anyway, it jogged my memory and reminded me of something i thought i would pass on to you.back in the late 80s i had the opportunity to chat with ray franz on the phone and i asked him about this very thing.he didn't say yes or no to russel's masonic connection but what he said was something like, "he is buried in the masonic section of the cemetery so draw your own conclusion.

Wouldn't the pyramid and all the symbols on his grave site as well as him being buried at a Masonic site be a good indication that he was a Mason?

Lawsuit Settlement Amounts

i have a legitimate question and i am not trying to start a fight.

i keep reading that there were 6 child abuse lawsuits that settled for 13 million dollars.

how do people like barbara anderson or jwsurvey or jwfacts come up with this number?

One will probably never know the amounts. All we can do is speculate but here's something to think about. The WT is selling off tons of real estate, this to me is an indication that their scared. Scared that their going to loose a big one soon. If they were able to settle these cases for small amounts then I don't think they would be this scared. Another thing to think about is the lawyers. If they were settling these cases for small amounts they wouldn't continue with these cases. It's not cost effective.

JW's And Yoga

this was partly discussed in this thread: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/4853755331739648/these-common-jw-beliefs?page=2#!#5701815683252224 but i wanted to delve into the topic of yoga even further.. it seems watchtower have no clue what yoga actually is, or what it can achieve.

Funny thing is yoga is thought to go back well over 6000 years and was practiced by an ancient Indian sage. This guy was probably a friend or even a demon buddy of Satan himself. Demons are into making humans health better didn't you know. Anyway you should not practice such vile things it's obvious this is one of the many reasons why you left the truth and will be killed by the big guy at the big A.

Here the thing if thier only ground by very little each year based of baptisms then we really can tell what's really going on. Baptisms i.e. Former publishers means no real growth at all. Then with many quitting being DFD and others dying, what we really have is a decline. Now factor in all those that quit after 1975 all those that quit after the 1995 change in The Generation, the final conclusion must be thier really much smaller in number then they lead us to believe. I'd say maybe 3 million baptized members and falling.

8 in all charges of misappropriation pertaining to an ox, an ***, a sheep, a garment, or any other loss, whereof one party alleges, “this is it” the case of both parties shall come before god (האלהים): he whom god (אלהים ) declares guilty (ַיְר ִשי ֻףן) shall pay double to the other.

I think the early Israelites were of course Canaanites so they worshipped the same pantheon of gods. The Elohim were those gods. There even a mention of three men like guys talking to Abraham in Genesis and the it says he seen god. Yhvh may have been a symbol for the group not just one. There is more then one scholar that believes this or that the YHWH meant the power of the gods.

There is some context that the word shaddai meant breasts insinuating that the mountains were the breasts of the world.

And coldsteel you may be on to something because many of the pantheons had a trinity or more then one god being all in one so to speak.

Can the dead hear?

the "what does the bible really teach?

" book says we cannot speak to the dead (page 64) and that the dead do not hear (page 58) but on page 68 the book has jesus talking to a dead man and the dead man apparently hearing and responding.

the same thing happens on page 69 when peter talks to a dead woman and the dead woman apparently hears and responds.

Elohim is plural meaning gods. Most people's in and around the Jews worshiped many gods. The Jews were no different. I believe as monotheism was eventually pushed some of the words changed meaning. Another example is the same word is often translated now to the word Angels. This is a Greek idea and concept. Again in most cases the same Elohim word is used and in other cases words meaning sons of god or messengers is more accurate , yet again today the word Angel is used.
