It's funny I only really started donating just before I woke up. Others I know never really gave any. It seems as though the ones that gave the most are the older ones like older woman that had an excess of money maybe do to the death of thier worldly husband that not only made money while alive but had an actual life insurance policy .

How much money people usually donate to WT ?
by Bardamu ini grew up in the org and never got baptised, however i was wondering recently about how much money my family and old friends are wasting in all that.
.
i remember of course never talking in amounts, that it was important to give from what you can not what you have etc but i admit i have no clue how much the average witness gives (say in % of their income).. i'm sure it varies greatly, i'd love to hear what you guys have to say..

one of the former members that survived, she wasn't at the compound at the time of the fire, said that david had told his followers that they would die being persecuted.
that in the end they would die and then be taken to heaven.

That in the end they would die and then be taken to heaven. This former follower said she was surprised to see any one running out of the compound when it was one fire. She also said it didn't surprise her that no children with thier mothers survived again do to the teaching that they would die then go to heaven as righteous followers getting thier reward.
We must always be diligent to what the cult of JWs say and print and look for signs this evil cult is heading the same way. We can never assume because it's a large cult that this couldn't happen!

by schnell inout of morbid curiosity, i would like to here reduce the digits of the lifetimes stated in genesis chapter 5. it is clear that no human being has ever lived that long, and perhaps there is some numerological meaning to these numbers rather than literal history.
7 after he became the father of enosh, seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.
10 after he became the father of kenan, enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.

There maybe some truth to your idea of numbers meaning something in the Bible. The number 40 has connections to the Sumerian god Enki. The Adam story is also Sumerian in its origins. If there is a connection it's probably something connected to Sumeria or Babylon over Egypt.

Cyprus JW's Military Service
by snare&racket ini work with a nurse who served for 2 years in the army of cyprus as is compulsory in that country.
i happened to ask about jw's and their consequential punishment for not doing it.
he laughed and stated that since 2009 they have to do it and that he personally knew several that 'served.

Iown mylife, it's my understanding that your not to far off but your using the wrong word. The one that has a different meaning is the word "reigning " this word can mean other things then ruling like a government or king.

The words Reigning and Ruling has two different meanings. The priests in the Old Testament writings didn't have rulership authority over the people the same way as the king. Thier is no scripture in the New Testament in the original Greek that implies the followers of Christ would be rulers.

Watchtower No.3 2017 - The Four Horesmen
by pale.emperor inthis is the first time i've read through a watchtower magazine in about a year.
although i've been our only 8 months it really git me how crazy i must have sounded when i was a jw talking to non jws.. while other bible based religions talk about the 4 horsemen and back up their theories with other scriptures or historical evidence, the watchtower have taken so such steps.
1914 is thrown in there as if it's universally agreed that jesus started ruling since then.. even when i was a jw i never really understood why, if the pale horse represents jesus, why is he first?

A lot of christians don't believe Jesus is one of the horseman. I think the 4 horseman may have something todo with the sun god Helios because he had a four horse chariot. Also in the book of Enoch thier was 4 main good angels that were talked about, maybe the writer joined the two ideas together. I'm sure thier maybe a Greek, Egyptian or Ugaritic story about something like this and the writer took from that source material. It's amazing how many other stories in the Bible came about this way.
