I saw a couple of guys late Saturday with a cart. They were on the Main Street of the town but tucked back a little . You could tell they were wasting their time. Zombies.

Business Slow at JW Literature Trolley
by Athanasius inyesterday i stopped at a local shopping center to pick up a few things.
i arrived at 9:45 am and two jw ladies had already set up their literature trolley and had opened for business.
but i didn't see anyone stopping by and taking advantage of their free literature.

God’s name (Jehovah) is so ambiguous to the extent of even supporting The Theory of Evolution!
by venus inwe have been taught that the name jehovah means “he causes to become.” it is interpreted that he causes himself to become whatever needed to accomplish his will—as happened in the case israelites to whom he “caused himself to become” a savior leading them from slavery in egypt.. but there is a problem with this definition.
nobody would use the phrase “cause to become” with regard to himself.
one may say: “i helped him,” (but he won’t say: “i caused myself to become a helper to him.”) “causing myself to become a helper to another person” obviously implies helping nature comes with effort as though it is not in my nature.

What most people don't realize is the god of the Bible is actually many gods. The creation story is close to that of the one from Babylon where their exalted high God Marduk is the one that's the creator. In the story of the flood the Assyrian god Anu is the one that wants to kill man, later stories it's his son Enlil. I think the original story or poem that Job is used as source material is also involves Assyrian gods.
Abraham story is he travels north and meets Malkisadeks god which according to sources is the god El of the Canaanite pantheon. Later he morphs in to Baal and there's discription and even scriptures about Baal mountain showing the morphing of the two gods by the writers, check out MT Zaphon in the Bible, Baals home.
In the Moses story he's say Ea Ashur Ea , in Hebrew wrong spelling but phonetically that's about right. We are told this mean "I am that I am" but could it be saying "I'm Asar" , the Egyptian god known in Greek as Osiris or what about the god Ea known as Enki the Sumerian god.
There are scriptures in the Bible like one in Hoses that says gods from Egypt so maybe at this time it is Asar. And of course we can't forget that at then end of each prayer we say "Amen" . Jesus is called the Amen in the book of Revelations. Yes were told it means "so be it" but is that what it really meant back then? Hezzekias bulla has a sun disk with wings on it the symbol for AmenRa. The Hebrew word for anointed is taken from the Egyptian word just and example.
And what about the names in the Bible, of course we have names ending in EL showing a connection to El the god of the Canaanites. But what about names like Isaiah and Ezekiel and Jeremiah, and other like them. They don't end in any style of a known Hebrew god but they do end in one of the original moon gods of Egypt Iah also known by Yah and later assimilated by the Osiris cult.
So maybe the god talking to Moses was in fact Asur better known as Osiris. So anyway YHWH could mean anything or anyone. Some even speculate that is a spelling for many gods. Did I forget to mention the word Elohim means Gods in Hebrew not Angels or just God singular.

so according to the nt jesus makes alive those that die in adam.. given the overwhelming evidence that adam as a man did not exist jws lose the battle on this verse.. however foolish christians like pentecostals and catholics like to call adam figurative.. okay... read it again^^^^^^... .

If you have a supposed prophecy in your hands Isaiah and you want your god to be that guy then all you have todo is write that he did these things and bam he's the guy. You can see this plainly with the writings of Mathew. He tried to connect this jesus with all sorts of prophecies from the Old Testament he was so desperate to do so he even wrote things about Jesus that weren't even prophecies from the Old Testament. Took stuff out of context.

Feeling the Guilt
by Saethydd ini'm currently disfellowshipped and living at home with my parents, but because they are both still devout jws i have to keep going to the meetings and crap because i don't want to risk getting thrown out until i finish college or find a job that will let me support myself and go to college.. yesterday, my mother rode with me to the meeting and told me how much my best friend and my oldest sister are missing me, and it just tears me apart because during the meeting i was practically counting the minutes till it was over.
it didn't help matters that i had to sit with my family because the library was closed off, thus forcing me to follow along with the meeting on my tablet instead of reading something useful or interesting like i normally do.. when i got home i just cried out in frustration because it feels like no matter what i do, i am making the wrong choice.
either i have to keep pretending to support an organization that has caused so much pain to so many people, or i have to abandon my family and friends to it so i can save myself.

by joey jojo inhey there.. if this point has been covered before please forgive me.. i have had the principles of noahs flood used by jw's to encourage me to attend meetings recently and this has got me musing about the flood....again.. genesis states that a river flowed from eden and branched out into four rivers, two of which being the tigris and the euphrates.. heres the baffling part; if it had never rained before, how is it that rivers existed before the flood?!!?.
a brief google search tells us that the euphrates begins its journey as snow melt and rain ( as most rivers do) in mountains in turkey.. ecc chapter 1 mentions the water cycle and describes the rivers flowing into the sea but the sea not becoming full.
how did it work pre-flood?

Sorry cold steel but the jesus story was a myth. Another part of the story that shows this is when he died it was said that a bunch of patriarchs and others were resurrected and then ran around Jerusalem. So a bunch of people rose out of the graveyards of Jerusalem (which is a huge event) yet it not mentioned by anyone beyond the Bible. Just like the resurrection of Jesus only mentioned in religious texts .
Jesus was a retelling of the Osiris myth and they used the god Serapis as thier templet for this new god they called Jesus.

Another family needlessly torn apart
by Visitor1984 ini'm feeling very angry tonight as i watched my mother in law end her relationship with my husband, her son, tonight.
we were happily inactive, enjoying a distant but decent relationship with my in laws until they saw some christmas decorations and everything changed.
i spent two hours getting drilled on whether my husband and i celebrate holidays, to be told that my laws won't socialize with us anymore.

Send her the awake article on piñata s and how it's ok for Mexican JWs even though it was used to celebrate the birth day of the Aztec sun god . Then mention Romans chapter 14 which says it up to the person. Also Colossians chapter 2 also says holidays are ok. Also you could mention Jobs children celebrating thier special day. Call her and her religion for what they are hypocrites!!!

Very good point no snow no melt no river. I did a lot of research on the garden of eden and found that the original stories were about a place called Deliun. My spelling maybe incorrect but anyway this garden was actually area near Kuwait near the end of the rivers not the beginning.

What is the basis for advising “Don’t pursue higher studies”?
by venus intwo elders who visited my friend last week encouraged her not to pursue higher studies.
it seems they are dishing out the same old stuff: “the end is imminent, and this is the time to do more in the service; hence don’t waste your resources on higher studies.”.
i wonder whether there was some official communiqué (something that is sent out recently like letter to the elders, or kingdom ministry article …).

It's sad to see so many so poor. I have a friend that does auto mechanical work and has several sisters and even a brother or two need work done on thier cars and couldn't pay for it. Thier desperate but put a good face at the meetings so most don't know.
My father, father in law and mother in law who was divorced from her husband all died destitute. Two didn't even have a home and relied on others for housing.
