Yes Perry and Jesus is a retelling of Marduk, they both are called on to battle the dragon defeat death and then elevated to god of gods, king of kings. The bible has ruined so many lives and caused the death of so many people. I only deal with the bible now to prove its errors and the errors of the JW's.

they used an image of a man hung on an upright stake with no crossbeam attached to it.

ezekiel even bloviates against this in his writings and king josiah is said to have abolish these practices.
jeremiah mentions that god would even destroy the city were sun worship was being practiced a place called bethshemesh in egypt.

Early church leader Marion did not like the god of the old testament and didn't like the idea that this god maybe the father of the Christ, so it could well be that there were ones pushing other father gods of Christ , and I agree. There are those that say Christ was actually the god Serapis from Alexandria, others state that Christ was a retelling of the Marduk stories and the similarities in the book of revelations can be seen to that of the stories in the Emu Elish. If Christ is a retelling of Marduk the his father is Enki, the similarities of this god and those of the Hebrew god are very telling. I believe that the god El from Ugrarit and the god Enki from Babylon are one in the same. -

Are Witnesses Allowed to Read Bible by itself
by Brighid ini've been away from the boards so long that i had to create a new account but recent events have brought me back - i've missed this place!
anyway, i heard a former witness being interviewed the other day that said the witnesses were now being highly discouraged to read the bible by itself (without wt literature) on their own.
this seems over the top even for the witnesses.

What the numbers don't tell is all the born ins that never got baptised. What's also not mentioned is all the halls that are being closed. Jw numbers are truly down in fact the numbers they publish are probably not real. The social aspect of both the Mormon's and the jws are the only thing keeping these religions together
