  Elder asking for help

  this is my first time posting on here so i’m not sure where to start.

  i’m trying to keep it as short as possible since i could expand much more.

  i’ve been in the process of waking up in the last year and a half.

  It's tough when the mate is so indoctrinated. I would remember the scripture that was supposedly written by Paul that said don't be slaves of men.

  You planted a seed with the dfing and how it's wrong maybe you can plant another and over time more and more. It's going to be tough depending on your age you may have to stay and make the best of it and trying to enjoy your life around it . Maybe having kids is still possible if not try to have fun with her instead of all the spiritual crap. You only live once don't waste the years you have left .

  a few weeks ago, i think it was in the imitate their faith book or was a public talk, i forget, but anyway, luke 21:10 says: then he said to them: “nation will rise against nation,+ and kingdom against kingdom.+ 11 there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another food shortages and pestilences;+ and there will be fearful sights and from heaven great signs.

  the brother was showing the signs of the end & how it matches up to our time.

  but guess what folks, my eyes wandered to the next verse 12:but before all these things happen, people will lay their hands on you and persecute you,+ handing you over to the synagogues and prisons.

  Jesus said dont follow those that say the time is near, then he himself says the time is near. So does Peter and Paul and then John. In fact in the beginning of the book of revelations he's says what shortly must take place. The at the end chapter of the book he's saYs 5 times the time is near or it's going to happen very soon.

  So if were to follow Christ then we're supposed to stop following Christ and almost every writer after the gospels in the good book.

  my story: i am a 27 year old ex jw.

  former ms and regular pioneer at age 19. i was very active and had many "privileges" including district assembly and circuit assembly parts etc.

  as an example for young people.

  let's assume god decides what is good and bad.

  does he (a) decide what is good because it is obviously good or (b) is it good simply because he says so?.

  if (a) god has no choice in what is good.

  i have far too many to name, but ill start with obscene music, gambling and cussing like a sailor.

  all the while preaching to "worldly people" about their impending death at armageddon.

  thoughts?.

  Just a couple of things recently . Co of congregation daughter not sure if baptized or not moves in with her worldly boyfriend and nothing happens to her and people even continue so associate with her etc.

  my child was deathly ill and the wife and some of her friends started a fund drive to help to pay for medical treatment and travel. Most jws in hall don't donate a dime and not even one elder, 'mostly just the friends of the wife and daughter.

  What if Jesus Christ was not put to death by the Romans but instead died a natural death?

  according to christianity, the death of jesus was a miscarriage of justice.

  so then, what if there was no so-called miscarriage of justice so that jesus was not put to death by the romans but he instead died a natural death?

  would christians still receive the forgiveness of their sins and their hoped for salvation?.

  The whole death sacrifice this is just a passion play. In all reality there was no reason for him to be murdered. All he had to do is die perfect after being tempted by Satan to undo Adams sin. The whole thing is a joke!!!

  Don't touch ark of covenant

  i raised an issue with a co once about an elders qualifications, he visited my house and in no uncertain terms said don't touch ark of covenant ( referring to elder as ark ) , i was gob smacked then he said to wife and i that if we pursued such an avenue we could be grieving gods holy spirit.

  so ther you go elder are on par with god ..

  Just on a side note but from my research the so called ark of the covenant is a copy of the Egyptian Bark. This item was very much similar to the ark that's in the Bible. There's carvings of these on some of the temple walls and they found one in king tuts tomb. Again just another thing the Bible writers stole from Egypt.

  Am I right in thinking that the most zealous JW make the most zealous apostates.

  Not necessarily, I wasn't very zealous but I few years ago decided to become more spiritual and doing more studying which led to me waking up. If it weren't for my family still being in I would be very zealous apostate. I think it all depends how much someone hates being lied to!

  Hourly vs Salary which is better?

  I'm with scratchme, you need to look at the company that's offering it. Some company's it maybe a better option to be on salary others they'll work you to death and when you add up all the hours you work you'll find your making way less per hour then the lowest paid hourly person working at the company.

  I remember back after the 08 crash, companies were laying off people and making the ones they kept work salary. Then the worker would have to work the jobs of three people. Long hours weekends etc.

  I thought that these interventions were no longer practiced and Steve was one that said they didn't work very well?
