What about the fact that the human genome project showed that human DNA are made up of almost 50% Viruses.

Anyone know the significance of the three days and nights Jesus is dead?
by Crazyguy inin my studies i’ve come to realize that most dying and rising gods such as inanna, jesus and others all were dead three days and nights.
the moon is dead as far as man not being able to see it in the sky three days and nights but many of these gods are not associated with the moon, osiris maybe being the only exception.
have any of you in your research come up with a plausible idea on why there all dead just threes days and three nights?.

The three days the Sun is dead during the winter solstice is very plausible and thanks for all your other ideas. Also like I mentioned the moon is out of sight three days per month too. What’s interesting is that in early religions ideas neither the son god or moon god is the one that dies. The only exception is Osiris in his later mythology and possibly Mithras but there not much in any writings about him going back to Persia where he was originally invented and worshiped.
Some say Horus also a sun god was dead three days after being killed by Set but again no verifiable sources.

What Privileges do you get when you are baptized ?
by LOLS inmy husband was baptized at the recent 2018 convention in south africa ....... he was very annoyed that his non-believing wife did not attend the baptism....... but i think he received pressure from his jw father & elders as to why his wife was not attending ....... anyway ..... it's really water off my back .
i wanted to know what privileges you get as a baptized jw man , as i saw a message from one of the elders at his cong , congratulating him on his baptism and to earning more privileges ..... what are these privileges the elder is speaking about ,,,,, .
i don't feel like asking my husband as it just lands up in a stupid fight ..... or a long winded explanation ..... thanks .

I don’t know if this was already said but the privilege of being asked and expected to give money. Oh and don’t forget he’ll also be blessed for being a baptized JW part of gods true organization. His blessings will never be seen heard or in anyway experienced by him but mark my words he’ll be blessed.

God and the afterlife. Do you need to believe in both
by moley ini consider myself an atheist, i completely reject the idea of a totalitarian desert god/any god and the bible is a book of fairytales and folk legends.. i do however sort of believe that this life is not all there is.
i’m not talking about heaven or hell but in a tangible state of being.. there are a few experiences i’ve had in my llife.
could be imagined could be real.

Convention statistic
by dothemath inthe wife got back from the convention, and mentioned one point from the co talk.. he gave the statistic that on average, there are about 780 people baptized every day in the world!
everyone was amazed.. i broke it to her that there used to be a lot more.
i recall giving a talk and at that time there were around 1200/day.

Nice breakdown Dio, the more they brag the more you know their going in the opposite direction. Your death rate at 1% and your dfd at 1 then add the number of those that fade away and those that never got baptized as kids but were considered publishers at one time and what do you get? A lot of Kingdom Halls up for sale.

It’s amazing that this happened so long ago seems like it was only a couple of years ago.
It’s also kinda amazing to see posts from people that I’ve never seen before. All these people that were JWs and were able to move on with their lives and have no need to come to a site like this anymore. I hope I can do the same with my family some day.

JWFacts is incorrect about "Holy Spirit". Do YOU know about the 40 or so years the WT taught there was NO holy spirit?
by Bad_Wolf ini did my own extensive research as i was getting out, and by exploring actual changes and mentions of core doctrine, i learned how it came about that the gb teach that only they know the truth and only they get holy spirit.
i was checking if jwfacts had it, and although they mention many older articles, it seems they didn't realize they taught there was no holy spirit.
this was a real big eye opener for me, so thought i'd share it, and curious if any of you knew about this yourselves????.

Did they really teach it for 40 years? I thought it wasn’t until some time in the late 20s that they started teaching jesus invisible return in 1914?
If this is the case then they would have only taught it from about 28-48?

What was the EXACT exJW website you first visited and why EXACTLY did you visit it?
by ILoveTTATT2 ini had two episodes of visiting exjw websites:one time around 2007 when i just googled "jehovah´s witnesses" and dared to look at those sites.
i was scared and i promised myself i would never come back to them.
however, that one didn´t really count.the moment that woke me up was this:i got to know that whitney heichel was a jw and murdered by another jw, because i overheard that conversation in a kingdom hall.i looked up the news and in one of the news comments, there was one where an exjw was complaining that they were hijacking her funeral and they were really trying to downplay the fact that her murderer was a jw... and then it said "visit jwfacts.com"... which i did.and the rest... is history.what exactly got you onto an apostate website when you woke up?

I think the site I first visited that really got my brain turning was 2001translation. Site.
This site is a Septuagint translation site but they also have commentaries. These commentaries helped to open up my brain to different prospectives on the scriptures. This site and reading older WT publications really helped to find TTATT.
