The Divine Name in the NT: Some Reflections

i've been fascinated with this topic for some time now, almost to the point of obsession.

after researching the issue for several years, i have come to a conclusion/theory that i would love to receive some feedback on.

this theory of mine is one that will be somewhat unsettling to both those who believe the divine name was used in the original nt scripts as well as those who believe it wasn't.

The Name of the old testament God is never mentioned in the NT because they were writing about the evolution of Jesus starting out as the son of god and then becoming an almighty god. Jesus becomes the Alpha and Omega read the last couple of chapters of Revelations. This is almost an exact copy of what happens with the Babylonian gods Ea/Enki and his son Marduk. Marduk rises up among the gods and battles and defeats the dragon Tiamat. Jesus as we know does the same. In another story very similar involving the orginal gods of the Israelites Baal Hadad son of El also defeats a dragon Lotan goes on to defeat the god of the underworld called death Mot. Jesus also defeats death as well.

Both Hadad and Marduk get promoted by doing these acts, Marduk becomes king of the gods lord of lord the alpha and omega. He too becomes creator of the earth by cutting open Tiamat and making part of her the heavens and part of her the earth.

So the Jesus story is not about a trinity but a copy of the Marduk story, Jesus being elevated Just like Marduk was. No where does Marduk become his father neither does Hadad become EL.

More proof of this is in the old testament stories of Noah's flood and the Tower of Babel. In both stories its Enki/Ea Marduk's father that warns Gilgamesh/Noah and confuses the language at Babel.

there is a huge difference between been religious and been spiritual.

been religious is about been superior to others in the sight of god.

however, been spiritual is about self awareness, inner peace and unity with the natural world.

I woke to the fact that for thousands of years people were being encouraged to be generally good to one another. Hamurabi's laws going way back before any ten commandments the Jews used ,prove this. I also realized what the Bible writers were trying to get across with thier teachings concerning and about Jesus and now I live a more Christian life then any JW I know.

jws with good jobs need to thank themselves for not quitting their job because the trend is things are going to get worse as wages drop and inflation eventually moves upward.

the housing market shows this mess happening right before our very eyes, think about the rental markets, their really tight because people don't have money to buy houses and they don't have the down-payment.

many have fear their investment won't grow like they did prior to the 2008 meltdown years, their lack of conviction is driving rental prices higher.

This is more proof of how allowing illegal aliens in to the country can kill it's over all wealth. Of course this is only one of many factors.

page 232 of the 1952 edition.

I thought I read somewhere on this forum that the term Jehovah's Witnesses wasn't even originally a Russell or Rutherford term and that another Christian writer made up the phrase.

He was also the one that called a JC on me when he said I was trying to teach him something. Anyway found out last week that his oldest child which recently moved out on their own has now moved in with her worldly boy friend. Oh snap! lol

Everything seems to be changing... why not birthdays?

if we look at all doctrines, we see an overall effort to conserve unity and control.

- assuming most birthdays, if allowed, would probably be oriented to children, then that means 40 celebrations per year.

so all in all, this give a total potential attendance to a birthday of 30 families (120 attendance / 4 family members).

Your reasons are good, I would also add that by not celebrating holidays the JWs become separated from their worldly family members and this is by design. If one is not associating with worldly family members then they are reduced to hanging out with only members in the congregation. This is what cults do they segregate their members to only be with their own.

Which site can I find a JW brother that matches me so I can marry only in the Lord?

i am 30 and i am hoping to meet the brother who i will love me for me and would want to marry me.

i want to marry only in the lord but as the balance of brothers and sisters are not even and i am getting older as time goes by, im kinda a little panicky now.

I hate to say it but your 30 and in the JW world that's way to old since most JW's get married before their 20 at least in north America. If you live in this area you should consider opening up your options to Christians of other sects not just only JW's . You also may find better people and a better match by looking out side JW's.

He Jesus said something about just giving one of his followers a little help and that one would inherit the kingdom. James talks about charity and the woman Dorcas in Acts was also described as a good person doing charity. One other thing to note Jesus was never quoted as saying "when I return those I see going to empty door after empty door and exalting themselves at a church while answering a third grade level questions, I will surely make them my people"
