i was wondering for those unlike myself, born into the borg, what made you come.
what did they show you that changed your view of religion or god.
there is an elder in my dad's congregation who trys to preach to me when i visit.
I joined because it seemed logical.
IF I had the power I would raise people from the dead to give them a second chance (or first chance) at a good life.
The idea of limited people in heaven makes sense to me - a heavenly government.
The 1914 thing combined with the dating from Daniel & WWI seemed to give them "special knowledge"
They seemed to practice what they preached. For instance not going to war.
I liked being around people that wanted to do the right thing.

i think i'm partial to wild turkey but i do like jim beam (black label).
i used to like jack daniels but they've lowered the proof so i refuse to buy it now.
one of my friends is convinced they both taste like piss...i don't quite understand that...i mean they both do what they're supposed and they don't taste bad to me....any preferences out there?

i know an argument can be made that any reason is unjustifiable but i'm thinking more of the dumbest reasons.
for example, if 2 "witnesses" saw you buy a lottery ticket, you could be df'd for "greediness"......any others??

I knew a girl who was DFd after she died. She was terminally ill, but it was found out that she was shacked up with some guy so a JC meeting wsa held. They met with her and decided to DF her. She died before the announcement. The announcement was made anyway, the funeral could not be at the hall and most of the congregation refused to go to the funeral.

So last night in the 7th inning I thought "what did I do yesterday (Red Sox won it in the 12th inning on a David Ortiz home run) that I'm not doing today?"
Well I realized that yesterday I was laying on the couch with a comforter watching the game.
To the closet and out comes the comforter.
8th inning Red Sox tie it.
14th inning David Ortiz (and my comforter) come through.
Everyone has strict orders to not put the comforter away.

AA - the technical reason would be "creating or promoting a sect"
So the only way to not buy all the WT doctrine and not get DF'd is to never tell anyone - e.g. "promote a sect"

The only major league game I have gone to was in Chicago. I don't remember who the Cubs were playing, but I was there and thought I shouldn't miss this chance.
I never had the chance to see a Red Sox game as a boy, then I was away, then I was a pioneer, then I was coaching and watching my son all summer. Next year though I'm going to Fenway......
......and now my Red Sox and heart live to see another day!

The Yankees will get Pedro because he will be the best pitcher in free agency this winter and the Yankees always purchase the best guys. It's like the rest of the baseball is the minor league audition for players to get with the Yankees and the big money.
