  A radical direction for the WTS - speculation thread.

  what might the wts do to counteract growth stagnation and attrition?.

  of course they could ditch certain teachings and practices such as blood, shunning and homophobia.. how about if they closed the kingdom hall network (all proceeds back to mothership) and built out more regional mega-churches?

  Just found out the district assembly in tacoma is canceled for an international in seattle. So I think the idea is to go from many dc's to a few large ones to make it seems as though there big and still growing

  JW's Unanswerable Question & Why Doesn't Everyone Take Them to Task For This?

  the one question that is absolutely unanswerable by jehovah's witnesses that actually understand their own doctrines is this:.

  can you show me even one new testament scripture that shows how a person can get their sins forgiven while outside of the new covenant?.

  most of us are familiar with the one proof scripture that has all the necessary elements tied together into one neat doctrine - matther 26: 27,28:.

  This is a killer question and goes along with another coment i just read on a blog about how the ORG like to say we that are not under the New Covenant can become "gods friends" and yet there is not 1 scrpture in the New Testament that conveys this idea.

  The elders came by and my DA letter

  the lead elder co of my hall said he was going to push for a jc meeting.

  i could tell all along all hes interested in is protecting his god the org.. so i'm 90% sure now of going on the offesive and first having a family meeting telling them i'm offically quitting and how its going to play out and how i'll will be shunned even though i have commited no sin.

  i also may explain a little of why and how i came to this decision with out bashing the org to much out of respect for my wife.

  They want to df me for promoting sects, except the only comments i have made are to the elders themselves and very minor ones at that. I guess the CO can't take it. The last time they came over i told them i was just making sure of all things and that i don't want to be caught as a liar and showed scripture on how we're accountable like in proverbs and james.

  I think i stepped over their line when i mentioned that Jesus said 'where there are 2 or more he is with them. and paul writing that theirs will be sects and the righteous will manifest themselves and also i may have mentioned paul s comments on how hes not going to step on anothers fondation by preacher where someone's else has already preached about christ. I also mentioned the 1984 wt that had 15 people on it saying this generation will not pass away and that i was in service handing these out and this of course didn't happen. I think these little comments were just too much for their cult minds to handle.

  I think the letter is more away for me to not be DF'd but to show me quitting and i plan on reading to my family and there is were i hope to get the impact from it not to try to convince one elder of TTATT. What other option do I have, go in and some how grovel to the elders at the JC meeting so as to not be DF''d I would never do that and even if i tried im not that convincing of an actor. From the very start the CO was the one i discussed with my findings about the mediator and he would say many times that if i don't agree then maybe i should quit, stating he was a baptist and quit to become a jw implying it was no big deal. This should me that hes been more concerned about is precious ORg than anything else.

  Finally getting a shepherding call... or so I thought

  a few weeks ago i got a visit from a sister from the old congregation.

  she was our uber pioneer, fearless, regular and often accompanied by her husband, a ministerial servant.

  she didnt know i lived here so it was a brief visit after she found out i had disassociated myself.. i got a knock at the door a few minutes ago and it was her husband this time.

  I would rather send a letter so as to DA myself then be DF'd, at least this way I went out on my terms instead of someone telling another that they DF'd me.

  I just like to clarify that, it looks like the impending doom is coming, I have faded for most of the year but now the elders want to JC me, so I'm not sure what I can do as far as delaying the action as some of you suggest I do. I will hold off until the meeting is scheduled and either give this letter to an elder or go to the JC and blast them. But in the end I don't think there's anyway to avoid the eventual outcome and I'm thinking that going on the offensive will atleast give me a chance to talk with my kids. Thanks for the advice and keep it coming.

The I'll will read my DA letter to the family and finally go over the WT 2009 about ones leaving their religion.

  Here is a Draft of my DA letter, please give me advise on grammar as well as any other pionters. I tried to keep it small and to the piont knowing only 1 elder may read it.

  Dear elders of the Dec.1, 2013

  Congregation at #########

  As you are well aware the Governing Body teaches that the 144,000 are the Sons of God exclusively. They alone have Holy Spirit poured out over them (the Anointing), have Jesus as their Mediator, and receive the free gift of Salvation. They alone are Born Again, partake of the emblems and are under the New Covenant.

  In retrospect the rest of faithful mankind have nothing, these teachings strip Us spiritually naked. Since we are not to partake of the emblems, Christ says we do not have life in ourselves. (John 6:53-54) Since we do not have the Holy Spirit, Paul writes then we do not belong to Christ at all. (Rom 8:9) Jesus told Nicodemus that if one is not re-born in water and spirit then one cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven.(John 3:3,5) Finally if not under the New Covenant then was the point at all?

  These teachings make it obvious why the leaders of this religion like to preach we must follow them in order earn Salvation. {2011Wt. July 15 pg24, 2010Wt. Sept.15 pg23, 2013Wt. July 15 pg 20}

  Well gentlemen the bible disagrees with your leaders understanding. It says there is no Favoritism among his followers and all who believe in Jesus do the will of his Father and have love, are born of God! Jesus is also the Messiah and Mediator for All Mankind. (Ro 2:11, James 3:17, 1John 4:7-8, 1John 5:1, Matt. 12:50, 1John 2:29, 1Tim. 2:5-6, John 3:16)

  Your religion offers me nothing but slavery to an Organization and we know what the bible says about being slaves to men.

  I’m happy to say that our heavenly Father Jehovah has called me to his Son Jesus Christ, and I am now an adopted Son of God, like so many true Christians who know that Jesus is The Way the Truth and the Light and no one comes to the Father except through him. (John 14:6) Please remove me from your ranks as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, for now I am divinely called a Christian. Acts 11:26 YLT.

  Witnessing after the Big A?

  i had the understanding that after "armageddon", the jws would be witnessing to resurrected people who had not rejected them during their earthly lifetime, in addition to all those who had lived before the wts existed, plus every dead child and baby.

  is that still taught by the wts?.

  1. presumably all dead earthly-hope jws are resurrected first.. 2. then all jws would have to be taught what is the true truth.

  so since they are planning on dfing me any way, i'm wondering if i should just write a letter or go through with their meeting?.

  Proper grammar and "This Generation"

  i was never good at spelling and probably worse at grammar.

  so if jesus really ment that the phrase "this generation" was an over lapping of generations then what would of been the proper way of saying it, if at all????
