let's face it it's expected that by 2030 or was it 2050 that another 70 million people in the US will have nothing to do with religion becoming either atheist or agnostic.

  Why does Jehovah choose certain people to rule with him in heaven?

  in other words, what good works have the 144000 done to be secured a place in heaven?

  i am told they have already been chosen.

  does that mean that jehovah also knows our future?

  The Bible in the true Greek never calls them kings it says they will reign as priests only . Check your Greek inter linear Rev. 5:9-10 and all other scriptures in the New Testament that references any Christian as king. By the way the word reign doesn't necessarily mean to rule.

  You will be with me in Paradise

  i'm reading a book called, "what to do when they knock".

  it points out that on page 36 of the 2014 "what does the bible really teach?

  " book jesus promises the criminal, "you will be with me in paradise.

  Paradise was an invention of the Egyptians later adopted by some of the Greeks, they called Elysian or Elysian Fields. The Egyptians called it the Field of Reeds.

  In Egypt the dead body or a version of the persons spirit (there was a total of 3) would travel to the underworld while its KA spirit would go out.

  In the underworld it would go through triles or tribulations then be judged against the heart of MAat. If it's heart was pure it would rejoin its spirit and all its other parts and move on to paradise. If the heart was not pure it would be eaten by a animal demon god and the body would be cast off in to the lake of fire.

  Christianity is a copy of these ideas including thier Astro theology.

  “there was a landowner who planted a vineyard.

  he put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower.

  No matter how you spin it the Old Testament was never about setting up a messiah to be killed as a human sacrifice. Even the scriptures in Isaiah are suspect.

  i salute you.

  many of you, like me, are probably under enormous emotional pressure, whether from a lingering false sense of guilt from your indoctrination, whether from "invitations," and assumptions that you'll naturally be coming, or whether from outright emotional blackmail, even begging and pleading.

  i am thinking of you whoever you are, all of you, even though i don't know you in person.
