i can see why the borg hates higher education.

Religions and governments from the beginning of time have used the idea of a God to lord over the people. God gives them and them alone The authority to rule and if your not a slave to them you'll die and be sent to hell or not go to and kind of decent after life.

This is nothing new and the cult likes it. The cult of Jehovahs witnesses is much closer in the way they act to the old chatholic church then most would realize. They even wrote in a WT in the 1950's that if it wasn't for the laws of the land they would like nothing more then to kill apostates.

much to my surprise a lot of started to make sense and i started to understand the connections between the old and new testament .

Is Satan really the bad guy in story of creation?

i wanted to take an objective look at satan in the story of creation.

Also the word and the angel that's called cherubs, is from the religion of Zoroastrian. More proof the story was just a retelling of an older myth. Even the Sumerians wrote that they had contact with another older place called Arrata. This city may have been found east in modern day Iran. They found some religious artifacts of scorpionmen, again another mythological creature mentioned in sumeria and again in the book of Revelations.

Zoroastra comes from this part of the world and the concept of a bad god and a good god come from this religion too.

i'm sure that most longer term readers on this list know that the use of the number in the revelation was a 'code' using the jewish concept that assigned number values to the letters of the hebrew alphabet.. a promoter of modern judaism ( dr. eliyahu lizorkin-eyzeneberg) explains:.

today gematria is well-known as a jewish interpretive method that assigns numerical values of hebrew letters to words, phrases and/or sentences.

then, by adding them together, seeks to determine their deeper meaning.

Why Is YHWH Used Regularly In OT and NEVER in NT?

David-jay one thing to remember yes people do believe that possibly a new god was introduced to the Jews from the area you mentioned but let's not forget that the writers said this god was the god of the forefathers and gave this god the same atributes as El and Baal Hadad.

There is also some scriptures talking about a mountain in the north called Zaphon and this was Baals mountain the scriptures in question transfers this mountain and its holy place to another to the south. I'll have to look it up but again it's as if they transferred the mountain and the God down to thier mountain nearer to them.

This story is a bastardized New telling of the much older story from the Enuma Elish. In the original story Enki is the God that we would assume is Satan and Enlil his half brother is the God that is depicted in this story as Jehovah. There are many similarities between the two stories yet the Bible writters changed things around a whole bunch and added to his writings aspects of other stories from Sumeria some still being from the Enuma Elish.

A second century BC historian can't remember his, wrote that the God of the Jews was Helios. Archeology shows that many things in the Bible were just plain made up stories or legends

It has also been shown that the original god of the Israelites was the Canaanite God El then it changed to Baal Hadad with all the atributes of El being added to Baal including his wives Asherah and Anat. So again by the time you get to the New Testament it's anyone's guess who or what the yhwh represents.

I personally knew a young woman senior in high school that was date raped by another senior in her school. This guy wanted to be with her and she wasn't interested but he acted as if he was interested in the religion. So one of the elders from her hall studied with him and she was told to be nice to him.

Later he raped her, she got pregnant from her first sexual experience but she didn't go to the elders for about 4 months. It's very common for female victims not to go to the police or any authority do to shame and other feelings. She did finally go because she was pregnant.

The loving elders in all thier compassion dfd her!! Devilish lie nope, I was thier first hand as close as a friend can be and helped her the best I could even after she was dfd!!!
