I think many here are missing the reality of it. Iesous (Jesus) was a created god modeled originally after Serapis which he also was modeled after several gods ones of Greek and Egyptian origin. So who are you going to call his father. Who was the father of Osiris or Zeus or Helios? Yes the Jews may have written some of the old testaments and even some of the new so do we call the father of Iesous El, but that wouldn't go over to well with the Greeks or the Egyptians would it? And since the New Testament wasn't put together or in many cases the books of the New Testament were not even written until 300-400-500 years after the story of Jesus what do they call his father, Chronos, AmenRa? Or since this is a new religion trying to gain as many converts as possible in the Roman Empire maybe they need a new name? Or better yet maybe they don't mention his name and edit the old writings and take out any name of a god that would make it specific to one group of people?

Jesus Christ was the new guy taking the place of the old Creator God exalted to the one and only true God the old God didn't matter as much just the creator god. In older pantheons this is also what happened . Baal replaced El, Osiris replaced Ra, Marduk replaced several gods before ,Zeus replaced Chronos. Acts chapter 4 the only name to be saved by was Jesus. -

Watchtower's "New Light" re Babylonish Captivity, November 2016 WT
by Room 215 inhas anyone noticed the wt's most recent shell-game revisionism in the november study tractazine, relating to the shifting of its "babylonish captivity" doctrine, from a 3 1/2-year period around the ww 1 years, to a period now spanning about 16 centuries, or from the 4th century (constantine's legal recognition of christianity) to 1919?.

Maybe they are moving away from the importance of 1914 to it's all about 1919?

Your work is not in vain! Thank You!
by de-opresso-liber inbeen lurking since early this year.
there are many of us out there (at least in this area, central u.s.) who are waking up and crossing the line to talk to each other about it.
in our area, several elders, ministerial servants and pioneers are actively and openly sharing info with each other daily.

When I woke up I too thought I was alone in my area. I helped to wake up a friend and then through him I started to realize how many others have left the cult. Most left because of the way they were treated or saw how others were treated. I think these awakening are starting a snow ball effect.
People are still going to allow loved ones to talk with them and hear some of what they have to say. No matter how hard they try it can't be stopped. The right placed phrase or sentence sometimes is all that's needed by a friend or loved one to start someone down the road to freedom.
I think some of the things being said by the cult leader is yes a disclaimer against lawsuits but also an attempt to make excuses so people will cut them a brake and stay. The cat is out of the bag though and thousands are leaving with very few to replace them the cult leaders are worried!

"It's a cult, mom."
by schnell inmy mom has been extensively texting me, trying to argue that the un ngo scandal is not a big deal and that the child abuse scandal is to instigate the great tribulation.
even worse, she kept saying how great it is that the gb is imperfect and fallible and that teaching changes all the time.
maybe it was aggravation or impatience, but i finally just snapped and told her, "it's a cult, mom.".

Yeah I would of responded if it wasn't a cult then why are they so successful in getting parents to hate thier kids just because they don't agree, didn't Jesus say not to judge and to have love for everyone even your enemies and those that didn't greet people were just like tax collects. So the fact that you mom treat me this way is proof you don't follow the teachings of Christ just teachings of men . Didnt Paul say don't be slaves of men?

How to argue with a JW who says the org never said the end in 75
by dogon ini have argued with several jws who are now being trained to deny the org ever said the end in 75, what is your approach?.

And like someone posted above if they the GB are the true faithful and discreet slave, chosen to be Gods only channel that truth from god comes though, then why is most of the crap that they have taught over the years been ideas and teachings from other churches. 1975 was from Armstrong, Pyramidolgy was originally an idea going back as far as Isaac Newton, invisible presence came from Mrs white and the beginnings of the seventh Adventist day church.
End times dates from the book of Daniel and the end of the gentile times came from a book written by an Englishman in London before 1844 (can't remember the title) . So much of what they teach as thier bible truths came from somebody else, I'm not even sure if they ever had an original thought.

When leaving was due to "Sin" and not Apostasy
by Cat2016 init has been 18 years since i decided to leave and fade away, and at that time i was feeling a lot of pressure that i wasn't doing enough, didn't fit in with the folks in my congregation, and was unhappy in my young jw marriage.
needless to say i recklessly went and had an affair that left me pregnant.
i did not know what to do, i panicked and got major anxiety.

If your still a bible believer then just read the sermon on the mount and maybe a couple of small books like Ephesians and Galatians you'll soon realize that thier teachings seemed to be all about love especially those taught by the character they call Jesus. Wasn't about works Ephesians 2:8-9 not judgment not doing things for religious leaders or having to follow any man but one simple thing , Have love for one another!!!!

Proverbs 4:18 "light gets brighter"
by stuckinarut2 inwe are all familiar with the classic use by the society of proverbs 4:18 about "light getting brighter".
they say it applies to revealed truth, and doctrinal changes etc.. have you ever just read that chapter (and even the surrounding chapters) in full??.
it has nothing to do with doctrinal changes or teachings.. it has to do with acquiring wisdom and life skills in order to live a successful life.

Isn't all of thier doctrine based on taking scriptures out of context.
