  The bible is nothing more then a collection of writings from around the levant. Proverbs from Egypt , Genesis from Sumerian, most of the laws and ten commandments are from the negative confession found in the book of the dead and other from Hammurabis laws. Then thiers the ideas of the New Testament living for ever in haven or a paradise earth. These teachings are directly from the older Egyptian religious beliefs and can be found in the book of the dead. So the bible is nothing but a book full of contradictions and unfulfilled prophecies nothing more .

  i'm catching up now, and can't believe what i'm seeing.. i get that jw leadership faced a dilemma.

  I agree I think the cult is no longer able to recruit anyone from out side the religion not many anyway so thier focusing on trying to keep the ones already in in. The other thing is thier now concentrating on mostly the areas of the world were they can make money. This also speaks of desperation. They no longer seem to care about places like African or India cutting back on efforts in those places.

  The only thing that can save them now is a major economic downturn or some huge natural disaster.

Keep it simple  like posted above about blood and Jesus said nothing entering defiles a man can also be elaborated with Mathew 12 were he says 'we desire mercy not sacrifice'. It can also be brought out that in human breast milk there's roughly 1 million white blood cells per drop.

  I think the WT promoted a 50,000 year old earth as late as 1987 then just stopped talking about it till 2013 when they threw the whole thing into scientists hands

  Home bookstudy ended because of 'independent study' groups? Any interesting stories regarding these types of groups?

  someone suggested the other day that the home bookstudy meeting ended because of 'independent study' groups (in ireland) going 'off the reservation' and left the truth (tm).. has anyone heard of this before?.

  does anyone have interesting stories of 'independent study' groups resulting in large scale apostasy?.

  I know that it was brought out in the early 1980 ' s that there were independent study groups even Dunlap one of the main writers at watchtower was involved and when they kicked him out he apparently continued with some of these study groups. I believe I read this in the book Crisis of Conscience

  Pharaoh and Judas, both gods puppets?

  i've had a thought about pharaoh and judas .

  in exdos it says that jehovah hardens pharaohs heart so that he then refuses to send the israelites away.

  this gives god an exhuse to show off some plague skills he has up his sleeve.. so with judas , jehovah puts it into his heart to betray jesus .. so neither one had command of their actions?

  God hardening pharaohs heart was one of the nails in the coffin of my belief. Killing innocent people was another big nail. Finding out it was all made up bullshit really helps one free themselves from the mind bondage when you believe in this god.

  I'm getting disfellowshipped

  hi everyone, a bit of an update here on my continuing disaster of a situation.. (refer to my previous posts for the full story) my mom met with me yesterday for dinner, it was nice.. however, she brought up the fact that because i live with my boyfriend and how everything has gone down, i will be disfellowshipped.. i think the elders basically have enough proof of this.. due to the anonymous tipper (still have no clue who it was, i live in another town 100's of miles away from my old congregation territory), and my mom telling them.

  i'm not sure when they will announce it, or if they will contact me prior.. at this point i feel so emotionally dead i don't care- on the other hand, i don't want to be disfellowshipped because i do not want to loose a relationship with my mom.

  that is the whole reason i tried fading out.. .

  I think your mother told the elders and if they contact you maybe you should contact them and deny you did anything wrong. They need two witnesses not just your mom say your mom made it up or something. Then if you have to apeal to your mother about how Jesus was all about forgiveness not killing people spiritually because of one sin.
