What made you "see the light"?

's in this forum have either gotten out of the org., faded, or in some way have come to the conclusion that the watchtower is not the "faithful and discreet slave", and is not the "true" religion that they claim to be.
i am curious to know..... "what made you see the light"?.

It's official!!! I start my new *PERM* job on Oct. 1 2004!!!! :D
by Elsewhere ini have been working at at my current job as a contract worker since feb this year.
for about five years i have been doing contract/consulting work and i've gotten very very tired of the instability, so i started looking for a perm position.. last year, at almost this same time, i got a perm job where my supervisor was a jw... it didn't take very long for me to be "laid off" after he found out i was an ex-jw.
for a few months my supervisor has been talking about hiring me as a perm employee, but nothing was ever certain.

They came by today
by czarofmischief inso my wife is standing at the door, waiting for me to finish my morning ablutions so that we can go out, and she asks me to go to the door.
i met a very friendly couple who wanted to talk to me about jehovah.
i informed them that i was raised as a jehovah's witness and that i had been disfellowshipped for about (and i had to think about this) five years now.. and the dude was offended by my existence.

If I were to get the chance I would play coy and ask why only JW's teach that Jerusalem was destroyed in 607bce and not 587bce. That there is overwhelming physical evidence, 10,000 plus tablets stating so.

According to Watchtower watchdog Simon Green his website came under attack by the Watchtower Bible and Track Society of NY.
"What happened was that a 'campaign' was launched against us and 4 tons of unused and unread Awake! magazines were placed in front of the door to my server room by local adherents." Green said. "Which prevented me from getting in to work on the server." Suspecting that another several tons of Watchtower magazines were on their way, Green, with the help of several former members of the JW religion took the discarded Awake! Magazines and spelled out DEMONZ CROSSING on the sidewalk and near the local coffee shops sending Jehovah?s Witnesses scattering across the countryside.
?We?re safe now? Green said, restarting the server. But as a preventative measure Green said he was going to change the street number of his home to 1799, 1874, 1913, 1914, 1915, 1918, 1925, 1975 and 1995 on a rotating basis. ?That ought to confuse them.? he said.

Suggetions for handling a difficult situation?

after a private discussion with her, she said a girl in school whom she has gym with (7th grade) told another girl that her uncle has been touching her!
my daughter wasnt part of the conversation but she stepped in and asked if she (victim) has spoken with the counselor yet.

I would call the Principle and tell him the name of your daughter's friend who the victim was confiding in.
It?s hard because you are deciding between the worse of two evils.
How does getting involved affect your daughter and her classmates? ? How does not getting involved affect a girl who is being abused?
Call the Principle and just tell him what you know. No need to try to justify, prove, disprove, believe, not believe, interfere ? just inform.
