  what have you learned since leaving ?

  since leaving the jw religion,what can you say that you have learned about life/people in a positive way that you probably would have never experienced.

  Satan thrown to earth "about" 1914?

  so i'm thumbing through the new "silver sword" and i notice that in the appendix under "message of the bible" that it says, "about 1914 jesus hurls the serpent satan to the earth...." i can't remeber ever hearing the word "about" and 1914 placed together before in regards to this event.

  are there any jwapologists, or anyone else for that matter, who have an explanation for this?.

  Jesus himself said right before be died that Satan will now be cast out. Then after he was reserected he said All power and authority was granted to him. Ephesians 1:20-23 explains this all to well. So next time you see a jw ask them what the word All means to them.

  The Great Crowd and 144K explained

  i was talking to the person who posts on this site www.wernerbiblecommentary.org and we were talking about his understanding of the great crowd and the 144k (his whole article is on the site).

  anyway if you look at rev 5:10 these look to be the same as the great-crowd, being from the nations etc.

  Ds211 to answer your question about chapter 7 and coming out of the great tribulation, the writer explained to me that the word most comonly used is tribulations or trouble and not great tri ulation . So he explained it this way that a righteous person is killed in Jeremiah's day that person experience a tribulation then his death. All righteous persons that have died experience tri ulation at different times but indeed it was a tribulation.

  Should I go back to the meetings???

  i stopped going for a few months and have been real busy with work using this as a bit of an excuse to not go.

  my family has gone on as if not much has changed and i feel marginalize as my family goes on and does scocial thing with the ones in the hall etc.

  most of my kids are under the age of 11 and so i don't know if i tell them little things if it really sinks in anyway.

My family has gone on as if not much has changed and i feel marginalize as my family goes on and does scocial thing with the ones in the hall etc. Most of my kids are under the age of 11 and so i don't know if i tell them little things if it really sinks in anyway. I was planing to and will still do a family study night were i read the bible for about a half hour. But the ORG gets them for several hours a week. So anyway would it be better to go and while with them take opportunities when i can to slowly marginlize the religion with little comments here and there to my kids???

  so there are roughly 12,000 "annointed" here on earth right now.

  even though they are christ's brothers and the new testament was written just for them, they have no say on how "jehovah's organazation" is run and the the things taught.

  makes sense to me!!!

  I agree, the anointing that is talked about in the new testament is about one, baptism and holy spirit anointing a believer and the believer being one with christ which was anointed so in him we are anointed.

  what Kings, if you look at Rev 5:10 in the actual greek, it does not say kings. And if you look closer the scripture is describing the great crowd and not the 144k. Not to mention the 144k are never refered to as Anoited.

  Good piont Datadog, they once wrote that those that died as martyrs back in the early part of the 1st century could not be the anointed because even though they gave their lifes for christ they were not foot step followers. So yeah just dismiss every thing from back then a write a new rule book, we dont need the bible its all about us and following us in-order to get into the kingdom anyway.

  like always, his answer brought a smile to my face.

  he said, "to have a great time .. to have fun and have friends ... and be happy.

  At my memorial that outright lied saying that Judas was not at the meal (luke says otherwise) and hes the only one that wrote in detail about it. the speaker also said some crap about being born again. Like you said they are getting downright mean about exalting themselves. I'm going this year and drinking the whole glass of wine just to shove it their faces!!!!

Anyway if you look at Rev 5:10 these look to be the same as the great-crowd, being from the nations etc. and are dead. Next you see in chapter 7 the winds being held back until the 144k are sealed. So his understanding is that the great crowd represent the righteous that are dead before the tribulation starts and the 144k (symbolic number) are those alive and being protected during the tribulation.

  Not sure if anyone has already posted this understanding but I thought I would just incase.
