ok so this is a topic i've pondered and go back and forth on.. i can easily see a point where lawsuits cause massive deficits in the organization.

honestly i feel like we are seeing the tip of the iceberg in regards to lawsuits on child abuse.

to me it looks like the property sell offs are to be able to get ready for this.

According to thier own statistics they loose over a million members every decade. This was sustainable years ago but not anymore. There just not enough new ones coming in. Add to the mix that 50% of JW families in the US make a combined income of less then 30,000 per year.

They may not be hurting for money anymore but that’s do to cut backs and downsizing not donations. What’s really sad is the young ones that seem to stay are so reliant on their parents. Thier just so ingnorant they can’t make it on their own so they stay with mommy and daddy. In the future whole families , 3 and 4 generations of family will still be living together, which is uncommon in the USA.

Overwhelmed

does anyone else feel overwhelmed on what to believe?.

i've been doing lots of research on beliefs, evolution, creationism but i feel no further forward about what i truly believe.

for example i looked at the fossil record and tiktaalic and thought great it proves a lot but then i've seen counter arguments on youtube of people basically saying its a load of rubbish and doesn't prove anything.

Here is just a few facts. Dinosaurs had bone cancer and killed each other for food. Amber with insects stuck in it prove spiders and bees were deadly having stingers and biters 100,000s of years ago a most likely even farther back.

Black holes look to be confirmed. And we know star light coming from distant galaxies are millions of years old. Humans have been proven to be over 6000 years old yes proven not speculation. Just look at the cave art in Indonesia.

So with that being said the Bible has been proven to be nothing more then a book of mythology, infact many of the stories in it are based off of older stories dating back over a thousand years before any bible manuscript were created. One such story the Noah flood story not only comes from Sumeria but has been proven by Ice core samples , tree ring dating and Egyptian archaeology to have never have happened. These are just three ways they have proved that this event never happened there are other methods.

Slim, maybe it’s just my area but the Mormon and SDA churches are way bigger and nicer. Just as many of them as Kingdom Halls and they are not empty on their worship days just the opposite. In my area their places if worship are on busy streets right out there where everyone can see, while the Kingdom Halls are off back roads stuck back in the woods and only the nieghbor’s even know there there.

Their numbers are so bogus their not even worth mentioning! Just go compare their Kingdom Halls with those of the 7th day Adventists or Mormons. The other two buildings are bigger nicer and more of them in the same geographical area that you would compare.

The JWs have been lying about their numbers for years!

The Borg since 1978 only shows growth, they will never admit that the overwhelming number of young adults raised in the cult leave. They won’t admit how many have left since the change in the generation teaching or how many have died since the huge push in the early 70s. The won’t say how many have been trashed by the elders and left or have been wronged by another JW and won’t go back. And ofcourse they never admit how many have woken up do to thing they have learned and seen online.

But thier selling Kingdom Halls like crazy and that’s a sign now isn’t it! Oh yeah!!!

the next time a jw brings up a natural disaster or severe weather event as proof of the last days, and they preface it by reciting a fact they heard on the news like, (just for the sake of example) 'it's the worst earthquake in 70 years' or 'the worst plague in 200' years', (you get the picture), then simply reply: "oh, so that means that ____ years ago there was one that was worse, right?".

i did this twice.

I think they took losses in the markets during the last economic crash. I believe they are also paranoid they will loose real estate to lawsuits, we saw this happen when a court ordered a building of their seized until they could come up with the money. Also heard they wanted out of New York because of the terrorist Attack's.

The economic crash also probably didn’t help their numbers too. People thought they would be protected by god from these things yet instead they ended up bankrupt and loosing their homes.

I’ll bet many after getting back on their feet didn’t have any real faith in their god or their religion anymore.

so i roll up to the job site and looky there, two uber pioneer dubs dragging themselves down the sidewalk.

both ladies are in there early 60's and born in.. my heart started pumping, but i had to act.i was directly across the street from them.

i walked right to the sidewalk and said in a very loud, but not mean voice: "you can't teach overlapping generations from the bible!!

How Long Before They Introduce Tithing?

when i was a full-on believing jw i had an obsessive fascination with mormonism.

i read, studied and watched their propaganda with strange interest as well as their apostate mormon books.

i have to say, they have a good scam going claiming that "the lord reintroduced tithing" in the modern age.

I have read that jesus was literally a sacrificial lamb and actually depicted so in early pics and writtings. It was later that he becomes human/god. So it’s hard to say, the Jews had a day or festival one per year where they would sacrifice two sheep. One was viewed as pure and killed for a sacrifice and the other took on the sins of mankind and was cast out into the wilderness to attract demons or something. Anyway that maybe the best place to start. And then work your way forward because after this is when it seems like Egyptian, Persian and Greek influences take over in the story of Christ.
