Did Jesus pre exist? Yes or no?

when i first became a witness, i always found the teaching about jesus being the arch angel michael hard to swallow.

i did however believe that jesus pre existed as a master worker alongside god (the first of his creation).. but now everything is brought into question having watched anthony buzzard explain why jesus could not have pre existed as it is impossible to pre exist yourself.

also the fact that it all sounds contradictory to suggest, he was already alive millions of years before he was transferred to mary's womb to be born as a human - the son of man?.

Jesus was a knew invented god modeled after Serapis, if fact his cult was the start of Christianity. They added elements of other gods like Dionysus and Mithra to the mix to gain followers. Serapis was already a mix of Egyptian and Greek gods and they just took it a step farther with Jesus. Most of Christianity is modeled after the Egyptian religions.

Some of the elements of the uprising in Jerusalem and some of the people involved have been written in to the gospels to give them some elements of reality but none the less Jesus the deity was and is a fabrication.

Hospital refuses surgery on JW patient - Switzerland

jw files a suit because his surgery was refused!

supreme court decides against jw.. in the present case, the dilemma to which the hospital refers is not at all.

Good on them. Hospitals are supposed to do surgery and then do it the JW way no blood then when something goes wrong the JWs sue them blaming the hospital for things not going just perfect because JWs think blood is not needed just used to make money. So I'm seeing more and more hospitals refusing to operate on JWs and I say again good in them.

i was sitting at a local city event enjoying watching an activity.

a friendly looking woman dressed in blue jeans and a floppy hippy looking top came and sat down besides me.

she notices i am sketching and says she likes to do this too.

Thier attempts at recruiting are so delusional. I mean who in there right mind is going to want to respond to that kind of tactic! WTF, these people are just plain crazy!!!'

was there something that was said to you that got the wheel turning in your brain, that caused you to start waking up to ttatt, either by a jw or ex-jw that you didn't know was awake?

i'm trying to think of things i can say or ask of my current family members still in that may help them to start seeing the real truth about the organization.

People like to say you can't wake up a JW they have todo it themselves. I agree to a point but having the information out there is very important so when one is ready they can wake up. Plantings seeds is also very helpful and this is what helped to wake me and a friend up. So I think it's very important that former JWs stay active in planting seeds and activism.

Don't let people saying JWs won't wake up unless their ready stop you!

Most people go along to get along never thinking about what their being taught and how its effecting their lives. One usually has to go through something that effects them emotionally before they start to wake up.

smyth was a man of many and varied interests including meteorology, producing weather observations that still form an important part of uk climate records to this day.. building on the work of james taylor, smyth became fascinated by the great pyramid of egypt at giza.

Another thought about WT 607 bull.

the babylonian empire didn't start until assyria was finally defeated in 612 bc.

then as we know babylon supposedly destroyed jerusalem in 607 according to wt.

before jerusalem was destroyed babylon had taken jerusalem and taken prisoners including the king and deported them to babylon and then according to ezekiel at 33:21 twelve years into their captivity a man from jerusalem came and told him the city had been destroyed.. ok so how does jerusalem get conquered 12 years before 607 when the babylonians hadn't even become the major power yet??

Your totally correct Jeffro, I didn't bring up Harran only to make the point that Assyria was pretty much done as an empire in 612. The move to Harran was a last ditch effort to hold on . I didn't realize the GB moved the dates for these events back too. It's amazing all the historical and archeological evidence to the contrary. Their major mistake is being convinced that the 70 year prophecy came true. So with this being their premise they have got themselves stuck.

zeb, I wasn't sure if Carl tackled this but figured he did. I have never read his book but from what I've read sounds like he really went over all the issues. Again it's one thing for WT to claim 607 but then to claim these other events happened also at an earlier date is just way over the top. The evidence is just way to much to overcome.
