I wrote to Mr. Angus Stewart regarding the "inactive" status claims made by the Watchtower at the ARC
by EdenOne inthis is the email i have just sent to mr. stewart angus, who has been conducting the questioning of the jw leaders during the australian royal commission dealing with child abuse cases among the jehovah's witnesses, concerning the claims made that a jehovah witness who wishes to walk away from the organization can simply become inactive and avoid being shunned:.
dear mr. angus stewart,
i have followed with interest the videos of the arc regarding the jehovah's witnesses in australia.

so if the ones that leave are the ones shunning the members of the congregation then why when someone has DAd or be come inactive when they return they are still shuned until the elders meet with them to talk about thier sins or are made to wait over a year as if DFD like those that have DAd? -

The Bible Texts Watchtower has never commented on
by ILoveTTATT2 inthe watchtower library is a great tool to learn more about the watchtower itself.
for example, answering the question "does the word "organization" ever appear in the bible"?
is easy to answer using it.

Talked to a JW at a literature stand today
by nevermind inguys,.
i need your help in trying to wrap my head around this strange experience i had today talking with a jw lady sitting at a literature table in a busy outdoor shopping center.. i'm a very shy person, but i always wanted to ask these jws at their literature stands questions to start them thinking about the validity of watchtower teaching.
i finally mustered my strength today to talk to this jw lady.

She's believing the lies that the WT said to excuse thier false dates and everything else is because she's either not been a JW very long or has a major filter on. A lot of JW are this way stupid on the facts and details and completely checked out on other things.

What is having the biggest impact on the watchtower Bible and tract society?
by UnshackleTheChains inhi all.. this is a reasonable question and would love to know what you think is having the biggest impact on watchtower.
there is a plethora of websites talking negatively of watchtower.
there are the never ending court cases regarding child abuse allegations.

I hear their now constantly begging for money. Have to throw that in to the mix. Poor people don't like being asked and guilted into giving what they don't have.

That's a good catch. There is verses in Jeremiah about family going back to Jerusalem. I think Jeremiah. The same set is is mentioned in another book too. Anyway the numbers contradict each other as well as the number of families. In Mathew the list of generations before Jesus is also miscounted. As for the verses you mention Judea borders never came close to that of Edom which was east of Babylon if I'm getting my kingdoms right.

Ice core samples taken in Antarctica and Greenland show no global flood 4400 years ago. Human breastmilk has roughly 1 million white blood cells in each drop! Almost the entire concept of Christianity in the New Testament was stolen from Egypt. Fukushima melt down way worse then Chernobyl!!! At least three reactors melted down and plutonium most likely part of this melt down too.
300,000 gallons of contaminated water per day going in to the Pacific and the jet stream goes across this area and moves west over the Pacific Northwest of the US and them moves towards Europe. This could very well be an extinction event at least for life in the Pacific Ocean.
They're claiming it could be 40 years minimum before they can decommission the plant all the while 300,000 gallons of contaminated water flows in to the Pacific everyday for 40 years. Still think there's a God that gives a crap about you? Where is he now? Love your family while you can!!!

Are There Many JWs That Have Actually Left?
by minimus init seems that most people who have been witnesses that i've known in the last 20 years are still jws.
they may not be as zealous as before but they still remain as jehovah's witnesses.

I think the biggest changes I have seen over the years. When I was a late teenager most of my same age comrades in the hall left and then later about half came back. Ones that were DFD again a certain percentage came back and stayed. There was also a few new ones from the world that did join.
Now that there's the internet and YouTube, young ones are leaving and a lot less are returning. The ones that are DFD less are coming back and those that do more seem to fade away right after getting reinstated. And last but not least the only new ones I've seen come in from the world are either mental or in two cases husbands of a JWs that were old and bored with life that joined maybe because in old age wanted a hope of an after life or just plain bored at home.
in the end I think theres a lot more chaos in the cult more people just plain sick of stuff and leaving , kids leaving and not coming back , mostly no new ones joining and the apathy is huge. This cult is pretty much a dead man walking .
ps. Of the mental ones that joined they all left and of the two husbands one has already died. In a friends congregation, he told me in the 25 plus years he went not one new one ever joined. Plus two of his sisters going to another hall have stopped thier both in thier late 40s and 50s. So the older ones are leaving too, sick of the guilt and the pathetic lives they were force to live being JWs.
p.s.s. Over a the Reddit forum they are getting about a thousand newbies joining per month.

Was/Is Religion Useful Even if it isn't True?
by cofty inin his book "the righteous mind" jonathan haidt proposes that religion served - and continues to serve an important role in bringing about cohesion within non-kin groups.. to put it very briefly haidt advocates a form of group selection but only insofar as it applies to humans.
our unique brains have made it possible for us to cooperate in groups in ways that are impossible for all non-human species.
despite their intelligence you will never see two chimps helping each other to carry the same log or one chimp pulling down a branch while the other removes the fruit.. his description is that humans are 90% chimp and 10% bee.

NO , it's an excuse for man not to advance in all things. If churches weren't around to do charity work other groups would. Belief in a higher power keeps people from taking responsibility for the bigger issues in life. One other thought, War. If people knew there was no afterlife people would be a lot less likely to go and fight and possibly be killed.

What is the basis for advising “Don’t pursue higher studies”?
by venus intwo elders who visited my friend last week encouraged her not to pursue higher studies.
it seems they are dishing out the same old stuff: “the end is imminent, and this is the time to do more in the service; hence don’t waste your resources on higher studies.”.
i wonder whether there was some official communiqué (something that is sent out recently like letter to the elders, or kingdom ministry article …).

All fundamental Christian sects hate higher education, they don't like people learning things it leads to realizing it's all BS

Welcome and while at the meetings be sure and laugh out loud at the stupidity, roll your eyes a lot, snicker and pass a lot of gas.
